2023/2024 Season Recap - ETSU Bluff City Nest of Frances & Franklin

BC24 hasn't returned to the nest since fledging on June 1st, but folks on the ground did manage to catch sight of him/her by the water and in the trees with mom & dad. Though the loss of BC25 was a painful one, it is wonderful to see BC24 off to a great start in life.

Watching this season's recap through a few tears for BC25. 🕊 It's always exciting to see a healthy fledgling. Fly high, stay strong, be safe in your journeys BC24. 💕💕

You introduced me to this nest as well, Whimsy😊 It was at a really difficult time when aggression by BC24 was really bad due to lack of food. I remember the last night of BC25’s short life when h/she was looking up at its mom and I could only wonder what BC25 was thinking of at that moment😔 I will never forget when the parent buried BC25 into the nest either. I’ve learned so much in my first year of observing eagles and especially from this nest. May BC24 remain safe, healthy and strong no matter where his journey takes him. RIP BC25❤️😥

Frances refused to do any hunting and ate the food intended for the eaglets. In my viewpoint, she is responsible for the death of BC25. Then she dug up the body and ate it. I have no respect for Frances. She refused to let Franklin around the eaglets. On other nests, both parents feed.

With mixed emotions, I watched this video. Sadness at the loss of BC25 but happy excitement as BC24 began its life journey . Thank you for this lovely and compassionately done recap W.O.W. ❤🦅😍
