I don't know how others feel but for me this match and the whole event captures the true essence of golf. All the practice and dedication of family and support teams for a chance to achieve golfing immortality. The course, the spirit of the players and supporters, everything about this event was beautiful and I could watch it all day - and indeed women's professional golf too. Let the multi-millionaire men continue to wallow in their misery for having to play golf (or should I say, drive, pitch and putt) for a living. I will take this form of golf any day. Thank you to the USGA, to Chambers Bay (members, staff and volunteers), to the Golf Channel, to all the players, and especially to Monet Chun and Saki Baba.

Holy crap! Saki was locked in! Anyone know what she would have shot/how many under she was by the end? It looked like she birdied almost every hole they televised.

I might be a little off but I think she shot 12 birdies and I reckon she was about 10-under par, maybe even 11-under, for 27 holes. After she lost holes 2 and 3 in the afternoon session she won the next 6 holes to close out and I think 5 of those holes were birdies. I was just imagining standing on the first tee on Monday morning looking out over all those bunkers and elevation changes and being told what a 17-year old girl had just played it in. Holy crap would have been my reaction too!

I don't think that I'll be going out on a limb by saying that Saki will have more top 10 finishes on the lpga tour before she turns 25 than Wie had in her entire career. And that's also taking into account that the field of talent is so much more deeper, and quality of play on tour is much improved as compared to 5-15 yrs ago.
