Hi! I’m Looking for an airstream to tow behind my Tacoma. Why did you pick this model over the Bambi? Do you think my Tacoma can tow a 16 or maybe even a 19 foot airstream? I love the video. Thank you!

Howdy! Glad you found us. We picked the basecamp mainly because of how offroad ready it is. It's also the most durable/ rugged airstream made, so that gave us some extra cushioning for mistakes made (it can run completely over a curb just fine, since the departure angle is raised super high). We also really wanted a trailer we could take into National parks for as long as possible and not rely on hook ups, as most NP's won't have any. With the basecamps extended solar and lithium upgrades, it just made sense. It for sure won't feel as lux as a bambi would, but definitely serves the purpose as a "base camp". As far as the Tacoma goes you should be fine towing anything 20' and under. We do just fine with ours and I believe the 20' Bambi is close in gross weight. You guys are fantastic, thanks so much for your videos! We just went to the RV show here in Boston last weekend, and got surprised by the Basecamp 20x...it wasn't the RV(s) we were there to see, but now it's our frontrunner! We're going to see it again next week & get more information...and, like you guys, we'd be towing it with our Tacoma. We're looking to go full-time, so we're really taking our time to pick a/the RV that will be a good fit for us. This one seems to be it, so we're devouring content right now. Your videos are so helpful, thank you. Thoughtful and detailed. Here's hoping that we get to meet you at some point in our travels 😀 Ironically, we were in Dallas 2 years ago for a work conference, staying in our truck camper at night! It was hot, but great. That trip, from Mass to VA, TN, TX, NM, CO, Nebraska, PA, etc. was so fantastic (6,000 miles total, and 13 states) and really fueled our desire to be on the road FT.

Yes! Thank you so much! We’re really enjoying the BC20X. I fell in love about a decade ago with the basecamps appearance, then even more so with the off roading/ off grid component of it. I think y’all would be so happy with that choice! The Tacoma is a perfect pairing, too! We’re headed to Zion next week, so more content soon!

Spent 8 days in a 20x and loved it! This unit had a 3000 watt inverter plus solar and I dont know what batteriy setup, weight 3500 on axle, not sure of tongue weight but I think over 540 lbs advertised base on my truck rear axel weight. If gvwr is 4300 lbs, not much weight available left for water plus cargo.
