2023 4Runner TRD PRO 1 Year review

I purchased a 2023 TRD Off Road Premium last fall in Midnight Black Metallic. It’s actually a blue in the sun. Installed the TRD Wheels mounted with BFG KO’2, Roof Rack, Skid plate . Black lettered overlays . Absolutely luv it! I didn’t add the TRD exhaust because I’ve heard it drones bad I’m on the highway a lot !

Ya know, I get more comments on this thing at the gas station than I did with my Lexus RC. It’s a bold vehicle, though I think it’s more so reminiscent of 90’s style off-roader style. The nice thing is you can always wrap all/part of it if you get tired of the color. I’m contemplating doing a TRD stripe in black (like the 40th anniversary), otherwise, wrapping the top half in black like Wescott designs did with theirs. That said, I have never lost my truck in a parking lot 😂

I have the exact same 4-Runner. Those wheels I bet you can sell for a lot because they are hard to find now. Toyota went back to the older pro wheels because of supply issues. I defiantly need to start taking mine out more.

Sick man. I have a 2023 TRD Pro and absolutely love it. I considered getting a new Land Cruiser, but I changed my mind since I believe these will age like fine wine.

Cool review dude. I wouldn’t buy a solar octane but I love the color. I’m trying to buy a 2024 SR5 premium in underground. I have wanted a 4 runner for a long time. I’d love the TRD Pro but I have 2 nine year olds. It would be ridiculous not to have the 3rd row. So, I’m just a little jealous you have a super charged Pro! Great to see you’re using the vehicle like it was intended. Here in Colorado owning a TRD Pro is more of an image for some owners and less about off-road.

@@jeffspicoli2643 thanks for the comment brother! I know the limiteds can be optioned with a 3rd row, makes me wonder if with some mods one could add the extra seat row into A SR5 or TRD trim 4x4?!

Awesome video - And I was one of those who upgraded my 2023 TRD Pro for a 2024 Terra… totally worth it. One question I have is regarding the 285 tires… Did you really fit them with stock suspension? Only update was the mudflaps? Where did you get the mudflaps?

@@DavidIJ Awesome! I just purchased a 24 Terra as well to accompany the Solar Octane in the garage! Should be seeing it sometime end of July or Early August.. but Yep, 285/70 absolutely fit stock fine. Been running them almost 20k miles now. They are the RockBlokz XL’s, just beware the rear passenger you need to be careful as the exhaust can melt it if it’s bent forward. I had to cut my tip off where it turns to the passenger side (melted my stock flap too).

You should consider getting rid of those steps and installing rock sliders. There are many reasons why doing that would be wise.

Did you notice the weight of the KO3? C load is like 58 lbs about 15 more than those stock nittos. Any reason you wen't 285 vs 255 80 r17?

Good catch! Just the part where it angles to passenger at the back. Kept melting my mudflaps. Basically just pointed it back so it’s not directly at the flap with the exhaust.

Gotcha! I always keep an eye out for it when I watch videos of people who have Pro’s. I just got me a 2024 TRD Pro in Underground and I love it except for one thing….. I resent that exhaust. The drone is horrendous. Thinking about either cutting it off or switching it for a standard exhaust.

@@dbunch904 You should check out the Black Widow exhausts… That’s what I’d probably be getting down the line once I’m going full send with headers and such. I seen a guy on YT with one on his 3rd Gen Tacoma and it sounded amazing!

I want to put KO3s on mine as well… but I’m really torn between 275 and 285. That tiny bit of rubbing you mention would probably drive me nuts but the 275s might look too small.

Love the color. Got a red ORP so I can’t even think about switching, but the solar octane is really enticing. Felt the same about the voodoo blue. My wife thinks I’m crazy, and my daughter said “no”! Cheers. 👍🤪🏳️‍🌈
