Is it safe to assume you aren’t Canadian? I know in the U.S. it’s called the Camry TRD, but in Canada it’s very much an add-on package for the XSE V6, hence the name. (To get technical, Toyota Canada refers to it as the 2022 Toyota Camry XSE V6 - TRD, but I took the liberty of dropping the dash.)

This is a great car. I wanted one, especially now in this blue. But I would rather have a new Honda Civic Si or Sport Touring Hatchback, even with less power. The rear seat not folding down is a deal breaker for me, unless you have the luxury and place to keep this as a second car. It is what it is. It has a V6 engine from the XSE, but is based on an SE to make it affordable, just like the Si does not have all the bells and whistles, but it does have much more, with the Bose Stereo, wireless Android Auto, and more. The power is adequate. People always complain about that, but it is made that way for many reasons for a purpose those people won't understand. If you want all the Goodues, that's what the TRD Avalon is for, but not sure if they discontinued it. If youbwant more power, look to the aftermarket. Toyota rather have a car withnand engine and drivetrain that is reliable and dependable and lasts 300K+ miles. FWD is fine for me, and I could care less about dual zone A/C. But they could at least put the JBL system in the TRD, even withnthe smaller head unit. Even the Corolla SE has the JBL system as an option. I couldn't care less about the satellite radio. I live in Hawai'i, abd we don't have that available, and I wouldn't use it anyway. For the people that have complaints, thet could also not have choices of specialty out of the box factory performance vehicles like this, they probably wouldn't buy or can afford anyway. They should go find an affordable used car and fix it up how they want, since the seem to be the experts with all the resources to build a better car that those they criticize.

I’m literally trading my 2023 civic sport for a 2023 Camry xse v6. The cvt transmission is trash and super laggy, it’s slow, noisy cabin, and when I say slow I mean, super slow. Good luck but I say stay away

It would have been my next car, but as a father with kids not having an armrest in the backseat with cupholders is a total deal breaker for me. Otherwise i think its a great car and a hell of a deal. That also goes for the new elantra N, no armrest in the back ( deal breaker ).

Dan, Until someone comes up with a better analogy, I will credit Toyota for offering a modern version of the Plymouth Road Runner. Like that renowned muscle car of the late 60s, the TRD Camry has actually stripped away frills to offer more performance at a lower price. I cannot remember the last time that formula was used for the benefit of the consumer. Having said all that, Toyota Motor Corporation took one step forward with the TRD Camry and two giant leaps backwards when they thought the Corolla Apex would fly in a market denied the GR Yaris.

If it had 300 of torque power and like 350 HP with AWD and a manual transmission, then it would be perfect... But automatic transmission and just front wheel drive without a bit more of power is a no no... I'm not saying it's a bad car, but they killed the enthusiasm that they woked up with that beautiful design and spoiler which make it looks so bad ass...

It has the TRD cat-back exhaust, but otherwise there are no power-adders. As @Mrawesomeness53 mentioned, you could start with something like an intake, but aftermarket support might be slim for a car like this. Most importantly, make sure whatever you buy is from a reputable manufacturer and sold through a reputable retailer. Cheers!
