The 2023's are objectively better than these in pretty much every way, but for viewers interested in something like a PHEV that would rather avoid the fight to get one of the new ones, I appreciated the post of a previous model! This was also a great demonstration of merging onto a highway in a PHEV with a good battery charge, which isn't something you see a lot in reviews / driving videos for these. Looks like it can handle getting up to highway speeds in EV mode fairly well as long as you aren't in a hurry. Thanks for posting!

The acceleration in EV mode in the '22 Prime is VERY similar to the acceleration of my 2002 Classic Prius. VERY quick 0-30 and then it falls on its face.

@@aspecreviews This is good input! It's nothing amazing, but that 0 - 30 is what counts around town most of the time.

I like that the 2022 has better headroom and visibility, otherwise the 2023 seems better on all counts

Why does some cars have the speedometer more in the front of the car? Like instead of a normal housing, and does that type have a name?
@CitarNosis317 Жыл бұрын
Toyota, Citroen did this a lot. "Centrally Mounted Instrument Cluster" is a name for it I guess. For me it looks very odd lol.
@rorri23722 ай бұрын
The Prius is an extremely different and quirky car compared to any other. It had to have a cluster like that. I actually like it a lot, pretty easy to see while driving and has a ton of options. Unfortunately the new gen Prius got rid of that and seems it's very poorly placed
@mikeplays_yt832 Жыл бұрын
I’m not. Big fan of how the speedometer is in the middle of the dash and hard to see you could easily go over the speed limit due to not being able to see your speed that good.
@aspecreviews Жыл бұрын
I love it. Not a big a focus change and surprisingly EASIER to see than a traditional speedo.

My commute would cost $2000 more a year for a 2L/100km economy loss going to a regular hybrid like a Camry.
