I bought a C40 in April 2022 and so far, I love it. I drove 5 other EV models before my final decision. I agree with most of what you have said. Because I use my car primarily for daily driving, the range is not an issue for me. The exterior design is beautiful and unique, which was a major selling point for me. The interior is so comfortable and the steering is great. As for the regen breaking, I absolutely love the simplicity of it. On or off. Done. I don’t need paddles. I did tried out some other EVs that have different drive modes and decided not necessary. I have a hard enough time choosing toothpaste; I don’t need more decisions in my car. Of course, this is a preference thing, as others love all the choices. I also really like the center screen size, unlike some EVs that have screens you can’t ignore. I admit, there are some things I would change, like the front display setting options, but not a deal breaker. And of course, it would be nice to have a faster charge rate and longer range, but again, not necessary for how I am using the car. I just charge every few days from my hardwired garage charger. Overall, I am extremely happy with my C40 and still love driving it every day. (Traded in a Lexus IS250 and a Porsche Boxter S, and don’t regret it)

I love my Fjord Blue C40 Recharge. The boy is a beast of a power, slick, simply designed, sexy as it’s curves and power. It has gotten so many compliments from strangers (at Costco), family, friends especially on the color. The mountain ranges inscribed on the dash and windows make it a absolute delight “gives me a lounge kind of relaxing environment”. The google built in architecture is flawless, and Perhaps the most iconic feature of the new 2022 Volvo C40 is its stylish exterior. The sloping roofline, modern interior, and ecstatic demeanor make it a formidable contender in the compact SUV segment. With OTA 2.2 software update, the Apple Car Play is awesome!. I am an iPhone geek, but have been an Android guy too! There is just enough space for grocery bags stashed from Trader Joe’s, Costco or whatever! I have had buddies driving Teslas Model Y, X…who are impressed with its sexiness and versatility. I still cannot spot a C40 in and around 6 states where I live. It’s a very special and unique product that I believe Volvo head honchos did a solid work with. The sustainability processes and materials used in the development process makes me as an Owner feel like a sustainable maven. So long to the gasoline stupidity! 🙌🙂.

An excellent video..I really like my blue C 40. I don't like S.U.Vs and I can clean my car without having to stand on something. There is no need to turn off the stupid lane correction system each time I set off and entertainment and settings are easy to use. The only thing missing for me is a rear wash wipe.

If you look at the EX90 that was revealed on Nov. 9 ('22) you will get an idea of what the EV60 and EV90 (EV wagons) will be like, though it might be some time before we see them. Volvo says it will be rolling out one new EV per year. The EX90 will probably be a 2024 model and I'm guessing the EX60 will come in 2025. The EV wagons will also be competing with the ES60, ES90 (EV sedans) and possibly other models for release date.

I own a C40 since January of 2022 and recently took it to Dallas for a 900 mile road trip. Not once did I have an issue with rear visibility. The rear design is creative and phenomenal and you just need to get good at the basics of driving by looking and driving forward. You seldom should be looking at the rear unless you are a fan of speeding and want to be pulled over.

Hi Ken, I don't have the definitive answer but I think it could be because of the battery type has changed from lithium ion to the newly developed Sodium ion battery, which has a 50% higher capacity for the same size battery ! Recently saw a video on KZbin about it, type in the KZbin search bar....Sodium ion battery !

I work for Volvo; all of the blue carpeting is recycled materials (mostly recycled plastic) and the inlay was chosen because it is a topographic map of national parks in Sweden. Amazing how little research you do before reviewing cars
@EVPulse
@EVPulse 2 жыл бұрын
Craig didn't criticize the design of the inlay, but rather the material and the backlighting. The topographic maps could've been designed into any type of material. He also loved the carpeting. So while yes, he didn't mention that it was a topographical map, the fact it's a topographical map isn't why he didn't care for it. So, umm, not really sure why you're going full jerk here? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In this segment, a lot of them kinda do (that smaller, crossover group). The GV60, Hyundai Ioniq and Kia EV 6actually *are* pretty much the same. the Audi and ID.4 look similar (and are same base). Toyota/Subaru same. Mach-E is fairly unique but kinda the same look as that Hyundai group. This one does stand out.

feel sorry for electric car drivers and future owners. They will simply have to learn the hard way .. as I did. These things are a huge hassle, all those lost hours sitting in those charging stations, huge anxiety, plus a outrageous expense in the long run. Good luck trying to sell a used Electric car with wore out battery modules. You'll find out nobody wants to pay the ridiculous price of batteries ... Batteries are very ... very expensive to replace ( thousands and thousands of dollars) ... and make no mistake, you will be replacing them. These batteries are highly toxic to our environment, with a high potential for disaster to our surroundings. DON'T FOOL YOURSELF and CERTAINLY, DON'T LISTEN TO A SALESMAN , ... LITHIUM BATTERIES ARE NOT GREEN CLEAN ENERGY BY ANY MEANS! ... I wish I knew all this before I bought my car . Do your homework before buying !

I agree completely. We drive Jaguars, and asked the dealer how much it would be to replace the batteries in a Jaguar I-Pace (all electric) when they stopped holding charge ... 1) The dealer was reluctant to give a price, because no one has the tools, equipment or training to carry out the procedure. 2) When pressed for a rough price, we were told £30,000 - plus labour! That's now. In several years, when EV drivers will be looking to replace their batteries, this cost will have risen so high, replacement will be out of the question, because the car (6+ years old) will be worth less than the battery replacement cost. While electric vehicles' speed goes from 0 to 60 mph in 5 seconds, their value will go from £60k to 0 in 5 years.
@joeb4294
@joeb4294 2 жыл бұрын
@@johnmachinmegavegan8378 Nonsense. Overall, the traction battery in EVs have rarely had any issues. EV batteries are covered by a mandatory 8-year (or 100,000 mile) warranty. For some EVs, the battery does degrade faster than others but these are the cheapest EVs on the market in the first place.
@stefanhaglund1665
@stefanhaglund1665 2 жыл бұрын
Far too expensive for that driving range, in my opinion. One should expect at least some 500+ km for that kind of money. Not below 500 km. No surprise Volvo is selling poorly in Sweden right now, as Sweden is doing its transition into electric cars. 28% of the new cars sales, in Sweden, is now electric cars, and Volvo is a bit behind in that race.
