So fun fact about the Supra's 12 speaker system and the lacking bass: It seems like the subs were designed to be ported, but the box is sealed. There are provisions in the chassis for ports to come out of the box, and it's pretty well detailed on the Supra forums on how to modify the box to add the ports. Apparently, the subs completely change character once you add the ports to the box. Pretty interesting, if you ask me. Sincerely, some random guy who would love to see what the sound tuning process is like and would like to have a nice word with the people who tuned the sound systems in the 10th gen Honda Accord.

Very fun note, thanks for sharing! And also love the comment on the Accord. The weakest part of that car for sure.

I don't think they are "Designed to be ported" as they are Free Air speakers. The fiberglass box is wide open on the rear side - and the "Ports" in the metal of the car are to allow more airspace on the rear side. If you open those up, it will allow out of phase rear wave information to cancel out the front wave. A "Port" would be designed to invert the rear wave at a specific frequency and add db in that specific frequency (With a slope on either side of course)

Own one. Stock, the radio has Zero Bass. It uses two Subwoofers, but all you really get from them stock is a nasty rattling sound that isnt Bass. From factory, they're placed in a location that looks a lot like a subwoofer box, but it is in fact not sealed off whatsoever. So the air leaks everywhere. Once you seal off the location the subs are placed, and even add a port for a designated place for air to escape the radio sounds pretty amazing. It really doesn't sound like it gets all that loud for a 500 watt system though. It really sounds a lot closer to 300-350w

The lack of Android Auto is Fucking annoying on a Current Gen vehicle. And I don't think the Maps when you're in CarPlay transfer to your HUD. They only do that when using Toyotas Maps outside CarPlay. Lack of USB-C kinda sucks, but in a car USB-A is going to be way more rugged anyway. My car also keeps forgetting radio stations I program to the 1-9 buttons. Idk what's up with that.

Im coming from a 2007 toyota Yaris and I think the factory JBL system is amazing. Then again, I had very low standards.

Seems every Toyota JBL is B tier.

They’ve gotten a little bit more consistent. Previously a lot of them hover around C or C+. For the majority of Toyotas it seems appropriate, though on some of their more expensive cars, it seems a bit lacking.

Probably not, but they have links in the description if you'd like to download them and put them on a USB.

I owned a 2020 GR Supra and it was BY FAR the worst factory audio system I have heard. The audio system in my 2020 Ford F-150 work truck blows it out of the water (which is truly sad).
