Is the 2022 Yamaha YZ250 that much better than the 2021 Yamaha YZ250 two stroke? We brought out both models to Glen Helen Raceway to find out. The 2022 has finally received some updates after years of BNG releases. The engines are the same and the frames are the same. So what is different? Are the changes worth the extra money? Who is the 2022 YZ250 for? We answer all these questions and more in this video to give our viewers a better idea of what its like to ride these two bikes back to back. We even did a lap time challenge to see which bike Josh Mosiman would be faster on. You might be surprised with the results!

Mxa declares 212lbs on 2022 model. Dirt bike 217lbs on 2022yz250. 5 lbs difference is huge 😵😵😵

How about the 2022 honda 450R-S vs 2022 450R vs 2022 450RX and even though the rx is the off road model some editors have said they likes it suspension and mapping better so that would make a good back to back comparison because I personally know that my new 2022 rx is way easier to ride than my than my old 2012 450x with all the basic mods like cut up air box jd jetting r&d float bowl full yoshimuria exhaust and pink wire mod it was hand full in the woods lol

The YZ250X 2 stroke is better for that, but I raced a stock 2008 YZ250 2 stroke in the woods on moto duspension and was top 8 in B class.

You said the lap time was 1 second apart. What was the lap times. I watched the CRF250r VS. video. In that video it mentioned the lap times were 2.08 and 2.10. I want to know if the Yamaha is faster than the Honda?

Can’t go by that at Glen Helen. Lap Times change by the hour there due to the track conditions.

@@straighttimestirrups thanks for the quick response. I have never rode there. I live in TN. THE 2022 YZ250 and the 2022 CRF250r are on my radar. I currently own a 2022 KX450. I am wanting to go a different route on my next bike.

I’m a two stroke guy but I grew up with them. I’m 57. Can’t go wrong with either. I have a KTM 350SXF and that’s a great bike too but the gap between 2-3 gear is too big. If I were buying new, I’d look at their 6 speed close ratio 350.

@@straighttimestirrups i am a MX vet rider 45+. I grew up riding 2 strokes. My first 4 stroke was a 2019 RMZ450. I sold it and bought a 2014 KX450 and now I have a 2022 KX450. I've recently rode 2001 KX250 2005 RM250 2004 RM125 2021 CRF250R 2022 CRF250R 2022 KTM SX250 I am most confident and have fastest lap times on my KX450 but, I had the biggest smile on my face riding the 2022 KTM250SX

@@ricktyler5430 try a yamaha 250f, I was super impressed with my 21 last year. Snappy, nimble and fast!! I ride more trails so I switched back to a yz250x but the yz250f was honesty the best bike I've ever ridden for motocross. I've also tried a lot of bikes and it pulled just as hard as some of my friends older 450s but I'm on the smaller side. And I think the bike just fit me better than a 450 too.
