My 2022 Himalayan also has no hint of a stalling problem. It starts immediately when cold and idles fine. And I've made a lot of the changes and additions you described. Still need to put a guard on the headlight and raise the front fender. I've also installed GIVI engine guards and I'm glad I did. It's a fine motorcycle and look forward to many more miles of fun. Fantastic, the 2022 one here is identical to my late 2023 model, yet we have a Catalytic converter in the exhaust downpipe here, plus no NAV. What a bike, totally amazing...so so smooth & 100% better fueling than previous years. I actually prefer it in many ways, to the newer 450/52. Great review Fuzzy 😊

A subtle change which you will only notice if you study the two models side by side, is that on the new model the brake pedal doesn't stick out to the side as far as on the old. I have the old model myself, and the only thing I don't like about it is the brake pedal. It's short and it sticks far out to the side, and this can make you twist your right foot outwards while riding, which in my case caused an annoying pain in my lower leg. On the new model it's the same short pedal, but they have bent it inwards a little, so it doesn't stick out so far anymore.
@forgottenmotorcycles2 жыл бұрын
That's very interesting. I'm going to have to look at that the next time I want the bike shop. How do you like your bike otherwise? Where about you located?
@olethorhermansen56962 жыл бұрын
@@forgottenmotorcycles It's a small change that you'll only notice, if you're looking for it. A few weeks ago I visited my local RE dealer, who had two new and two old models standing side by side. Because of the problem I've had I looked at the brake pedals, and it's noticeable that the pedal has been turned inwards on the new model. I suppose I'm not the only one, who's had problems with the pedal on the old model. I have solved the problem by adjusting the pedal down as far as it will go, so now I can ride with my foot above the pedal instead of sticking out beside it. It's not perfect, but I can live with it. Apart from the brake pedal I love my Himalayan, it's a great machine. I live in Denmark in a rural area with many small, twisting roads where the Himalayan is perfect.

awesome! thinking about this vs KLR or Benelli TRK 502x
@forgottenmotorcycles Жыл бұрын
I almost bought the KLR over this, it would have been a great motorcycle. I'm thinking the Himi is lighter, easier to push when I get her stuck, and has a 3 year unlimited mile warranty vs the Kawi 1 year. Also, the both bikes are like trucks but the Himi is more comfortable and less contractor like. I could have lived with the KLR but, at 17,000 miles, am very happy with the Himalayan. Only think I know about the Benelli is that I'd love to see/ride one. Wahoo!

@@forgottenmotorcycles Forget about the Benelli TRK 502x. I tried it last Sunday, this thing is super heavy, with the CoG very high. barely manageable on road, especially at stops. Won't imagine what it would be off-road. If it falls good luck with picking it up. And I've tried it with a top case only. Imagine it two-up and loaded. The seat height is pretty high, I'm 178cm and I was on my toe balls. So 235kg wet and the engine is super noisy. Not a nice thump like the Himi. I Hated it. However, you may try it just to judge by yourself. Good luck with it and stay safe!! I've tried the Himi (as well as the SCRAM411) and it is much much more manageable and lighter too. As of now, the Himi is the best option for ADV. Along with the SCRAM 411 I've also tried the Honda CB500x which was underwelming and lame. The KTM 390 ADV felt like a toy, and a very high one. very plasticky. Will test the RE Interceptor 650 on Thursday. Quiet Impatient, I must confess. Currently riding a Vulcan 650 S which I love but I want to explore more fire tracks and off-road paths during weekends. So I guess it will be the HImi or the Scram eventually. Love your vids and you get a new sub. Wahoo!! 😅

I'm thinking that's the one for me, there's something about that pine green that I keep going back to. The 3 year warranty is a big plus for the 2022 though I hope to never need it. As far as mods go I would need a better skid plate, the Happy Trails one that Todd had on his bike looks really good. Exhaust would be nice and perhaps a cam, I'll decide after riding it for awhile.

Here is a question no one has been able to answer. Why is the USA not getting the Euro 5 version like the Granite Black the I have? Do you know the build date of that Himalayan?
@forgottenmotorcycles2 жыл бұрын
That is a question we had early on. We noticed the difference in the pipe between the US 2022 Himalayans in the showroom vs the 2022 Himalayan on the US website. So we called RE and asked about it. Turns out that US spec models are different from the Euro 5 bikes, actually made on different lines in the factory. But why? US bikes have to be certified for sale here and they didn't see a need to do that. Also told us that there are other differences between the US & Euro 5 models. How about the bikes on the US website, why are they showing the Euro 5 models there? The website builder was supplied with Euro 5 photos and that is what got used. Very good question. Thank you!
@PubRunner2 жыл бұрын
@@forgottenmotorcycles well there you go. Glad I asked. Still it seems odd. The market must be big enough and maybe the Euro 4 is cheaper to produce to justify a separate production line. Normally it’s Australia and New Zealand that lags getting the new models. Btw I enjoyed the video.
