Hi Mark, I bought my TRK502 in January, 21 plate with only 373 miles on it. Great bike, no doubt, however, probably as we all do, still casually looking. Your review of the new Voge DSX525 has blown we away. What I can't understand is the difference you quote in legal speed cruising revs. The TRK doors 70 mph at around 6000 whereas the Voge is quoted to do it at 5. The Benelli seems to ever so slightly best the torque figure but the biggest difference is Tge dry weight, but just surprised at the size of the difference. Really would appreciate your feedback. Please keep up the good work and most importantly stay safe. Kind regards David Rutherford.

Hi David yes simply all bikes are geared differently...the trk 70 mph /6 k rpm voge is at 5 k rpm...the voge feels much lighter than the trk ...I did 3000 miles on the trk 502 it's brilliant but the voge is excellent 👍 Cheers mark

On the suspension travel... it's possible this could have that about its suspension, but on the roads, even if the suspension is sprung exactly the same - the larger front wheel and beefier tyres will make a noticeable difference in gliding over bumps and potholes. I noticed this big time after a few years riding scooters for my delivery job, then returned to geared bikes and suddenly potholes and bumps seemed nothing like as bad as I'd remembered them. It's all about relative perspective, although what I was riding was the cb300r, which was extremely lightweight and had showa big piston forks, which probably made an even bigger difference.

I am from India and finally got to do a longish test ride yesterday. A few salient points from the perspective of someone who currently rides a Versys 1000: + Very comfortable and natural ergonomics + Had read a lot of reviews of the engine being smooth despite being a single, but the test ride was a revelation in terms of just how smooth! + Paint quality seems quite nice + The 2nd gear is almost like an automatic - it plays comfortably from absolutely crawling speeds and linearly pulls through to 50+ kmph without straining the engine + 100 kmph effortlessly at between 4500-5000 rpm and has more than enough breath left for overtakes. Could not take it up to the top speed range + Adequate and predicable braking + Extremely nimble and flickable - again feels unreal for a 210 kg bike - The rear suspension, switchgear quality, a few weld finishes could be better - but no deal breakers - Worried about the chain sprocket being on the same side as the exhaust - from a maintenance perspective - There's something that looks like an ECU (but was told it is not), that is fitted to the rear of the belly pan. This seems to be poorly positioned as that is the one point that the underbody might take a few hits if one if not careful - Stock seat is a little short for 2-up riding but looks good and provides adequate comfort - There isn't an option available with zero chrome :( - that's just a personal preference as maintaining chrome parts in a tropical, humid, dusty country is painful - Very little storage space for papers and basic tools, and there is no lock for the seat - Stock mirrors are too small for my liking - The indicators, albeit bright, are too small for my liking

As a new Transalp owner (18,400 kms in, and still loving it) I am staggered at the specs and price of this thing. Begs the question; how do they do it? Can't help wondering where these manufacturers, and their Japanese competitors, will be in five years or so. But that depends entirely on western acceptance of Chinese bikes, and that may take a little longer. How long can they keep offering these bikes at these prices, all Brembos and tubeless rims, if we aren't buying them? Our acceptance will depend on longer-term ride reports, and the establishment (or not) of independent dealerships. At the moment of course they tend to be additions to more established makes. This Voge is a little heavy, but then has SO MUCH by way of options, it's no wonder. So at this point we all just have to 'keep an open mind' and see where this goes. I notice the odd CFMoto turning up at our bike gatherings, and they have taken over a large part of the Honda dealership I bought my Transalp from. Our world is changing.

Another top review Mark. Let’s be perfectly honest here - this IS a BMW F900GS just in different clothes. The Chinese are now doing what some of the big car manufacturers did 20 years ago and just building lots of different brands under one big roof. If I had the choice of this or the Beemer at twice the price, fully specced up, it would be a complete no brainer. The West really needs to wake up and either create some really good bikes at fair prices for their brand or start rethinking whether they should be building bikes at all. I’ve always supported the big name manufacturers over the best decades of my riding years, but the value and spec of these machines can no longer be mocked or ignored entirely.

I was about to order this ebike on Buy Best Gear, but then I saw the automatic opt-in for adding a tip😮 What on earth is that all about? Isn't it enough that I'm giving a company my custom these days? Baffling. Suffice to say I'm not placing an order with a company that want their palms greased, because if I opt-out then what sort of customer service can I expect.

I sounds like a noise from your brake disc. Mine came with not good form. The brakes took on the front wheel. I put it upside down and re-stricted the disc and now the front wheel keeps on rowling for decades.

I don't think there's Yamaha Nikon will disappear. This type of bike is futuristic we are in the futuristic atmosphere right here on Earth. This is the way to go for many / alternative / beginner / continuation. It is an ingenious bike. Most people buy bikes according to their environment / people that they are around, hardly anyone is an individual. If someone wants the Yamaha nikon bike they had better get it, this bike may help or add to a person to be more of the individual in who they were created to be...!

Irresponsible journalism to not point out why this bike is such good value for money. Chinese companies are not playing on a level field with their manufacturing competitors from other countries. They steal IP, copy deigns, don’t innovate and don’t have the same worker and environmental protections. No wonder then that Chinese bikes are so cheap; notwithstanding that they might be good machines. If you’re hanging out a motorcycle reviewer shingle, then you should tell the whole story.
