I never miss an oil change, it's probably the most important part of servicing your bike. One of bikes is a 1989 BMW R80 airhead, bought it new and it's now got 170,000 miles on the clock and still going strong on the original bores. Hope to see the Bullet soon! 🏴

Very cool with your 89 R80! Yes, oil changes are definitely the most important thing you can do. Enfield videos coming next!

What size oil filter removal adapter cap is that? I need to buy one
@Cyclingwithgasoline5 ай бұрын
Either 67mm or 68mm - I don’t have it in front of me. However, here’s the part number for it - 09915-40620

always have trouble getting my oil right in the middle. don’t think i wait enough time or somethin between checking it and adding more
@Cyclingwithgasoline8 ай бұрын
This bike has been easy, actually. I always shoot for it to be just a bit low, wait overnight and see. It’s always easier to add than take out. My Ducati is more temperamental with this.

@@Cyclingwithgasoline how would you recommend taking some out? think i’m .1 .2 of a quart too high
@Cyclingwithgasoline8 ай бұрын
@@joemommaganja Two ways. You can loosen the drain plug until it starts spilling out, then tighten it when you’ve removed enough. Don’t fully remove the plug. It’ll be a little messy, but obviously have a pan underneath and just wipe anything away with a shop rag. I’ve also removed oil with an extractor, which is basically just a giant syringe with a tube that you carefully push down the filler cap into the pan. It’s definitely the easier and cleanest way to do it, but be sure to have something to put the removed oil into.

@@Cyclingwithgasoline think letting some out through the oil filter would be a decent idea? haven’t been able to find a extractor long enough. i know i could but..

New video (hopefully) in about 24 hours. It's finished, just need to finish editing. I'll give you a hint, the bike is completely reassembled and almost ready to start. I need a new petcock that mysteriously froze, but that'll be here in a few days. Otherwise, we're basically at the finish line.

Soooo ugh you forgot to show us how that breather hose goes back on
@Cyclingwithgasoline2 ай бұрын
@@romeitaly8524 It’s very easy and just slots back in. When you remove the fairing, you’ll see exactly how it’s on and then just do the reverse.
