A complete and proper review of the 3rd-generation Suzuki Hayabusa for the everyday, average rider. Don't buy a new Hayabusa until you watch this video. Why? Well, because I said, that's why.

The old man's sportbike...that's actually what I like most about it from what I've seen. I like low RPM, long sweeping curves, and how the bike behaves itself very well (at low RPM) as long as you don't ask it to do anything dumb. Granted, I've not ridden one yet (still a new rider), but I could definitely see myself getting one some day. Suzuki demo days, I'll see you next year!

Hayabusa owners and fans that love this gorgeous machine will always continue to purchase one and the maker to this model have to put their heads together to just make minor cosmetic changes and this is because the bike speaks for itself with style and speed when people in general will turn their heads and applaud at a stylish bike and there's a saying where " If it's not broken don't fix it" and that's exactly what the company did , they left it alone and just did minor cosmetic update and i can name one right now that needs attention to and that's the kick stand, right now the bike can fall on it's side with the present kick stand.

Ah, the maniacal laugh! That says a lot in itself. Great analysis for the real rider. Most intoxicating thing I've ever ridden is a Panigale V4S (totally otherworldly performance), but ten miles is about all I can take of the extreme riding position it requires of you (my Daytona was a bit similar in how it loaded your wrists, thankfully there's an aftermarket and Heli Bars handled that). And it's even more costly than that Suzuki. I ran across a bike a while back that was a horrible temptation to go into debt for, just because it was so outrageously unique -- an MV Agusta F4 Senna sitting on the sales floor of a local dealer. Only 300 were made, all sold before the first one left the factory, and there it was, with a price tag on it that was less than half what they initially went for! A literal piece of art you could ride.

Yeah, those F4 Sennas are super rare and extremely pretty, but you'd probably only want one as a conversation piece. I've heard horror stories about MV Agusta with regard to reliability; a typical Italian reputation in many ways. Cheers.

Regarding the suspension, it is specifically designed to be one the best handling motorcycles ever. They literally put the most expensive coating on the front inverted forks and it has a steering dampener and it was designed to go on twisty roads. It was never designed as a straight line bike. It has more expensive and high quality suspension than all but the race bikes. Hayabusa also has a steering angle that specifically makes it very twitchy and nimble with super light steering to make it easier to go fast on tight corners. The 2nd Gen feels better the faster you go on corners, it feels as easy to ride on corners as a 600. The 3rd Gen is supposed to be less stretched out for more comfort, with 1" closer bars. And it has much gentler suspension for road comfort but handles as good or better.

Nice review! 13:54 I'm 67 years old. I've done a 200 km tour with this Hayabusa gen3, so I can't really tell you much. What I did notice / liked is; I consumed 5.2 L/100km. I heard from 6 to 8L ! Not true! At least for me, it's the first bike that you sit in instead of on it, nice feeling! From 100 km/h the wind protection is better than on mine Pan Europe/1300. The cornering can be very fast... I'll have to watch out for this! The driving position / sitting position is amazingly relaxing, I was not comfortable in that. And yes... It is for me the first motorcycle with perfect straight-line stability that I experience! The quickshifter up and down... one word Wow! Only downside so far the engine vibrations (started at 3000 rpm) not disturbing, with my six-cylinders CBX and a Z1300 ... I have of course been spoiled. Once again Nice review Thanks 👍

I've had mine for about 5 months and have around 1200 miles on it. I'm 66 and the riding position was tough in stock form. I raised the bars 1'' with Helibars and lowered the pegs about 1 1/2'' with some cheap Amazon pegs. These modifications transformed the comfort for me (I changed to the touring wind screen). The seat is great so I can now ride this bike very comfortably for several hours. The aerodynamics are also great and with the cruise control my bike is definitely a bike you could tour with. The two bikes that my local dealer had did not sell for several months and so he eventually lowered the price by $2,000 off MSRP so there are some deals. I'm loving mine.

Great review. Loved the intro! Tbh I've never been a big fan of the looks of the Hayabusa and I'm a man of the optics. Great points about the electronic whistles. Yeah it's cool to have, but we are at a point imo where it's no longer beneficial to the rider. I feel like it's just there to be able to claim that they have something new!

I had a 2000 model hayabusa. Dyno'd 170 at the wheel. It handled pretty well. It never had any electronics... but no bike did back then. I loved it. Did some big tours on it. It was an actual "sports-tourer" to me. Im sure I couldnt go away from an adventure bike these days though.

Yep, those were so much more elemental than the new Gen-3 bike. If the right deal ever comes along on a well cared for '99 or '00 'Busa, I'll probably buy it. Especially if I can find one in the original copper and silver.

Great review. Wait until the ECU gets cracked... I waited impatiently for my '20 ZH2's ECU to get cracked; I went with the SLR tune and it's scary. It also raised the rev limiter. On my '18 Grand America, I went with a Bren Tune to restore it to previous years output and remove the speed limiter. BMW neutered the later years... My crated White / Blue came in today. It'll be busa #4; 2 gen 1 and 1 gen 2. The Brock's alien Head is on order. YES! I think it should be about $15-16K. For what I paid, I think it should have full electronic suspension. If they make that version later, (like the ZH2 did) I wonder what the MSRP would be?

The Busa is more comfortable than the 1000. I like them both, but I'd get the 1000 simply because it's lighter and handles better.

I bought a R1250rt a few weeks and was hoping I don't have any regrets as it was a choice between the bmw and the busa (the busa is only being launched in SA in October). Looks like I made the right choice, after watching about the riding position. Being over 50, I cannot see myself riding for hours without pain. Who said that the busa is a sports tourer? It seems you are mistaken the h2 sx vs the busa. Busa is all about raw power and excellent handling and if you drove one you might think otherwise. On the streets barely nothing touches the busa, it's super tourquey and handles like a sports bike. I know cause I had gen 1 and 2 for quite a long time. Gen 3 is in the cards for me and I also had 2 gs's. No comparison between the 2 bikes. Gs is really good but power wise it doesn't come even close to a busa. And why against the electronics? Nowadays even a scooter comes with traction control so a beast like the busa is heaven with electronics.

How would this bike fit someone that is 5.6? And if you had to pick between a Hayabusa and a CBR1000RR, what would you go with? I'm about to pull the trigger on one of the two.

You'd be on your tip-toes, but it might still be manageable. I'm not sure what the lowering options are for the Gen-3. Personally, I'd probably go with the Honda, but you can't go wrong with either one. Good luck.

The new blade is too much race focused, excellent bike but race bike. With a busa on the road you will still be super fast but stay relatively relaxed when compared to a top end power bike like the fireblade. I am currently selling my blade to get the new busa in fact.

I'm 172 cm and think the cramped feeling depends on your personal preference. I previously had a GSX-S1000FA, a sport tourer according to Suzuki, but I don't think this Gen3 Busa has a less comfortable seating position. But it offers significantly more comfort, more power and confidence in fast corners. On my other bikes I have never reached a 40 degree lean angle.

Having never ridden a busa, but always lusting after big power, but still having manageable mobility, the zx10r has ruined all other bikes for me personally. All about ride style. You want a straight line missile, busa or Zx14, but IMHO the ZX10R is the best bang for buck in its class

The sale price is also dictated by number of bikes sold. For example Suzuki will sell far more of their other models compared with the Busa’s so that will clearly affect the overall sale price. So to that effect I really don’t think the price is too far out there these days. Other big bikes with advanced electronics have also had price hike. Example, Ducati’s latest V4 Multistrada is 2 grand more than the gen 3 Busa. I have winced at the price but I’m going to lay down my deposit this week. I’ll square it with the wife later when *m feeling a little braver. Btw Heli make higher clip ons and there are lowered pegs a bailable for the gen2 so I’m guessing they’ll fit the gen3 too.

Busa is a sofa next to any new generation racer. Had the rr year 2020 k67 currently I own the fireblade 2021. Both are as a racer should be, uncomfortable and very much focused on performance. The busa is performance and comfort in a very beautiful package.

Expensive? Everything is. But comparing it with other bikes, it is loaded for the price. And many aren't available at any price, as they can't comply with Euro emission requirements. Try riding one of those.

I owned 2 Gen 1 Busa's and a Gen 1 Zx14. For me the Big 14 was way better. But hold on ..... the new Busa has up and down quickshifter and cruise control... WOW

I find it hilarious that your perception of this review is so warped. This, my friend, was a largely positive review. I even went so far as to call the bike otherworldly and even showed B-roll of my 1999 Motorcyclist Magazine with the first Hayabusa on the cover. Agreed. The problem is that Suzuki is banking on the Hayabusa's popularity right now, relying on it as their flagship machine. What Suzuki really needs is stuff that can compete with the MT-07 and the Z900 series.

The thing is, I was expecting much, much more from This new Hayabusa. Something with a turbo or a supercharger to compete with Kawasaki H2. So, it was a disappointment to me. But I'm hopeful that Suzuki is overcoming it's struggles. The new Suzuki 8s and vstrom seems a step in the right direction.👍🇵🇹
