Easier said than done. Because of design, engineers would have to work around this design and see if the parts work in terms of aerodynamics, heat, crumble zones etc... But he can try.

Acura didn't fail to disappoint on this one. I've seen a 3d rendering of the Integra so good that I pissed myself of excitement and then got sad that it's not going to be a real thing. I forgot the artist's name but I swear to God he deserves to replace Acura's head designer!

The new Integra may not be a coupe, but let's keep in mind that the first Integra was a rebadged Civic liftback...just like the new one. I hope there's a coupe version coming as well. If they still have high hopes in the NSX, they'll probably be up for a new challenge.

I really like the redesign you did. I agree that the release of this car is basically a modified Civic hatchback. Your redesign in the C pillar area looks similar to the 90’s Nissan Z in the same area. I think your redesign would be a great seller.

i think this is getting more hate than normal because everyone is still upset it's not a coupe. That and everyone is upset because they keep comparing to integra TypeR styling. thats like saying the new civic is terrible and comparing it to a typeR. everyone will learn to love it just like anything else. this is basically an Si hatchback with a 6speed, but a bit nicer because its under Acura. I think ill it needs is slight changes to the front bumper to better mirror some design elements from the older integras and it'll be good. regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing the final production variants of this integra!

Well the point is that the 4 door models didn’t get hype like the 2 door coupes. If the coupes were such a hit that they became an icon then it makes no sense to revive an icon by giving customers the vehicle they didn’t want in the first place. In other words, if customers were so interested in the Integra coupe then why would they want a a vehicle that isn’t fully representative of what the Integra actually was. Acura has built a rolling piece of nostalgia more than anything. The nameplate itself isn’t enough to win over customers. Iconic nameplates must be paired with iconic vehicles, and when the package doesn’t reflect the original vehicle then customers will tread all over it and shame the manufacturer. It doesn’t even have any styling ques whatsoever carried over from the original Integra and that’s more than just a mistake. Styling is the number 1 most important thing (tying with proportions) when it comes to retro cars and Acura have just pushed that aside completely. I think Acura has played it safe and tried to make the Integra more practical by ditching the coupe, however like I said customers want the coupe, and what Acura has made really only takes away from everything the Integra ever was to car lovers, because let’s be honest the majority of coupe owners were enthusiastic about driving

@@puggetz9613 I agree a 2dr would be easier to ask for a premium over a sedan or hatchback.this would be ideal for a premium brand like acura to offer something honda doesn't.the only reason why the sedan was even sold was that the coupe did so well. This wouldn't be an issue if the civic coupe was still being offered I think. Hell I think they could bring back the 2019/2020 civic coupe and restyled it and it would be more acceptable than this 4dr Integra

problem is the original design probably is DOT compliant so the lower hood and long sleek windshield originally was designed with pedestrians in mind. Yes designed to run people over from what i remember. now days with all the sensors safety crap possible awd etc is gonna make every modern car look more bulbous hence why cars crossovers and suvs are starting to all look the same

The new integra should have been designed like this, or at least similar to this. It should have the option of 2dr or 4dr, with an additional option of the turbo i4 or a natural V6(or even turbo) for those who want more power. Sure, production would cost more with more options, but it would very likely cause many more sales, therefore being more than worth it

I don’t know why everyone keeps saying this has nothing to do with the original integra. The old integra was a Honda Civic with a slightly beefed up engine and “Acura” styling.. this is exactly what the integra was. Yes it’s not a coupe, but where were the sales when Acura killed the RSX? It’s an integra, it’s just not the fan made render that you got your hopes up for.

Fair point. There has been so much model bloat across the industry since they sold Integras, there is no way the new one was ever going to be anything like the old one. Imagine the fury of Civic fans if Honda had made the EK Civic, left the market for over 15 years, and then came out with today's Civic! I think the current and previous Civic are terrible designs, personally, but they sure sell like hotcakes, and they seem to maintain a large enthusiast base. I don't know if this ILX (IntegraLX) will be successful, but I'll bet there will be quite a few potential Civic buyers who may be convinced to go upmarket. So, rather than a new Integra, let's just think of this as the new version of the classic TL Type-S. Oh wait, that already exists (now called TLX Type-S). So this is the baby brother of the TL Type-S. Which means it's the new RSX. Which was the successor to the IntegWAITTAMINUTE... This is logically THE NEW INTEGRA!!!

Excellent redesign. I really love it. Ever since the Civic Type R came out, I was very interested in buying one, but it's just too boyracer crazy for me to pull off. When I heard the Integra was coming back, I thought this might be my perfect car. It seemed logical they would do a Type S model, which would probably look a lot more restrained than the Civic Type R, which would be perfect for me. But the design is very disappointing. And the new Civic has been tamed down quite a bit as well, so maybe I'll just get new Civic Type R instead, when it finally goes on sale. Assuming I could get one for msrp... which is very unlikely.

You hit the nail on the head regarding the name. It should have been the ILX fastback or something similar. I personally like the car as I do the redesigned Civic but was disappointed when Honda didn’t offer the Si in the hatch back; now it’s obvious as to why. I’ll by my Honda Civic Si hatchback at the Accura dealership. Works for me.

I'm sorry, but the Integra looks better as is. The redesign's proportions are a bit weird and it doesn't look nearly as good. Acura's not done with the Integra either...there's most likely a Type-S coming. The original Integra was a rebadged Civic LIFTBACK, just like this. Honestly even though I'm a bit disappointed they don't offer a coupe, I like this.

Beautiful Rendering! For the record, I'm a Nissan guy but love all imports! Always been a fan of the Integra and man, the Prelude!!! So back to this version of their Integra; it looks nice, and is in line with what Manufacturers are producing today! But it all lines up with being a cookie-cut! And most of the Brands are just putting out copies of each other! They are not listening to the fans! Those who loved these 90s-00s earlier cars are making descent money now, cater to us more.
