2022 WRX OEM Footwell Illumination Kit Install

Did anyone else lose audio between time index 3:01 and 6:10? If you could overdub your vocal instructions for others, that would be great. I'd wager the reason we lost audio is because of a YT algorithm that blocks copyrighted music from being played back without proof of a license. Other than that, great install video - thank you!

Audio cut out from about 3:00 to 6:17 but man this looks like something I can actually handle! Y junction at the dimmer switch and its all plug and play, no splicing! Thats a big W. Thanks man.

Was the plug behind the dimmer switch difficult to unplug ? I know it snaps into place with a tab but im having a heck of a time releasing it

I’m curious, by plugging it to the OEM headlight dimmer, does it control both the headlights and the LED kit simultaneously? Did you somehow disconnect the headlights and control only the LED kit? Is it better to order a new OEM dimmer in order to be able to control both the headlights and the LED kit?

Sorry about the audio. KZbin went through and muted a bunch of my videos with some older music. I don't have that issue anymore on current videos as I'm using their music now for background.

Does this consume the battery when the car is off and lights off?

If the car is off then the lights are off. It does not consume the battery. This is an oem piece so it should last the life of the car reliably

Thank you for the video. Much easier than the install on my 2011 WRX. Two questions if I may; I understand piggybacking on the dimmer switch plug but I couldn't catch how that was accomplished. Does the provided harness simply plug into the slot for power and the plug for the dash lights plug into that? Also, one needs to dim the dash lights at night. Does that dim the LED's too much? On the setup for the 2011, the footwells were illuminated with the same intensity regardless of the dimmer setting; a much more desirable outcome I should think. Thank you very much.

Hi Joey! So I finally installed these on my 2022 wrx. I was just wondering whether you noticed the same thing. The one on passenger seat is almost pitch black very dim. Unless someone sits and there’s feet then you can see the light better cause the shoes are closer to the lights. I didn’t have passenger with me today and the lights at night out side were almost non existent. Just extremely dim. It looks much brighter if I take a pic of it with my iPhone camera. Is this normal?

The before, and after pictures could’ve just been the same camera position and the same exterior lighting with you. Just turning the switch on and off. Instead, you actually did a before and after picture. I find it kind of funny.
