2022 Tesla Model X 5 Seater or Tesla Model X 6 Seater! Which One Would You Buy?

We are 72 and currently own a 2022 MYP and are considering moving UP to a new MX LR as a SPLURGE. While we might need more than 5 seats when the grandkids visit once a year, we'll save the $$$ and rent a vehicle as needed. The difference between the 5-seat Tax Credit Edition and a 7-seat X is $11K. So that's our plan a 5-seat Tax Credit Edition later this fall.

I just took delivery of my 7 seater. I chose it because it's almost the same as 5 seats, but provides the extra utility to carry more poeple if needed. I don't like 6 seats sacrificing trunk space (I think the 2022 refresh 6 seats cannot fold the last row).

I believe the 3rd row is still foldable on the new 2022 six seater but great choice on getting the 7

i have a Tesla Model X 7 Seater of my own and love it but I hate to say this if I’m paying hella money for the Model X, what makes you go with a 5 seater? Over a 6 or 7 seater, I get the whole space thing but I also have a model y with the third row and can fold the second and third row down and have a good enough amount of room with just that for about half the price of my X. What would make you still go with the 5 Seater? I mean it’s only a little bit more money for more seats and it’s already an expensive car.

This answers many questions I had in mind for comparing the 5 and 6 seat ^^ I have a 2022 M3 and have had a CT reservation since 2020, finally being able to test drive the latter earlier today as well the MX again, and am increasingly leaning to MX living in more urban/suburban space~

You had a 6 seater and now you have a new 5 seater that says it all. Myself being a 17 x 6 seater owner , I’d never pay the premium for 6 seater again, not worth it at all. I have 2 young kids , rarely using the third row , 6 seater don’t make any sense neither for hauling people (not enough legroom) or hauling stuff, not enough cargo

I believe the 7 seater is the best option. This 6 seater was also a loaner car from Tesla and did not belong to me. My purchased one was the 5 seater

i like the 6 seats i know you sadly loose that extra storage with the 6 and 7 seater but i like the 6 seater because it looks pretty and if i had a wife and 3 kids i would go to the 5 seater if i had 3 kids and hate being stuck next to each other 6 seater it is cause i love it so much!!

It's pretty cool the space on the six-seat configuration, but the extra passenger is a +1 for me, and I don't want to waste battery moving the seats. But the six-seat configuration allows for better leg space in the third row.

6 seaters allow easier access to 3rd row. so hard to get in and out of the 3rd row with a 7 seater. I have a 7 seater X with a family of 6. It’s very annoying having to move the middle row and them climbing in and then manually adjusting the middle row so there’s enough foot room. With a 6 seater it’s in and out no complaints.

I would prefer 6 seater because as kids grow it can be annoying when they say they touched me or argue a lot so 6 seater is perfect because people can have space and they’re not touching each other 7 seater doesn’t have that much legroom in the third row

I bought the LR for just this reason. Having the middle row not fold down is a big problem. Remember the roof really sloped in the back so anything tall and you can't close the rear. I think the 6 seater looks nice but is not practical unless you plan on using it for people mover and not much else. Get the LR, it's a beast. They have slowed the initial launch a bit but after about 30mph it is the fastest Model X ever besides the plaid of course. Hoping they release a boost update like they did the Y LR. Trust me though, it is downright fast!

I’ve had the 5, 6 and 7 seater X. I like the 6 seater the best. It would be tough between the 5 and 6. I would not pay for the 7. The 7 isnt comfortable so we never used it except for very short distances

@@POGAuto the 5 seat in the 7 is fine. The back row is too tight and claustrophobic. It’s not worth paying more and carrying the extra weight. The 6 seater feels a lot more airy than the 5 and 7. If I didn’t want to pay up for the 6. I would just get the 5.

@@cwang9915 The back row should not be any tighter than the 6 seater but yes you can't put your legs down the middle like you could in the 6 seater. 7 seater also adds the vents in the back and I believe also allows the middle row to be more adjustable (move front/back). I got the 7 so in case there is a 6th passenger they could go back there for a short trip. I do leave it folded down most of the time and it looks just like the 5 seater.

@@kumsman in pure legroom if you take away the ability to put your leg down the middle, yes it is the same. But in practice it feels much better in the 3rd in the 6 seat. When I had the 7, I kept the 3rd row down almost the entire time. With my 6 I keep the 3rd row up 100% of the time. It is comfortable enough for me and I am 6'1 whereas I felt claustraphobic in the 7 back. Opening up the middle makes a big difference especially because the roof slopes down in the back
