Trek has updated quite a few bikes across its line up for this/next year. The new Top Fuel is an excellent choice for the types of trails most found in this part of the country.

Unless I was going carbon on the top fuel I get the impression I'd rather have the ripley af. I definitely get along with the geo on the ripley better, especially with the ease up boosting the fork to 140, a 65 ht really feels like the sweet spot for me. Super comfortable reach numbers too. But I definitely agree, trek is moving in the right direction for sure (especially with those accidental tan walls, that needs to be standard, especially with that blue. So good)

Hi Cobra Kyle, how do You rate polygon xtrada compared to top brand like trek? especially in climbing and how fast the bike on the flat track
@mikeskiest78173 жыл бұрын
Hahah welcome to the fam bro. Love mine Fuel EX 8 now with a 2021 haha. I send mine off anything. Mine is more of a trail/aggressive trail. Was a 140/130 but bump the fork up to 150. Great video though.

@CobraKyle3 жыл бұрын
I'm happy with the 120mm fork. I had a 140mm bike before this, but I'm still riding the same trails and don't feel like the bike can't handle it. Trek really nailed the design on this one!

I laughed at the BKXXXC. I'm still shocked you got it. Too bad there wasnt a montage of you telling me my Trek sucked! haha I'm kidding of course. I am really jealous of that in frame storage! I dont know if I'll buy another Trek but I do like that I can easily go to the store and test ride.
@CobraKyle3 жыл бұрын
I was so proud of that joke haha. I had the idea of doing a whole section talking about how you've been right this whole time. Treks are great, everyone should have a bidet, etc... but only you and I would have gotten the joke. I have another bike in for review right now, and I'm so bummed it has no in frame storage. It certainly spoils you!

@@MP19861 😀 I went aluminum with the 8. Great bike. Though the 9.7 would have need easier to lift and put on the roof rack of my Tucson.

Welcome to the dark side. 😁. You have to do what you have to do. But hating on the Marlin is sad. At more than a third less the price it is a good bike. If nothing else for entry level. Not everyone can drop that kind of money. I do hope you will enjoy it and I am jealous 😳 thanks for sharing this with us. Good to see you again.

Random question how does it jump
@CobraKyle3 жыл бұрын
I haven't had much air time on this bike yet, but the few jumps I have hit it felt pretty good. I personally like shorter bikes as they feel more poppy. I don't have any high speed jumps close to me, and I think it would feel a bit more sketchy in the air at high speeds, but for slow to medium jumps, I've enjoyed it quite a bit.

Wow good eye! Most people comment on the Telecaster, but it's a 1995 Epiphone Sheraton. I don't really play guitar much anymore, but so hard to get rid of those guitars!

That Escarpe is a sweet looking ride. Hard to beat a carbon front triangle at its $3300 price point but even with it, the listed weight of the 29er on Wiggle's website translates to 32 lbs 11 ounces, a tad heavier than that all alloy Top Fuel 8. Another added benefit of going with the Trek imho is that although you ended up paying $500 more, the Escarpe shown in the vid looks like a 2021 model so you might get some of that back in resale value with the '22 model Trek. That'll factor in if it's a bike you only plan on having for a year or two. Was looking at the spec sheets of the two bikes trying to find out which one is spec'd better. Not sure really how to compare a lower travel XC fork with a trail fork like the Pike but a DebonAir SID sounds pretty darn good to me. I guess the rear shock and wheels would factor in pretty significantly on which bike is the better value.

NO WAY!! 🤯 I don't know what I just watched 😭lol Seriously though, sweet bike! I actually joined the Trek club recently too, picked up a Trek Fuel EX 5 at a local shop. Agree their lower-end bikes suck, but their higher-end stuff is pretty competitive, especially with the price of other brands jumping to Trek levels 😛Awesome to see a new video on the greatest KZbin channel, watch out BKXXXC!
@TeoSluga3 жыл бұрын
Nice bike with some quality suspension 👍 Bike industry should return to metal frames and make bikes more affordable. Unless you are building a light machine with 1kg frame you do not need a carbon frame at all.

My beef with Trek is in how they systematically dismantled the Gary Fisher brand. The Roscoe used to be a rad 150mm FS bike. I had one, and replaced it with a Yeti. I won't say the Yeti wasn't the better bike, but I still missed the roscoe sometimes. But it was a direct competitor to a bike in the Trek lineup so they simply dismissed it with the rest of the Fisher brand. Not trying to be a gatekeeper for Fisher or anything but it did taint my opinion of Trek as a brand to see them simply dismiss their association with a cornerstone and foundational legend in mtb.
@marksandoval53613 жыл бұрын
If only we could actually buy a Top Fuel? With excessive demand, supply shortages, and price gouging, even if you get lucky enough to find one, you won't be able to afford it. It will probably be years before these problems straighten out so I guess I'm stuck with the bike I already have. Thanks for letting me rant.
