I believe the annoying shifter is for safety. Accidentally shifting into into drive or reverse when you intended the opposite could be dangerous. This is more important when parking. I agree with putting neutral in between drive and reverse, even if it adds an extra step.
@MichaelReeves4123 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Volvo Employee for 4+ years. Although it could be considered for safety, it is primarily to reduce space needed for a traditional shifter and tends to be more reliable on account of it being primarily electronic - whereas the prior automatic shifter could face potential mechanical issues (we haven’t had really any at all but going to a more reliable electronic option never hurts). Volvo loves to perfect things, even things that aren’t broken in the first place just to “future-proof” their vehicles. Some people find it’s ‘different’ at first, but after a drive or two our clients pick up on it VERY quickly. Like the touch screen, it’s a lot easier than the first impression may give
@OrionAerospaceKSP3 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelReeves412 Thanks for the reply! I was more talking about the decision to place neutral in-between drive and reverse. I'm not sure, but because people are complaining about it, this must not be the setup on some other cars. Is that intentional?

I owned a 2018 XC60 Inscription. They not only ditched the Leather fob covers but they only include 1 *real* key with the car. For the luxury segment this seems like a major blow. The orange key locks the ability to change the Driver Profile so if your spouse unlocks with that key you're locked and can't switch back to the other driver's settings.

@CarConfections3 жыл бұрын
Personally, I'd choose the 2022 because I appreciated the smoothness of the mild hybrid and the upgraded gauges in particular
@kyrilslate38513 жыл бұрын
The new infotainment is definitely not there yet but that's actually because it's designed by Google and will be updated over time. If you go with the 21 you have basically the pinnacle of what that infotainment will ever be, and you will need to go to the dealer in order to have your maps and guidance system updated. The 22 model has Google Maps build in and will be automatically updated with more apps as they get created for the new Operating System. So, in truth, your choice lies between something fully optimized, and something full of possibilities. For me personally nothing even remotely comes close to Google maps as far as guidance so I'd choose a 22.
