The difference in reality from one country to another is incredible. Here in Brazil a basic Golf GTI 2019 costs around 200 minimum wages. It's crazy to see people finding 40k expensive in a vehicle like that. Obviously, the economic difference between the places is very clear, but it's too sad. If a Golf like that arrived in Brazil, it would easily reach 500 minimum wages.

It is but leather seating was standard on the SE MK 7.5 with an MSRP of 35k. It’s a jump anyway you cut it.

Volkswagen have lost their minds charging what they're charging for GTI's... it's absurd! They can't even give SiriusXM radio with or as an option for ALL trim levels now. They don't even give the Volkswagen and TSI badges on that cheap flexible engine cover. I could go on for the next 10 minutes. They have the nerve with those prices they're charging! Until some changes are made -- like real buttons for climate and infotainment system -- and get real with their prices I will be sticking with my MK7. I like the smoother Mk7/Mk7.5 body style better anyway. Don't get me wrong... the Mk8's are nice and have some very cool features. But those new prices are ridiculous. Even if money were no object I would have to think long and hard about pricing. It is, after all, still only a 4-cylinder when all is said and done! Love GTI's... my favorite cars of all time. But I think I'll just sit this one out after finally seeing and trying one. Not enough, and priced too high to persuade me to switch from my current GTI. Nice review though, friend! 🙂

My SE doesn’t have cornering lights. I’ve seen some videos with cornering lights and my window sticker mentions cornering lights. Is this a chip shortage thing? Or should I complain to the dealer? Thank you.

Unfortunately, I think that Harmon Kardon is done for the 2022 model year. Everything is coming with Harmon Kardon deletes on them, even Golf R. Unless you can find one that is already built with Harmon Kardon in it, you will have a tough time.

Those one has the Harmon Kardon system. The later built ones will not.

Harmon Kardon is out on both Autobahn and SE trims and even Golf R currently. I think that is the case for the remainder of 2022. As for it being a charge on future models, they may do it that way next year, but just do not know yet.

They do. It only comes on the Autobahn trim level. It also comes on the Golf R.

Capacitive touch controls are the downfall of MK8 cars, I won't buy a car that uses them, there is nothing good about them...nothing. Are they safer NO, easier to use NO, do they look cool? .... yeah if you're a 12 year old.
