I too own a 23 TRD , Off Road, Double Cab,Long Bed, (6’). The longer wheel base gives it a more comfortable ride when compared with the 5’ bed. When camping sleeping in a 6’ bed is comfortable, so I honestly don’t know how anyone could sleep in a 5’ bed. I absolutely love our (my) Tacoma 6’ bed and would recommend a long bed to everyone

Got mine in white 2 days ago with xp predator package. Traded in my 2020 ford ranger XLT fx2. Never hated the ranger nor did I ever really love it. Hands down the bounciest ride I have ever experienced in a truck. The little turbo was a quick ass little engine. But the 10 speed auto was my least favorite part of that truck. General shifting was smooth. Any sort of slight aggressive driving needed....that transmission was just plain dumb. The ride in the Tacoma feels nice and planted. Minimal pitch and body roll, the V6 is good enough for me. And I used to own a 2019 dodge challenger scat pack 392 making 485 hp. That car was a brute so I am no stranger to power. 6 speed transmission is just fine. The interior on the Tacoma is near identical in quality and feel of the ranger. Hard plastics and user friendly. Especially with kids. Sure the Toyota cost more. But I didn't feel as if that ranger would still be going strong after several years of ownership. This Tacoma...I'm eager to pile on the miles and not give two shits. Should have just bought one 2 years ago. Oh well, I got it now.

I had a friend buy a Tacoma 7 years ago to travel to university with after he packed on the miles he sold it for almost what he paid brand new off the lot.. tacomas hold their value

What do you say to the people saying "but the mpg is so bad"? I want to get one so bad but I don't have a comeback for that yet. I guess something like "I would rather go to the gas station more than the service station more".

@@bcw686well...you aren't required to say anything. Your choice is your choice. You want a Tacoma for you not for them. My ranger averaged 23.5 city. My Tacoma averages 21. Highway the ranger averaged 27. The Tacoma averages 25.5. Soo really it's not like it is some huge difference. Is it a difference. Yes, of course. But I bought that Tacoma to last me a long time. I don't feel as if that ranger would hold up anywhere near as long. 9,000 miles on my Tacoma and I'm very happy I got rid of the ranger. The Tacoma is just more useful in every way for what I like in a truck. And looks way better.

@@therangersinger Very true about not saying anything yes, I didn't know it was that close honestly. Which one do you have? Also, I like the idea of the new Maverick. But if you didn't think the Ranger would hold up a long time then I assume it goes for that too

Yep, white is right. Nice clean look. 6ft bed rules also. 4 doors are a must so much better that way. As far as the trim goes SR5 is the way to go. You couldnt have said it better, thanks for the awesome truck review.

Yeah overall its the same as last year. They had a slight refresh in 2020. I notice Tacomas's normally dont get updated too often so we won't see a new generation probably until at least 2025.

Wishful thinking here. If they can build a double 4 dr. crew cab with a 6' bed, why can't they use this same platform/chassis with a standard single cab with a 7.5'-8' bed? Or a access cab with a 7' bed? That extra bed length/space would be invaluable for building out a truck bed topper/camper. I don't need 4 doors on a truck c'mon Toyota.

Agreed, the wheels are nice. At least when optioning the vehicle out online, its a free upgrade for these wheels. So if you go into a dealer, ask them if they have the wheels available instead of the standard ones. I'm sure to close you on the deal, they can figure out how to get you those wheels.

At least on the 2022 SR5, they are not stock. Toyota has three options, either the 3 inch round tubes in chrome, 5 inch oval tubes in black, and 5 inch oval tubes in chrome. This one looks to have the 5 inch oval tubes in black.
