Hi Mark, we bought the GK last week, it's my wife's bike but I've been running it in for her as I'm retired and can spend the day's carefully running it in and taking my time with it, and what a cracking little bike it is! So comfortable, I've done 150 miles a day on it with a few coffee and cake stops to give it a break. 326 miles so far and still not hit the last two segments on the fuel gauge! Amazing fuel consumption, it runs along very easily now at 50mph, and keeps up with traffic easily. The mirrors give a really clear view as well, unusual for bar end mirrors! I've not enjoyed a bike so much on A and B roads for ages, it handles beautifully and is so light, I'm so impressed with it, I've asked our dealer can he get the GK350 in for a test ride , it must be excellent going off how good the 125 is ! I own three other bikes but one may have to go to make room for a 350 ! Based purely on your review this is the first time we've bought a bike without a test ride, glad to say it was worth taking the chance . Cheers Mel .

Hi Mark Had the G1 for a year before I passed my test. Looks very similar to this. Absolutely fantastic bike. Zontes quality is a match for the big four. Only downside is resale value due to the prejudice against Chinese bikes. Possibly deserved in some cases but also some are top notch. If you want a bike to do CBT, test etc, you lose a lot of money. If you want a 125 to keep. Superb.

Another great review. 👍 The G1 is near perfect, so I don’t know why Zontes have messed around with it adding the electronic start to create the GK. There are numerous reported problems with the electronic start on the U and U1. They may well have just made the G1 more desirable and bumped up the residual value of them. Fine by me as I own a G1!

@@Deathscythe39 There is a black on black in the official Zontes website! I should take delivery of it soon - I agree that no need to upgrade from G1 to GK, but not having either it felt like the GK was worth the upgrades, looks badass in all black with the grey logo in the tank! Also the chassis and protections are all blacked out on the GK vs G1

@@TheAnger46 I don't disagree about the upgrades. In fact I wish G1 had the keyless tank and ignition like all the other models they have. But speaking about the colour, I like the black on black scheme and so far all I've seen it the ones Mark has in his reviews for GK 350 and now this. I know GK has a Black on Gold which looks amazing, just a shame that UK gets those 2 variants from what I recollect are 6 paint schemes

Personally after 4+ hrs on the G1 was getting a sore ass. But then that might be not used to the longer journeys and I am a bit taller. (Plus have a sore Achilles). I found if I did 1hr stints was much better and could have done 6hrs perhaps... But for learning on has been a brill experience and yes you can take one to Wales! (And you can off road). Looks like the G1 specwise but with a nicer tft! I am tempted by the GK 350 but might choose something a bit larger like the Himi/scram.

One last thing Mark, you say your height in imperial but you say your weight in metric. 75kg is a bit under 12 stone.

Nice bike for a 125, but a 150/155 would have so much more whoomph. I realise it's all about licencing laws.

As a learner bike for me at 6ft 1 I think I look too big on the G1 but its very comfy. I am on the fence whether I want something that taller etc/bigger for after test. As 125s go its def on the larger side (well the G1 is). Many people have said "is that a 125"?. P.s I just saw a KTM 390 and a CB 500x they def are a notch up in size and I think more suitable for 6fters. But ofc 125 are generally on the smaller side. Oh and I am 100kg...so if its a learner bike i'd say super/go for it. (And being hefty that was one of my fears).
