2023 Annapolis Sailboat Show: What You Don't Know

We just spent the last 9 days at sea beating directly into the wind and waves to make it to the 2023 Annapolis Boat Show in time. What should have taken 4-5 days has taken almost twice the time as we battled directly into the wind and waves for almost the entire 1,000 NM passage. Now that we’re at the dock, the work begins to get this boat ready for the show.
The Annapolis Sailboat Show is the largest in-water boat show in the world. It takes place during the height of hurricane season on the east coast of the USA. This year there will be more than 50 multihulls on display along with every type of monohull imaginable. The caveat, the majority of these boats CANNOT be transported to the show and they’re not even made in the USA. As you can imagine, this is a logistical nightmare to get all these boats not only to the show but in place, in time. This year we got to play a small role in helping make this show possible, as we deliver a brand new Leopard 42 to the show. Weather will not be in our favor as we race against the clock to make it to Annapolis.

Just finding you, and since I am an Annapolis focused person, this episode had special meaning. I have been to many shows and love to watch the "puzzle," as you say, put together and broken down. You did a great job of backing into your slot (drone shots are fantastic!) That slot is called EGO ALLEY for a reason. I've seen times when spectators sitting on the bar side held up sheets with numbers 1 - 10 on the various boats shenanigans. Fair winds.

What an exciting adventure!! I might be wrong, but OC Tenders, AsTender, UP Boats, and ZeroJet electric Highfield are all supposed to be there. We splurged on an Aspen Carbon Cat with a side console that they debuted last week at the Powerboat show (first one they made with a console and seats). Since nearly every non-inflatable RIB is accounted for, that might make a pretty neat comparison video! Our Carbon Cat is nearby in shrink wrap at a boat yard just waiting for me to pick it up in 2 weeks. We will have a catamaran on the back of our catamaran! ;) - SV Saguaro

Going to Annapolis Sailboat show this Oct '24 while I work on my Deutch for boot Düsseldorf, which I am told is the biggest boat show in the world. I can't wait for each. A lot of the shows in Florida are mostly power. You should try Transderm patches /s No drousiness no sickeesickee.
