How do you know if a card is a short print or not?

Usually it is flipped around in the pack and after you open enough cards you can tell when the image is different than his "base" image. Also the last two numbers on the serial code of the back are different from the base

Also... SP are often "non-baseball" photos. So instead of getting an in-game action picture, they often are of the player standing around. Not a hard rule, but something to look for as you do the preliminary skim through a pack.

Its not his regular rookie. Its actually a "Short Print" they printed way less of them and you can tell by the different picture compared to the base photo and the two last serial numbers on the back of the card are different from the base! Super rare

Yea its tough because ESPN usually doesn't have the games on unless its a big game/CWS. SEC network usually has games on, FS1, and MLB network

I normally find comps from sold prices on eBay or for higher end cards I use Vintage Card Prices and Auction House results. If you want a hard copy though I believe Beckett comes out with an SMR price guide each year. Just tough because the prices fluctuate fairly frequently
