This video was really helpful to me. During the COVID bike shortage times, came upon a Scott Scale 930 in my size at a local bike shop. Decided to scoop it out right there and then after watching this video. Since then, impressed with the carbon frame, the ride and its value-for-money. Thanks GC Performance!

That’s tough this step up to Carbon with the Chisel out there and I like Scott. 1600 vs 2300 similar equipment and near same weight. That leaves $700 to insta upgrade nice things. $200 XT or GX shifter Derailleur, 150 Carbon bars, 150 seat post. Still have 300 left. Could drop 2.25 pounds put that towards Sid SL fork. Race bike activated. I like this bike and shopped it against several Carbon bikes and chisel to race Leadville on. It’s hard to spend an extra amount and not get much more out of it. Same build just that much more for carbon frame that may weig just a tad bit less. I love your videos though. My Chisel weighs in at 22.16 pound with full seat bag, Garmin pedals, and Silca Ti bottle cages.

I bought last years model, exact same bike and components for $16xx. Agree with you $600 price increase is too much for the equipment offered

But Chisel is alu alloy and this is carbon? Carbon frame is worth more than any parts upgrade any day imo

On the surface, this is a sweet deal. But the Cannondale Scapel HT Carbon 4 blows the doors off this in terms of value. For $100 less, you get a carbon frame, a 1x12 XT/Deore drivetrain and a SID fork.

I was looking for a bargain XC hardtail (closeouts) so I went cruising a bunch of shops in the Phoenix area pretty much striking out. The last shop which really caters to the road crowd had this hangin in the window, I jokingly offered $1200, he firmly said "NO!" I thought, "bro cant take a joke" just as he came back with, "I'll take $1500 out the door."..Deal, done! Way better ride than my 20 year old Giant Ranier!

When I see a hard tail weighing 27+lbs I realize how good I have it with my full suspension mountain bike. With 150mm front & rear travel with dropper my bike comes in at 25 lbs. I never imagined I’d have a trail MTB weighing less than a carbon hard tail!

I’ll link the video of my bike when I get home of my bike being weighed at my local bike shop so you can see. But yeah, wider rims + wider tires + beefier forks all add more weight to modern bikes these days.

NOPE! Last years bike for $1700 was sackwy the same bike , And the Aluminm 950 out of the box is lighter than this because it comes with Fox 32 which is 1 pound lighter than that no good rockshox judy silver . The AL 950 also comes with shimano microspline Deore with XT deraileur which is better than that no good Sram SX-NX . And the fox 32 has 3 position remote lockout . The Aluminum 950 with a SID sl-rl , a lighetr cassete and crankset and thunder burts weighs 24 pounds with pedals and cages - LIGHTER than the CF scale 920 . A Steel Norco Search is as light as a scott addict gravel . STEEL!
