There is nothing better than unboxing a brand new engine. She looks great in white on that boat.

I love the white. I just got the Black 20 and started the break in process over the weekend. I got elec start and trim and man, is that convenient for me. This is my first Suzuki but so far so good. I have no regrets on the purchase so far.

Great video and helpful. Just ordered this same 20 hp white from Online Outboards yesterday. It will be my first real outboard. I have been using a trolling motor. My question is do I need to test it from home before using it on the boat?

I just got mine and tried to use muffs and it wouldnt suck in the water. I had to put pressure on the muffs to get a good seal. I ended up using a bucket.

This is so weird that they included first the 27oz oil notice and the no-muff, water level warning. I just bought the same white in mid Dec, same exact one. It did not come with any of such warnings. I was told my serial number puts the manufacture date around August '21.
@ericsitizma76002 жыл бұрын
I think it’s the specific dealer that put that on, not Suzuki. Doesn’t even make sense because where they say the water level should be to run Is like a foot above where the engine actually sits when on the boat in water, the 27 oz seemed accurate, but everything else doesn’t make sense, cool you picked up on it.

@@ericsitizma7600 my outboard didn't have any of those stupid stickers and I'm not sure why the heck I'd have to have the outobard in a barrel when the muffs do a fine job putting water exactly where it needs to be. NUTS!
@aljohnson11912 жыл бұрын
I just got the same motor from online outboards and they came with the same instructions saying not to use muffs. The owner’s manual doesn’t say anything about not using muffs, i think they just included the instructions saying don’t use muffs for liability reasons

How long did it take to receive the motor after ordering?
@old-patriot45092 жыл бұрын
I'm confused. What is with the "no muffs" and "water to here" warnings??? Shouldn't the cav plate be even with the bottom of the transom??? That would put the water level near the same height as the cav plate, not 9" above it like the warning shows. Does this motor really have to sit that deep in the water, or does the warning only apply to running it in a barrel?
@nicks12942 жыл бұрын
Only running in a barrel. It’s just saying don’t run it on muffs out out of the water and to use a barrel / bucket deep enough to supply the water level as stated. Some engines need to be submerged deep to have proper back pressure. The motor can run very differently on muffs vs submerged in water, making you think the motor isn’t running properly
@ericsitizma76002 жыл бұрын
Yeah it makes no sense, it was put on by dealer. The motor definitely doesn’t need to sit that deep, even running in a barrel.

What year is that tracker? I have a 2005 v14 it’s rated to 40hp I just ordered a 30hp tohatsu so we will see how that goes haha. Interesting I think you said that max on yours is 15
@ericsitizma76002 жыл бұрын
Honestly shocked by that. It’s a v14 guide 2012 and plate on on boat that says max hp 15. 2022 models have max hp of 20hp. Are u sure you have the model right? A 40 hp would probably bring the boat the boat to 40 or 50 mph, there’s no way haha

@@ericsitizma7600 Yea the model is right lol yellow sticker says 40mph max on my boat, 4 people or 950 pounds. If you search 2005 tracker v14 boats.za.net shows the specs for the 05. I have to say I’m really impressed with the motor, one pull start every time this year and I “trust it” if you know what I mean, no worries about if it will start or leave me stranded. Basically 1/2 throttle is ideal and bring me to 20 mph. At full throttle she goes just under 30 mph, although my boats small (14ft) it’s heavy with the floor I put in it and stuff. Happy as can be imo, go for it
