2022 Shimano Stella FK - Lamborghini of Spinning Reels!?!?

If you are watching this video, you are no doubt either trying to figure out if it is better than the 2018 Stella, or you have this reel on your wish list. I was skeptical that they could really make the Stella better, but as I keep saying, I have no clue how Shimano keeps doing it! Super smooth, super high-end reel that will cause even the most seasoned angler to drool. It's...THAT...GOOD!

Liked & subscribed. Your channel will go. Keep doing what you’re doing .your a bass & boat guy. My main thing is being the only person on a stretch of east coast (NC main stomping grounds)walking & looking until Opportunity knocks .Ultra light. Pocket sized tackle pouch.small day pack some times &1 rod.(just now starting…today)Looking for a inshore setup. Been fishing the same saint croix 7’8”with 3-4 $200ish range reels (2500 size range at the upper end)finnor,peen&a shamono for a longtime. Spelling isn’t the best on this stuff,but the rod I mentioned is the 1 I’ve used since mid 90s.paid around $200 .that was the most I have ever spent. So $400 is about where I have been. never splurged on the top of the line or higher end reel.this is 3rd video & been hearing as high as $1300.that might be the salt water versions. Think it’s time for a new setup..butt to tip line ,tackle…all of it. & have quite a bit of research to do. Need to talk to someone that’s in the business & been watching it evolve. Honestly found this reel by accident. meant to type in van stall.those were the fancy high dollar reels back in the day. 1000ish & geary feeling as could be from what I remember. Of the reels I mentioned above the shamano was the smoothest by a smidge. A lot has been going on . I have not been looking cause my stuff is still hanging in & getting it done. I’m 52 now & want some of this refinement!stilll thinking 2500 ,& maybe a little more length..thoughts?thx. PS. I have fished all sorts of places & species. Have some pretty nice (but maybe outdated to your standards)fresh water ultralight setups…+fly rods ,bait casters(that I’m not great with)spinning is what I like. Thx again.

It's pretty amazing. The oscillation of the spool is incredible on the new one. VERY slow going up and down.

I'm on my second stella first one bought and returned second I received yesterday with both reels I was and currently am experiencing a knock on retrieval some call it a click feels more like a knock to me. Seriously considering the switch to the exist. Has you or anyone you know experienced a similar knocking issue with either reel ? Thank you

I tbink it’s very highly over hyped. I got this and exsist and exsist to me feels like much better reel. Way smother on the retrieve as well, stella felt heavy Inwas getting tired reeling in bigger lures as in exsist it was just feather and beautiful to work.

Same "problem" on stella Fj and TP fd , the metal rotor is the key, very heavy and make the reel a little unbalanced on the handle, so the reel do that click or knok, anyway today i'm used and at end of the day when you fishing the sound of the waves cover that sound 9/10 of situation, i ll never come back with Daiwa, i had a Certate LT5000 and After 5 month the line roller and other rotor parts was fucked by salt (even i washed every day) and the body was losing his Paint even i used It with Velvet gloves, yes Certate was more "solid" on the handle and It was be less noisy but It give me other serious troubles

I can't tell you to be honest. This was a dealer sample that my Shimano rep had and I took the opportunity to take it home and give it a onceover. I hope it has the same bag style that they have for the Exsence.

daiwa is definitely better trust me lighter and more durable and looks better is more smooth and a lot of new innovations is inside but it's more expensive

Can’t speak for the Daiwa reel as I’ve never fished a single one of their reels. I think the slow oscillation of the Stella spool with be an absolute game changer for casting distance.

@@OnAnotherLine the slow oscillation will be great but maybe more for monolines and not for braid and daiwa has now slow cross wrap its not slow like the shimano thats true but the monocoque body is more durable its lighter and the cogwheel is much bigger than the shimano cogwheel the stella will be a very great reel im very sure and it will be better than the stella FJ but daiwa is better but thats just my opinion

I’d opt for the 3000. It’s the same size reel body, but the 3000 has a deeper spool and allows for more line to be added.

Depends on how thick line you're using. No point in a 3000 if you have to buy 300 meters of line just to fill it up.

2500 the crank handle is flat and the 3000 the crank handle is T , I got my 3000 cuz I feel the crank handle, handle better but both reel weight 7.4 oz each 2500 size spool hold less line FYI

Not better but more stronger than lower sizes targeted for bigger fish, i have 5000 size , it’s an aswsome reel , fights like big reels and casts like big pit ones
