I loved S&H stamps. My mom would give them to me and I would stick them in the books and then she would take me to spend them. Such fun. Beautiful pickups.

Hi Doug, my parents collected the blue chip stamps. My sister and I had fun putting them in the books. Then they traded them in for all kinds of things, mostly for the kitchen😕💕

You always find the most unique & lovely things!!! I especially loved the black/rhinestone broach (third piece you showed)....and I've e-mailed you about the ring you purchased from Sue at Denim to Diamonds. You asked for comments about the other treasures you found. I make handmade journals. The photos you found are much-prized by journal makers, particularly those who enjoy doing vintage "look books" which are styled as a "memory book" of that era. I have used them in several journals.... along with ephemera from bygone days. The beautiful old handwriting in business ledgers and personal letters is something I especially enjoy using in my books as well as old lace & doilies.... and ornate KEYS as well. I also incorporate bits of jewelry in spine-tassels & love to feature a pretty broach on a lacy cover. When I do a "memory book" for myself, I will HAVE to include S&H Green Stamps. My mother always left a pile of stamps & the books on the breakfast table for me on Saturday mornings. It was among many "chores" I was expected to do. Thankfully, she also left me a saucer of water with a sponge in it! There was an S&H store not too far from where we lived and I still remember going with Mom to place an order or pick things up there. I still have some of her books & loose stamps.... and I really do need to make that Memory Book!!! Safe travels, Doug!!!

I am in the UK & we used to have green shield stamps which my mum used to collect. I was a child, but the booklets looked similar to those you have. She used to fill them in & order something from a catalogue.

Love it all! You always have the best jewelry. I think the little container you think is a pill box is actually a stamp box you put your stamps in and add water to the the little blue pad so that you can wet your stamps without licking them. Also the white and gold egg on the necklace may be a Faberge egg. I have four and they all have different markings on the bail depending on their age. I would definitely look into it. My mom and my in-laws did blue chip stamps. My Father-in-law bought 1 stock in blue chip about 50cents. Warren Buffet bought them out the 1 blue chip turned into 1 stock of Berkshire Hathaway. It was several hundred dollars. He gave the stock to us. Unfortunately, we had to cash it in and we got over $1000. for it. Love that off-white jewelry box I had on just like it.

My mother saved S&H Green Stamps, Top Value, and Gold Bond. I was a teenager in the 1960s. She had a catalog on them of what you could purchase. She would go to a redemption center and make purchases.

Hi Doug. I remember both the S&H green stamps and blue chip stamps. My parents redeemed the books for all kinds of cool stuff. I had forgotten all about these. I once had a whole wall of framed antique photographs. Each one “resembling” a family member. I still have them but no longer on a wall. It just made me sad to see these photographs discarded.

Gill is right. The "pill box" is for perfume or ammonia. There were a lot of places or people that didn't smell too well. Women really didn't really faint so much as in the romance novels and in the movies. It is just a gimmick.
