Sweet bike and setup nicely, I use my Diverge with the Roubaix Pros and the geometry is similar!

Great review Would you recommend the 2022 Roubaix Comp or 2021 Aethos Pro - SRAM Force eTap AXS for an older person (60) that rides mostly road but also packed dirt & Rail trails? You seemed to love the Aethos as well. I was set on this 2022 Roubaix, but my local LBS is suggesting the Aethos Pro, because the Aethos is lighter and has "less going on" without the Futureshock. It is raining this weekend so I was not able to test ride the Aethos (but I have ridden a 2021 Roubai that felt really nice). The price difference is not a huge concern (I want to buy a bike I'll love). My concern is having a comfortable bike that is versatile enough to handle regular (road) and group/vacation rides, and this purchase may be the last bike I buy (famous last words!).

if your rides are mostly flat and you prefer comfort then I'd go Roubaix... if you live in the alps or something similar then you'll probably love the lightweight Aethos more... but that also depends on your fitness level... nothing great about having the lightest bike in the world when you are 30%-50% bodyfat ..

@@Robke250 I actually ended up taking an Aethos and a Roubaix out for test rides. For me, there was a very noticeable difference between the two bikes. The Aethos is much more responsive and ultimately I felt a much better "connection" with the bike than the Roubaix. I ultimately bought the Aethos Pro, and swapped the stock 26mm tires for 30mm tires. Before taking delivery on the bike, I rode it again, and the bumps and cracks were much more muted on the Aethos with the wider tires (not as squishy as Roubaix, but definitely a big difference from the stock 26mm tires). I've had the Aethos now for a couple of weeks and I absolutely love it. I have never had a bike that I dream about riding the next day, and I do with the Aethos. I absolutely love it! I should also mention that I had a fit done on my old bike years ago and the Aethos was configured to that fit. So, I am extremely comfortable on it. I did a 30 mile ride yesterday and had no discomfort whatsoever.
