1 year from now at Jackson State University my plan is to lead the Snare Drum Section, my sophomore year is to lead the Trombone Section,my junior is to be a J5 Drum Major, and my senior is to be doing the same thing that the Head J5 Drum Major is doing right now in the video helping Dr.Little direct the band at Games, Halftime Shows, Battle of the Bands, Parades, and other Band Perfomances I will NOT give up on my dream to attend Jackson State University and march in the Sonic Boom of The South Marching Band and earn a Ph.D. in Public and Business Administration while working for the Jackson Police Department, Hinds County Sheriff's Department, Mississippi Capitol Police, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Jackson Fire Department, and the Transportation Security Administration and I might start my own School Transportation Business "OATES TRANSPORTATION LLC" while attending Jackson State University so I can help donate money to campus

It was always a bad idea to add them to the SWAC based on geography alone. It’s a strain on the program budget and the pockets of fans to travel that far to support those games. I’m guessing BCU didn’t have the budget to travel to Jackson, which isn’t surprising. It costs a lot to travel and these programs are already stretched thin financially.

It's a very long drive from Jackson to Tallahassee and to Daytona Beach Florida where BCU is located is even longer so they would have needed buses, hotel accommodations and meals expenses

To Far and Jackson State did not make the trip to Jacksonville last year. FAMU went to Southern University last year. They can make it if they want to. BCU went to the National Bands Competition in Houston in 2022 and the Battle of the Bands in Charlotte, North Caroline earlier this year. Sometimes the band programs save their money for an appointment they have a rivalry with and a better connection for its alumni and fans.
