2024 U.S. Citizenship (Practice Quiz) Official USCIS Civics Test: One Easy Answer (Random Order). Please know that Mike Johnson is the Speaker of the House of Representatives since October 25, 2023.
This educational video is the 2008 old version of the Civics Test with 100 questions and answers only, and is updated with the new President and Vice-President including their political party as part of the Civics Test.
Immigrant applicants who filed their application for naturalization on or after Dec. 1, 2020, and before March 1, 2021, who are likely to have been studying for the new 2020 test with 128 questions will be given the option to take either the 2020 civics test with 128 questions or the 2008 civics test with 100 questions. 
There will be a transition period where both tests are being offered. The new 2020 test with 128 questions will be phased out or gradually be eliminated on April 19, 2021, for initial or first test takers. Immigrant applicants filing on or after March 1, 2021, will take the 2008 old version of the civics test.
The USCIS will be using again the 2008 version of the naturalization civics test to eliminate those obstacles and make the process more accessible to all eligible people who want to apply for their American citizenship. Therefore, USCIS aims to make the process as accessible as possible with the request by President Joe Biden to review the entire process in detail.

Thank you I passed my interview today! Some of the questions I remember were, 1) how many years do we elect the president for? 2) why do some states have more representatives? 3) how many amendments to the constitution are there? 4) what ocean is to the east of the US? 5) what is the rule of law? I was then made to write the sentence “The president lives in the White House.” Then read a simple sentence from a sheet of paper. Just from my experience, the interview was virtual through a tablet with a real person. The person escorted me to a room with a tablet and then left to go to another room where I was able to see them on the tablet and talk with them. This was a lot easier and less nerve wracking than having someone directly in front of you. The staff was very friendly thank goodness. No definitions asked they just went through a long list of yes or no questions from the N400 application!

Thank you for this video. I passed my test today! Let me share my timeline and experience: Filed 02/23/2021 under 5yr rule. (Petitioned by parents) Biometrics on 07/02/2021 Notification for interview schedule on 01/12/2022 Interview 02/10/2022 Oath Ceremony schedule on 03/10/2022 I just watched and listened to this video over and over everyday. In the morning before going to work while prepping up, and during my lunch break at work. I can still hear the lady’s voice in my head 😂 The interview went very smooth. The officer was very nice and polite and he made me feel comfortable. I work for the State and he was encouraging me to work for the DHS too. My interview was at 1045. I was there at 1035. I was called at exactly 10:45 and I was out by 10:59. He first made me pledge. Then he went on the with the Civics questions. He stopped after 6 correct answers. He asked me to read the question on the tablet for the reading test. The question was “Who lives in the White House?” He then asked me to write down the answer “The President lives in the White House.” He went over my N400 application with the Yes/No questions. Then he asked me if I want to change my name. I said yes. Because when I got married here in the US i carried my mom’s maiden name along with my maiden and my husband’s last name. So I had 3 last names. As we were engaging in the conversation he said he’s changing it. Then congratulated me and said I can check the website (USCIS website) in 5minutes and the status should be updated. Thank you again for this video! I got my test yesterday 9/13/2022 and passed and got to do my oath on the same day. My appt was at 8.30am but check in was taking a long time and didn’t get checked in until 8.50am after being in line from 8.15 am… the process was fast until i had to wait around 2 hrs for the oath ceremony. They asked me the following questions 1- which war did United States participated on the 1900? 2- what was the reason for the cold war? 3-what is the capital of the US? 4- what is the capital of your state? 5- who is the governor of your state? 6- why is there different numbers of representatives in each state? They used an ipad for me to read and write on for the english test and to verify my personal information. I had my appointment in the Orlando, Florida office, they didn’t let anybody in that didn’t have an appt and for the oath it was a lot of people at the same time in the same room doing it and getting the certificates, no family members allowed. This video helped me a lot to practice! Thank you!

I took my naturalization test in Virginia beach. I was not asked about the definition of a word The USCIS officer was in the same room as me. My USCIS officer handled the whole interview. I wore a mask the whole interview but it was not required. My USCIS officer also wore a mask the whole interview. I did not spend any money on study material, Instead i watched youtube videos.

@@USCitizenshipHelpGuide My field office was in Manhatten, New York. And I did not get the same day oath ceremony. But by far my interview went great. My interview lasted around 20-30 minutes, and I was asked about, who’s the president now, who wrote the constitution, etc, then I did the reading and writing part which they asked me to read “who can vote” and asked my to write my answer which was Citizens can vote, which I of course passed as well. I was not asked about the definition of any words at all and I did not spend any dime on study materials. This video was the one that got me through my interview the first time. Thank you very much.

Welcome to our channel Adan Hassan. It's nice to know that you will no longer wait for a long time since it's already your turn to take the interview and tests for American citizenship. Adan, if you are well-prepared, the interview and tests are not difficult. Adan, we pray that you will be guided during your naturalization interview and tests on what to answer. Adan, don't be in a hurry to answer especially with regards to the N-400 questions and if you will not hear the question very clearly, always try to ask the USCIS officer to repeat any of the questions. Some applicants failed because they were not able to hear the question well, and just answered "yes" instead of "no"...so concentrate well once the interview will start. Adan, you can also check our community updates through this link: kzbin.infocommunity, some of the new passers had shared their interview experiences that may help you too. Adan, make sure to bring your I-797C, Notice of Action (interview notice letter), since you'll need this document to enter the USCIS building and this form will also let you know what important documents to take with you. Don't forget to bring all your important documents (original ones too) in case the USCIS immigration officer may require any of them. The original documents will be returned to you after the naturalization interview is done. You can place all your important documents in a portfolio or file document bag that you need to bring for your interview day, you will just pick it up and ready to go. In this way, you will not forget any important document that the immigration officer might ask from you. You may bring 2 passport size photos in case you will be asked during the day of your interview. You may wear a formal or semi-formal business outfit that you feel comfortable because your attire will also give you added confidence during your interview for U.S. citizenship. Adan, be respectful to the immigration officer and follow instructions well. Just show your confidence, composure and calmness during your interview. Wait for the immigration officer to finish each question first before giving your answer and don't be in a hurry to answer, always give yourself time to think. When I come back they let me enter the building but had to wait because of the covid questions. It was quick actually. Then they check my belongings and me for security purposes. Anyway, so I checked in and give them my I.d and appointment letter. They give me the number and waited for my interviewer to call me. For about 15mins they called my number. The officer who interviewed me was so nice. She keeps telling to relax and I’ll be good. It was a smooth interview. She did the writing and reading test first but in between she asked me the civics test. While I was writing she asked me about what’s the name of the war between north and south? Who is your US representative? And then she stop and she asked me to read the sentence in the tablet. After that she asked me with civics test about 4 questions: What are the two political party of the United States? We elect a us senators for how many years? We elect a us representative for how many years? How many justices are in the Supreme Court? And I answered all of them correctly (thanks to your videos). Then she asked me about my application such as my background, marital status, and mostly part 12, etc. She didn’t asked me any definitions. Then she said I passed the interview and said to wait for oath ceremony. She gave me the papers and give instructions on what to do. It took about 20-35mins.

I was able to make corrections when I was being interviewed with the officer, but before then I had to wait. 3. I wasn’t asked to define any words. 4. No my interview was face to face, I was in the same room about two arms length from the offer , I had to sanitize my hands and wear a mask. 5. My officer was AMAZING! it was like talking to a friend. 6. The officers at the door needed to see my notice paper before I could enter the building, asked me a few questions about COVID-19 “ do you have a fever ? , stuff like that” after that I enter and sanitize my hands, past another set of officers and then was sent to a desk where I had to provide My ID and my invitation letter. 7. Yes. We both had face mask and he lead me to his office. 8. No. My finger print work was done weeks before when I did my biometric 9. Yes, I was able to use the iPad. 10. Was there a representative who took a picture and also a fingerprint on your left index finger on the scanner followed by your right index finger? Sarah, some applicants informed us that when their names were called, they stood up and followed the USCIS officer walking down the USCIS hallway and into the office where they were interviewed inside. Other applicants informed us that they were just interviewed through "window 1" or "window 4" inside the USCIS building together with other applicants (with safe distance) in each window where there was a clear glass in between the officer and the applicant who both wore face coverings. Hello Susanna and welcome back to our channel. So your interview is tomorrow! Susanna, of course I wish you 100% success! Susanna, trust in yourself, you can do it! As an immigrant myself, I also feared for this interview and tests for American citizenship, but when I met the USCIS who interviewed me, she was so professional and it was just like talking to a friendly person. I think, the more you study for the Civics Test, the lesser your fears will have. Susanna, we pray that you will be guided during your naturalization interview and tests on what to answer. Don't be in a hurry to answer especially with regards to the N-400 questions and if you will not hear the question very clearly, always try to ask the USCIS officer to repeat any of the questions. Some applicants failed because they were not able to hear the question well, and just answered "yes" instead of "no"...so concentrate well once the interview will start. Susanna, make sure to bring your I-797C, Notice of Action (interview notice letter), since you'll need this document to enter the USCIS building and this form will also let you know what important documents to take with you. Don't forget to bring all your important documents (original ones too) in case the USCIS immigration officer may require any of them. The original documents will be returned to you after the naturalization interview is done. You can place all your important documents in a portfolio or file document bag that you need to bring for your interview on March 4, 2021, you will just pick it up and ready to go. In this way, you will not forget any important document that the immigration officer might ask from you. You may wear a formal or semi-formal business outfit that you feel comfortable because your attire will also give you additional confidence during your interview for U.S. citizenship. Susanna, be respectful to the immigration officer and follow instructions well. Just show your confidence, composure and calmness during your interview. Wait for the immigration officer to finish each question first before giving your answer and don't be in a hurry to answer, always give yourself time to think. Susanna, if you may feel a little nervous, don't worry, being nervous is just normal. Simply focus on each question that will come from the immigration officer. You can respectfully ask the USCIS officer to repeat any question that you may think will not be so clear for you, before giving any answer. Susanna, come early because you might encounter heavy traffic, and think positive. I hope that you were able to read the complete N-400 form packet that you submitted to the USCIS because the immigration officer will also ask you many questions coming from it. If you have submitted your N-400 application online, I hope that you have printed the exact application copies to verify and study all those submitted information. We truly hope that you'll pass the naturalization interview and tests for U.S. citizenship on March 4, 2021 at the USCIS Field Office where you will be assigned to go. Don't forget to bring your face mask (might as well bring 2, the other one as extra) plus a pen (with black or blue ink). We hope that you will be able to update us with the results. @@samsamhassan9383 we did the n400 form first. The officer just asked me about the personal informations and if there are some changes. 2nd, reading and writing. Those were the easiest part. 3rd, civic test. Be prepared. You need to relax. Breath and calm yourself in the waiting area. If you study hard then it's going be to easy. 4th, n400 part 12. Listen carefully. The officer asked me 3 vocabulary words. 1. What is a terrorist group? 2. What is habitual drunkard? 3. What is oath of Allegiance? Be prepared with it. You don't need to memorize the meaning from the dictionary. As long as you can explain it correctly in your own words and understanding then you will be good. Good luck!

And yes the questions will be the same. But if you are asking about the vocabulary in the n400 form, it depends on the officer. Some ask about definitions but others don't.

It can take anywhere from several months to a year or more, depending on the particular USCIS field office you are assigned to go to ... plus, the Coronavirus pandemic has added further delays. Alma, it is best to call the USCIS Contact Center toll free at 1-800-375-5283 regarding your application case if you are concerned. You can even call them two or more times to get the best answer to your case. It is up to you whether you want to alternate your calls between days. As far as I can remember, when you call the USCIS Contact Center, you will speak to the first level of live assistance also known as Level 1. Level 1 is made up of staff members, who are contract employees, and can provide this basic information for the caller. If you are requesting Level 2, you can now speak to a USCIS officer if Level 1 could not fully resolve your query, then your call can be transferred to Level 2 and answered by a USCIS officer. The wait for this could take up to 35 minutes, and the USCIS system will require your callback number so the officer can return the call later, especially if they are busy. @@USCitizenshipHelpGuide Hi thank you. My interview was in San Francisco Ca. They took my fingerprints in the 2nd floor when I check in. My interview was at the 3rd floor right after I sat down I was call by the officer. The interview took about 10 minutes very professional (no intimidating) actually I had mist put two answers of the 400 on the wrong box according with my answers and she asked me if she can correct those answers for me.. that was very nice of her..then she asked me if I was able to do the Oat the same day I agreed but have to wait for all of the interviews to finish… Had only one definition question about weapons.. No cell phones in the building please (just don’t open your phone is a federal building). Best luck to all.. Thank you for your help every body..Blessings

@@USCitizenshipHelpGuide Here is the walk through of day. - Went early and waited in parking until 15 mins buffer period to enter the office - Was asked to put stuff on belt for check and asked me to read covid questions and respond - Went to reception and then she took temperature by standing against a fixed thermometer, scanned my appointment letter. Didn't ask to remove mask or given any token - Waited for few mins and was called by full name and then officer took me in - He was very nice and polite, asked few things and introduced himself - He sat in same room behind a glass and took my oath by asking me to stand - He asked my name and then took writing, reading and civics test. Questions are in those 100, so just saying them will not be beneficial as they are randomly picked. He wrote all my answers down - He then went through N400, didn't ask me to answer rather validated my info by reading them..which was nice - i had some corrections which I told and he changed it - In the end he asked me to verify data and asked me to sign, gave a letter saying I passed test and my case is sent for final approval. - He asked me any questions, for which asked if I passed. He said not to worry and my case looks good and should take oath this month. - I checked online at home and it is updated that am scheduled for oath and will be notified. - To add, didn't ask any definitions or paper work for evidence, except for green card, passport and driver's license

There was a glass barrier between me & the officer. We both have to wear a mask the whole interview. 4. My officer was extremely nice and made me feel comfortable the entire time. 5. Yes, I was able to use the iPad for reading & writing test, and used my finger to write the answers. I also used it to sign documents after the interview. 6. I did use the USCIS app at first then found out about this video. 7. I was lucky enough to take my Oath Ceremony the same day. 🇺🇸

Were you asked to remove your mask for identity check by the security guard? With the Coronavirus right now, did the officer instruct you to follow into his or her office and interview you inside? Did the officer and you both used face masks the entire time of the interview? JOY, some applicants informed us that when they took their naturalization interviews, they took or used the elevator on the second floor of the USCIS building. Did you take the elevator (with the Coronavirus pandemic going on) or just the stairs only? So before you had met the USCIS officer, were you able to register? Was there a representative who took a picture and also a fingerprint on your left index finger on the scanner followed by your right index finger? JOY, some applicants informed us that when their names were called, they stood up and followed the USCIS officer walking down the USCIS hallway and into the office where they were interviewed inside. Other applicants informed us that they were just interviewed through "window 1" or "window 4" inside the USCIS building together with other applicants (with safe distance) in each window where there was a clear glass in between the officer and the applicant who both wore face coverings. How about your interview? Were you able to use the Ipad for the reading and writing portion of the tests? JOY, did you spend anything to buy study materials in order to pass your naturalization interview and exams or you only availed for the free materials such as free apps, or like viewing and practicing for your interview and tests via KZbin alone? Frass, don't be in a hurry to answer especially with regards to the N-400 questions and if you will not hear the question very clearly, always try to ask the USCIS officer to repeat any of the questions. Some applicants failed because they were not able to hear the question well, and just answered "yes" instead of "no"...so concentrate well once the interview will start. Frass, make sure to bring your I-797C, Notice of Action (interview notice letter), since you'll need this document to enter the USCIS building and this form will also let you know what important documents to take with you. Don't forget to bring all your important documents (original ones too) in case the USCIS immigration officer may require any of them. The original documents will be returned to you after the naturalization interview is done. You can place all your important documents in a portfolio or file document bag that you need to bring for your interview tomorrow, you will just pick it up and ready to go. In this way, you will not forget any important document that the immigration officer might ask from you. You may wear a formal or semi-formal business outfit that you feel comfortable because your attire will also give you additional confidence during your interview for U.S. citizenship. Frass, be respectful to the immigration officer and follow instructions well. Just show your confidence, composure and calmness during your interview. Wait for the immigration officer to finish each question first before giving your answer and don't be in a hurry to answer, always give yourself time to think. historically it is very enriching. the USA is very structured. What I like most is that the President, with all the powers he has, is below the constitution and the law can apply to him as it applies to the average American citizen. Also the separation of powers is very obvious, which makes their institutions very strong.

I didn’t do any fingerprints , they sent me a letter to let me know they will keep the same fingerprint for me due to Covid-19. I didn’t buy any materials to study, a friend of mine referred me to this video and I simply just listened to it over and over until I memorized everything.
