It would be nice if you could do a charging video including charging in various cold temperatures. That would be very informative for us who are considering a Polestar. 😊

Beautiful scenery and great photography. Looks like a great setting for a cabin. Do you notice any noise and/or vibration from the heat pump? Mine seems quite noisy and I feel quite a bit of vibration through the steering wheel when stationary even at our higher UK temperatures. So far -1 is the lowest I've driven it at. It sometimes feels just like there is a ICE idling in the front!
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Paul 😊 I think I`ve experienced what you describe once, but most of the time I don `t notice the heat pump. I`m not sure if that noise was from the heat pump either, as the old car without heat pump sometimes made loud noises too. There is a fan that sometimes goes off sounding like a helicopter about to lift off 😅

Very informative video. I’m curious about the glass roof in the cold: Do you feel a lot of cold coming from the roof, or is that not a problem?
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks 😊 I've never felt any cold from the roof, not even in -20 degrees celcius. 👍 not sure how much energy it takes to heat up a car with glass roof versus non glass, but many EVs have this kind of roof these days, so probably not a big difference.

Have you tested A better route planer with Polestar 2? Think its maybe a bit optimistic about charging?
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere 2 жыл бұрын
I've used it in the car a little bit, but I'm not a big fan of the user interface of arpb in the car. It doesn't run very smooth and feels quite unresponsive and buggy. I definitely prefer google maps. Unfortunately google maps doesn't support way points so not very good for planning trips. For longer trips I use the browser based aprb on my computer to plan the trip and google maps in the car.

Do you keep your car outside? Im trying to figure out how to keep the battery alive in the winter or should i not worry if not connected to a charger?
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere Жыл бұрын
I mostly park in an unheated garage. When we go to our mountain cabin I park outside. Never been an issue, not even in -25 celcius. I guess as long as you don't leave it for longer period of time with very low SoC in very cold temperatures you won't have any issues. A cold battery will charge slower than an optimally heated battery. We have also have an 2018 Nissan Leaf which is parked outside all year, never had an issue.

Takk Vegard, lärer masser av deg! Hytta ser bra ut og drone shots'a var 🤩 Hvor mye % hadde du på batteriet da du kom hjem?
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere 2 жыл бұрын

Does the polestar have different modes such as ‘off road’ or ‘mud/snow’
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere 2 жыл бұрын
There is only "sport mode" which reduce the effect of the ESC. From the manual: "The stability system (ESC) is always activated - it cannot be switched off. However, the driver can select ECS Sport mode, which allows for a more active driving experience. With Sport mode selected, interventions from the system are reduced and the car is allowed to skid more and greater control than normal is thus transferred to the driver. When Sport mode is selected, the function can be considered as deactivated, despite the function continuing to help the driver in many cases. Sport mode also provides more traction even if the car has become bogged down or is driving on a loose surface, such as in sand or deep snow."

What do you think about the suspension of the Performance version? Is it much harder ride with 20" wheels compared to the non performance?
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere 2 жыл бұрын
Mine is currently at the default 8/8 setting and it is a bit harder. I don`t find it uncomfortable compared to the non performance. What I like about the new one is less body roll and a more sporty "feeling". I am going to play a bit with the settings and try out the comfort setting which is 18/20, but I`ll do that after winter :)

Hi, I really enjoy my Polestar! It's a great car and it keeps getting better in every software update 👍 I got my first Polestar 2 in August 2020 and after we wrecked it in an accident in July 2021 there was no doubt about replacing it with a new Polestar 2 😊👍 The P2 is a great EV even though it wasn't built from ground up as a pure EV. The car was originally designed as a concept ICE car by Volvo. I really think the P3, P4 and P5 will be amazing EVs being built from ground up as pure EVs. Investing in Polestar sounds like a no brainer to me 🔥💪

How does this Polestar compare to the previous one regarding consumption? What is your guess, if the heatpump makes a difference? Maybe the bigger tires eats the advantage up. Btw nice, that you stayed at Polestar after your accident. I would also stay on that car if I would loose mine. But I would stay on non PP.
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere 2 жыл бұрын
Hard to meassure, but it feels like as you say the 20" wheels eats up the advantage, so consumption is about the same. I was considering trying something else, but when looking at the other cars available and considering how happy we where with the Polestar, there was no reason not staying 👍

Hi, Do you have the heat pump in your Polestar? Thanks
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes I do have the heat pump. I had the MY21 without heat pump first, but after we had an accident the car was replaced with a MY22 with heat pump. It is difficult to meassure, but I think it has a slight advantage range wise during longer trips in cold climate. The heat pump does sometimes make more noise than the car without heat pump, but that is only noticable when the car is parked and is nothing that bothers me.

Hei! Skal hente min om en ukes tid! Gleder meg greit! Men 19" vs 20" vinterhjul… hadde du 19" på forrige bilen? og 20" på denne? Stor forskjell?
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere 2 жыл бұрын
