So i have been riding Classic 350s and 500s for about 5 years now and according to me the new version is absolutely worth it ... i know most of you will not agree with me but take a test ride of the new one and all your doubts will be cleared ... yes it does not have the lazy thumpy nature of the older one but its a 10 on 10 upgrade . @@habibifunk4223 I've got a 2019 interceptor 650 which is plenty of power uphills. I ride almost exclusively up and down 5,000 ft where I live and 2 up is nothing at all. I've ridden 2 up to 10,232 ft no problem. I've done 90 mph at 7,400 ft no problem. Again with passenger.

What a great road and wonderful exhaust note. I'm always amazed at how calm you chaps across the pond are with oncoming cars in your lane, bicycles and cattle! I'll be getting a 350 Classic when they're available here in Canada, hopefully in the next couple of months. I almost pulled the trigger on a Continental GT last summer... happy that I waited. I own classic chrome bronze reborn and this sound will not be present at all time. When the bike is supposed to ride at lower gear for its speed (i.e 20 in 2nd gear like that) and when the acceleration is given slowly, this sound is produced and it's pure bliss. When you ride at higher rpm and all, this sound can't be produced. This guy is riding on the uphill and engine has to push the bike and when this process happens, that heavenly sound is produced and I'll be driving in that style for getting that sound itself. Pure bliss it is. Otherwise when you drive normally, the exhaust sound will be very less and normal only. But the beautiful part is, at times the bike gives sparkle sound effect which Is rocking ❤️❤️

If you ride the bike on a higher gear say 4 at a speed of 35-40kmph then you can get the same sound and yes also while going up hill

Older version had a seat height of 800mm ... this new version has got a seat height of 805mm so 5mm doesnt make a lot of difference its almost similar .

I actually did a deep analysis and compared everything between the older classic and the newer classic ... and the newer version is absolutely worth it ... if you keep aside the FEEL FACTOR ( it actually has got a real good feel too ) ... the new one makes much more sense in every aspect ... braking handling refinement smoothness power delivery ... they made it 6 seconds quicker to 100kmph than the older one ... they actually made the LIVING WITH IT factor tick and that was what the older version was missing . So according to me they presented the New Classic 350 in the best possible way

May be I'm a noob at knowing the way engines are made and they function but it does keep me wondering, HOW?

@@KailashRathithedentist Sir the engine used in the Jawa and yezdi bikes is from the Mahindra Mojo which is a high revving engine thus it makes more in terms of Horse power when compared to the RE's 350cc long stroke engine which usually makes more torque than horse power ... thats why the RE feels a bit lazy in terms of power delivery too .

@@KailashRathithedentist If you are really interested though, let's understand the engine first. It's a piston that's moving inside a cylinder, I'm sure you can find the working principle online but what they won't tell you online is simply this. The 350 cc is the volume of the space covered by the piston in the cylinder and the cylinder is connected to a crank with a help of a connecting rod (This converts linear piston motion inside the cylinder to rotational motion). The 350 cc of the cylinder can be made in many different ways, that is you can make the cylinder slender and long or you can make it a fatter engine. If the above part is clear, the RE engines are long strokes, not just RE most older engines were long stroke simply because the older lubrication technology doesn't allow the engine to rev too high and the longer cylinder allowed more cooling fins. The character of long stroke comes with a need for long connecting rod which makes the crank radius really large and heavy. The only thing you might need to understand is that the immediate torque produced per stroke in a long stroke combined with heavy crank ensures that the load pickup character of the engine is much better compared to the other type. But to answer your question though, let me just say it out loud that there's no such as power in a motorcycle, that's just a measurement we made up for comparison. There are only two real controllable parameters in an engine which is the rpm, it's in your control when you give the throttle and the other is torque. Now torque relys on how much fuel you put in for every stroke, this is where a long stroke shines where it needs minimum amount of fuel to produce the said torque because of heavier crank blah blah blah when compared to the the short stroke fat engine which needs more fuel for the same. Now before we get to power, just take a Look at something called ideal power torque curve in engines. It will show that ideally we expect the torque to be always constant all through the rpm. It should be a straight line but it's not and hence why manufacturers represent some absurd max torque at whatever rpm. Horsepower is the combination of torque and rpm. This is the deciding parameter. Long strokes typically don't rev past 7.5k rpm while the short strokes go up until 10k or more depending upon the configuration. This curve should be a 45 degree straight line as rpm increases but it usually isn't. So all things said you can understand that the long strokes produces the said power at much lower rpm because it has lot of torque per stroke and short stroke usually because of the unavailability of torque have to be reved harder to attain the same power. So essentially the power in the long strokes is more "usuable" without blowing up the fuel economy. Also the gear ratios in the long strokes can be just designed by a 10 year old and might still perform well. The power is just always there because the torque is always there, gear manipulation is minimal. On the other hand for really short stroke engines the gear ratios have to very precise depending on the intended purpose to let more engine torque when you start the bike and have load.....well you get the idea. Although I made it all sound so simple (hopefully), the balancing act in choices engineers make is incredibly complex and there are tons of consideration that goes into design.
