I purchased this vehicle 2 weeks ago. After driving my 2011 RX 350 I have found the learning curve steep and have been reading websites and watching many video tutorials. Your tutorial stands “above the crowd” with clear, concise, informative and demonstrative instruction. Kudos!

I have had my 2024 RX 350 for less than a month and I have been trying to read the Owner's Manuals. The illustrations are so small that I was frequently unable to figure out which buttons they were referring to. Your tutorials have taught me more than I had been able to get out of many long sessions slogging through the owner's manuals. I still think I have more to learn and will be watching them again. and maybe even a third time.

Happy to help! Congratulations on your new RX! Here's what we recommend for going through a car wash: Select the shortcut menu (it looks like a little ice cube tray, but the "Climate" tab in the middle of the main screen), I like to turn off Parking Support Brake (PKSB) & Parking Assist (PKSA), then make sure to turn off the Auto Windshield Wipers. If you need to keep the car in Neutral for your type of car wash, you will pull the gear shift to the left (follow the arrows, toward the driver) and hold it in place until Neutral lights up. At the end of the car wash, you will apply the brake, shift into drive and then you can turn your features back on before your drive. I hope this helps. Thanks for being here!

Hi! There is a feature on the vehicle that will help it to hold in place temporarily while you move your foot from the brake to the accelerator peddle, when it engages you can hear it. It is similar to the feature that will hold you on a hill for a few seconds when you have the vehicle in Drive and have come to a stop, then move your foot to apply the accelerator. You can try pressing the brake a little longer and a little more firmly until the shift is complete and see if that helps.

@NorthsideLexus9 ай бұрын
Hi! Sorry for the delay. The Park Assist system responds to stationary objects at about three feet or closer, as long as the sonar sensors can "see" the object. When the system is on, it all happens automatically. If you are parking in a garage or something like that, you can tap on the screen to mute the alert sound and still see the visual aid. Do you have a specific scenario that I could help with? Thanks for being here.

Hi! Thanks for checking in. I really need to do a video on this. It is a popular question. Here's what I recommend: 1. Turn off the automatic windshield wipers 2. Open the features shortcut screen (looks like an ice cube tray, small tab by the Climate tab on the main screen): Turn off, PKSA, PKSB (Park Assist and Parking Support Brake). Basically you want to turn off anything that beeps or applies the brake if the Parking Support Alert is beeping at you ;) 3. Shift into Neutral if your carwash requires that. (Move the gearshift to the left and hold for a couple of seconds.) Then at the end of the wash, apply the brake and shift into drive (left and back) I hope this helps! Thanks again!

I wanted a 500H with a tow package. I have waited for a long time but no luck. Finally I bought the car without the tow package. I was told it can be installed afterward. The sales person helped me get the part number(s) from the service department. Normally the tow kit contains 2 parts. One is the hitch and the other is the electric connection. Strangely only the hitch is available w.r.t. the VIN of my car. I was told that it means the car is not tow prepared, such as heavy duty radiator and cooling fan for engine is required. On the other hand, I also heard F Sport model has them ready. I am confused. A 367hp engine cannot tow is disappointed.

Hi! Thanks for checking in. I'm not really trained in towing details, but in general most hybrids aren't setup for towing because it reduces fuel efficiency and can create more wear and tear on the hybrid battery and the other components you mentioned. There is an accessory mount that is available for some models that may be compatible with the setup you received. Even though the hybrid systems can be configured for a more powerful output than some all gas versions, it doesn't mean the vehicle, especially a unibody construction car, is built for towing. I hope this helps.

@@NorthsideLexus Thanks for prompt reply. I learnt a lesson. I have an LX, but i already put 250,000 miles on it and thus want an alternate solution. I only need to tow handful of times for the car's lifetime. Without tow, i want to install the roof rack; but just found out it will disable the moonroof 😒. What other accessory you can suggest.

@@yungcm I would talk with the Parts Specialist at your dealership to make sure you can add compatible accessories. Lexus has very specific parts for each model. But talking with them will get you the correct information. 👍

I love your reviews and I love the Lexus driver interface. Lexus obviously puts a lot of thought into how drivers want to and need to interact with complex systems. However, you are being very cruel to all the buyers who want a new Lexus but cannot find one because of supply shortages. There is not a new Lexus RX350 to be had in my area of the country.

@NorthsideLexus11 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your continued support! That means so much. To go through a car wash, select the shortcut menu (it looks like a little ice cube tray, but the "Climate" tab in the middle of the main screen), I like to turn off Parking Support Brake & Parking Assist, then make sure to turn off the Auto Windshield Wipers. If you need to keep the car in Neutral for your type of car wash, then you will pull the gear shift to the left and hold it in place until Neutral lights up. At the end of the car wash, you will apply the brake, shift into drive and then you can turn your features back on before your drive. I hope this helps. Thanks for being here!

When turning off the engine. How do you keep the infotainment system on instead of the power turning off?
@NorthsideLexus11 ай бұрын
Hi! There is a well hidden setting called ACC Customize. Settings > Vehicle Customize > Utility : ACC Customize When it is Off, it means the car can operate certain accessories while off (until you open the driver's door). When it is set to On, it means the car must be on to operate those accessories. The radio and main screen will stay on until you open the driver's door, or the system times out to protect the car's battery. (I'm not sure what that time frame is.) I hope this helps! as an RX500h F sport level 3 owner... is there no longer an audible sound when locking and unlocking the car doors from the inside..... it's kind of annoying when passengers dont know that the car us unlocked yet... since they're so use to hearing the door unlocking... etc.. lol none the less amazing car!

Hi! So sorry for the delay! With the new digital latch, the door lock don't have a sound any longer. Just the small green light on the Lock button when they are locked. It takes a LOT of getting used to. I wish they would program it to make some kind of sound, for those of us used to hearing locking mechanism it can be a strange adjustment. Thanks very much for your question and for tuning in with me!

We bought a 2023 Lexus UH250h-great ride and quiet. However, there are so many settings that my buyers regret started within two weeks. We've now owned it for 2 months, and my regret grows. Bought 4 extra wheels with winter tires for the cost of a good motorcycle. Here in Europe, the key fob comes with a little attachment, apparently to prevent thieves from scanning the fob to steal the car. Problem is, you must replace the button battery in the little attachment every 3 months. Seems like a simple task but it is another thing to remember! This is our third Lexus. The previous RX's were owner friendly. This drives nicely, but the "baby sitting" is a total disappointment. I am sorry to have sold my two Hondas. These 2-hour videos are helpful, but it is a hell of a lot to remember. Not my idea of enjoying a new car! I will sell it at a significant loss in the Spring and return to simplicity with a Honda.

Hi. Loved the videos. Great job with explaining things so well. I have a 2024 Rx 250 hybrid and I have 2 questions: 1) if I leave the car running and leave the vehicle and don't turn it off and have my key with me when I leave the car, I understand the car (by reading the messageon the display), that the car will automatically turn off in an hour. Could someone steal the car during that time while I am not in the car. I assume not because they would need to have the key. Is the car locked then while it is running? I didn't test it and can easily do that. I assume, when I come back to the running car and I have the key, it will open. 2) In order to use my Android phone and have it active when I get in the car, do I need to make sure, on my phone, that the Lexus app is open? The reason I ask is that I have noticed that sometimes when I get in the car, the phone is automatically connected (bluetoothed) to the car and other times, I get the message that the phone isn't connected and I go into the phone settings and connect the phone again. I also use the "phone" icon on my entertainment center to make a call. When should I use the "phone" icon on the steering wheel? I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out the best way to automatically connect my android phone. I also have the wirless charger but it really doesn't work well, so I use a cable to connect the phone to the USB port. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi! Great questions. I'm happy to help! 1. If your car is running and not locked, it can be stolen. If they turn it off they would not be able to turn it back on without the key, but they could take the vehicle if it is open and running. And it will also turn off after an hour if it sits at idle with or without the key inside. I highly recommend locking the vehicle with the mechanical key if you are leaving it running and unattended. 2. The best way to make sure your phone connects automatically to the car is to always lock your Lexus. Then unlock from the driver's door handle. When you unlock the car, the system looks for your phone. If the car is not locked, it does not always connect to your phone for wireless android auto and you would need to reconnect. On the connection type screen, the use for phone is for a Bluetooth only connection and that will not be android auto. If you want Android Auto, make sure to keep the Use for Android Auto connection type selected. If you are charging through USB, make sure to use a charging only port. If you connect to the data port it will charge, but it can knock out the wireless connection and use the tethered android auto connection. It isn't a problem for the car, but it can be confusing as the driver to have so many different connections happening at once. I hope this helps! Thanks for being here!

@@NorthsideLexus Thanks for the quick reply. The vehicle is so quiet (probably because it is a hybrid) that I don't always know it's on. Regarding the phone. I will take a look at your suggestions above, once I get back in the vehicle. I will let you know if I have any additional questions.

Hi! So sorry for the delay! In the US the only compatible app for connected serviced is the Lexus app. It is a black square with a silver Lexus logo. Anything that has "enform" in the title is no longer compatible with the vehicles. I hope this helps. Thanks for checking in.

So glad you enjoyed the video. The colors and graphics seem to be getting some updates from Lexus. They happen through the cloud or through OTA software updates. It's also possible that the screen from filming and how it shows in the video is not exact since monitors can manage colors differently. The main thing is to look for the flow direction. That is how you can see where the energy is going to or coming from. The other place to check is in the NAV/Multimedia Owners Manual. See if there are more images there for you to explore. Thanks again for being here!

I love both parts of the video. I have just about conquered everything I care about. However, I cannot find any mention of the following. I have my air set to "auto". the "AC" light to the right is on. Everything seems to work fine. However, if i push the "AC" light, a small blue light illuminates above it. Nothing seems to change. After stopping the car and restarting, everything is back on, but the blue light above the "AC" is off. Anyone know what the blue light signifies?
@NorthsideLexusАй бұрын
Hi Sorry for the delay. This is one of the strange climate control visuals that is "interestingly" programmed. Here's what we have discovered: AC Compressor Icon: - When you see AC with no line or light above it, then the AC compressor is on automatically (There is a setting that allows the AC compressor to always turn back on if it was turned off, when the Auto button is pressed. But you should not need to always turn AC on, it should be on automatically, it just looks like it is off based on what we are used to seeing.) - When you click on AC and you see a small line highlighted, it is Manually On - If you click it again and that light goes off, but you can see the grayed out bar, then it is Manually Off Air Flow Mode icon is similar: - When you don't see arrows indicating air flow direction, then it is on automatic for air flow (you just can't see any arrows) - If you click on the Air Flow Mode icon, you can manually take over and click through to select your air flow mode Fan Speed icon: - A solid line indicates that the fan speed is in Auto (and you should see the word "Auto" with the highlighted bar above it, because the Auto mode has been turned on for all things having to do with the fan. (Speed, Air Flow Mode, etc. Then they can be deselected individually.) - A dashed line indicates manual mode for fan speed I hope this helps!
