2022 Santa Cruz Heckler 29 E Bike Review

Good stuff. This review is one of the few for the 29er Heckler. One thing that jumps out to me is the really long chainstays. Did you like the handling in tighter stuff?

Yeah I noticed that there was only 1 or 2 on the 29” which is a bummer because it is super good! I actually didn’t even notice the length of the chain stay out on the trail at all. It was impressive!

Great video! What did you mean by the battery sticking out on the new ones? I know Santa Cruz had the issue where the battery cover was falling off, but they addressed that, at least on mine they did.

The new latch, some of them make it so the top of the battery latches pretty flush with the frame, while others the battery sticks out further then it should.

@@dialedmtb Mine sticks out ... quite a bit. Do you recommend Santa Cruz support for this? Besides my OCD, it's actually allowing a lot of dirt and water to sit inside the battery cavity.

awesome video! what size is the bike? and how tall are you if you don't mine me asking, im in between a S and M but really want the MX wheel so just want to see if u have any input on sizing, since its impossible to even find a demo to sit on. thanks in advance!

Hey thank you! But I am just over 5’8” how tall are you? At my height the bike fits perfect! I could be a little taller or a little shorter and it’d still feel great I’m assuming. But yeah sadly demos are super hard to find right now!

I think you will be perfect on a size small, even at 5’6 I would recommend a small.

im in between a yeti 160e or a heckler, coming from a sb150 what's your call on pros and cons on them both? I know heckler is a bigger battery is range noticeable longer

Honestly for battery life, you have to go on some pretty big rides to make that a big deal for which bike to buy. The new heckler is a very playful and fun bike while the 160e is a super fast bike. The yeti does well going fast that’s for sure, better then the heckler. But if your trails are not super fast and wide open the Heckler would be a solid choice.
