I wish boat reviews would evolve to a format similar to modern car review channels where the content isn't just manufacturer jibber-jabber. Don't just read off the features/benefits, but actually REVIEW the boat. Give some real likes/dislikes and some real time comments when operating the boat. This was basically just a video brochure.

Frankly I'm disappointed if 600 HP boat tops out at 52 MPH?

I am too. How come the 285 that weighs in at almost twice what the 215 weighs and both have the exact same horsepower of 600 and the 285 tops out at the same speed. Go figure. Are they governing or topping them out in the low 50’s on purpose?

I don't know how this boat only does 52 MPH with 600 HP. It's lovely but my 2005 SeaDoo Speedster 200 did 54 MPH on the GPS with only 310HP. There's a Speedster 200 here on KZbin that does 73 MPH with modified turbocharged engines. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooK6hGaQr950edk

I agree!!! We have a 2019 Scarab 215 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5DbfKh3jpJ4Z9k) with twin 200's (400hp total) and we can easily get up to 60mph (no modifications and the wake tower and bimini were up and two adults in the boat). Our lake is pretty small so no need for the twin 300's!!!

@@ogimia Thanks for the info. I found a boatingmag article online that shows its good for 61 mph at 7900 rpm. Not sure why that wasn't mentioned in the video as a selling point.

Are you sure your top speed recording is accurate? You reported 52 MPH for the 215 and 55 MPH for the 285 with the same engines?

Either the old guy does not know what he is talking about or this boat only has 300HP Total. I have the two year old version and top speed is 70.

Great video!!! We love our 2019 Scarab 215 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5DbfKh3jpJ4Z9k) - it has been a great boat so far and can't wait until the ice comes of the lake this spring to get back out on the water.
