Great video, thank you very much! I have been playing the mini game for a day and a half now and would like your advice on two things: 1. I find it difficult to make the decision to either reset the board or to keep spawning gems when there is nothing to merge anymore. So lets say you are half way in and there are still locked gems on the board but from everything that you have spawned there is nothing to merge it with on the board anymore - do I reset or do I keep spawning gems with the hope of one appearing that I can use to merge with? 2. Three key gems - do I keep these on the board and convert at the end or should I just use them to clear the other locked fourth tier gems in an effort to clear the board quicker? Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

For 1, I like to limit myself to an amount of energy, spawn all the gems, and then merge everything together. If there's still lots of gems, maybe I'll spend a little more, but generally I just do what I can and move on. 2. For tier 4 gems, if there's no way to get another tier 4, then you can just use the one that you've got to break all the other tier 4s and get the progress and rewards for that. Of course, only do this with the locked gems, don't merge two free tier 4s with keys, otherwise you're doing yourself a disservice.

so I watched your video and it seems to help a lot - but when you are saying you should play 3 to 4 boards per day - is that spending 150 energy for each board? does that include the reset cost? And thanks for the great video

So atabout 500 energy per day, if you do 3 boards, the (total) reset cost will be 60, leaving you with 440 (~146/board). If you do 4 boards, your reset cost will be 120, leaving you with 380 (95/board). With energy from incidents, the energy/board could be a little higher if you want to try and get more keys. When do you get a key? Is it when you merge tier 4 gems with each key part together?

You only get a gem with a key after merging a top key piece and bottom key piece. If you convert a level 3 gem with a key, you get one key. If you convert a level 4 gem with a key, you get three keys.

How many boards do you recommend to solve every day? Is it a good idea to pay for the following boards when the first one is free?

About 3-4, with ~500 energy spent per day. So if you do 3 boards, that's 150 energy per board. If you do 4 boards, that's 100 energy per board. You have to reset them after a while, and if you aren't resetting them over and over, the costs stays relatively cheap.

12:00 I don't understand 'don't convert or merge any gems until the end'. If you can get a lvl4 gem w/ both key parts, why not convert it (into keys) when you get it, what is gained by leaving it on the board until you are at a point you want to reset the board?

What I meant is that you want to do all the converting after merging, but it came out wrong. For example, just because you have a level 4 piece with a key doesn't mean you should immediately merge it, it could be used to free other level 4 gems.

5 days left and I'm currently sitting in Gold tier without spending any diamonds or money whatsoever. The strategy of spawning 10 gems right off the bat and clearing as much of the board with only those 10 gems as possible seems to be working out. I only refresh the boards until they cost 120 energy. It's not worth that much. I've only done the free refresh, the 20, 40, and 80 cost boards. This has been enough to get one upgrade every single day in the grand prize progress bar. I have not successfully cleared any boards at all.

Yes. Don't do it, unless you're merging with a level 4 that's locked not for the key, but to get the extra progress from it.

I want a second tower. I have spend 15 euro for the extra rewards and if I am correct I need to get to 6250 to get a second one. But I was curious how much dia's this would take. And how should I play it to be most efficient? I need 5 board then but how much energy for each board is wise when I want to hit 6250? Something like 150 each?

I think that should be possible. Unfortunately I haven't done the math for diamond purchases in this event. I think you might be able to get away with 4 boards most of the time and then 5 if you really need to. Otherwise you're putting an extra 80 energy per day into board resets.

Just one question : isn't it better in term of keys to get 4 lvl 1 gems with keys on them ? if you merge from level 1 to 4 you only get 3 keys instead of 4 no ?

You can only get level 3 and level 4 gems with full keys on them, so unfortunately while that would be more efficient, it's not possible. None of the gems you spawn have any key pieces

Nope! All the gems you spawn will have no key parts whatsoever. Only the locked ones will.

It would be quite a few diamonds. If you're lucky though, you'll be able to get the Cartographer's House in the treasure maps, which functions sort of like the Key Masters Guardhouse from the Anniversary Event, and you'll get Trading Post/Buccaneer's Bay kits over time, which could be more cost-effective, but take longer.

@@UBERnerd14 - The editing, script, and narration are top notch. It's the sugar coating that you kinda do that makes me suspicious. The GE Level 5 video (Beta) video started me thinking this way. Nobody is out there saying, "We were getting too many Diamonds anyway..." It just seemed like you were pulling your punches. I'm a fan of MooingCat although his videos are often WAY too hard to follow. His breathless presentation style, his constant repeating of the verbal ticks, "So yeah" and another annoying tick that escapes me atm doesn't come close to the quality of your videos. Which makes me think you have money behind your videos. They're too good. How do you like that for a knock? But you asked and I gave you my honest opinion. It's good very content, tho. I got more out of your Event video (having played it now for a few days) than I got out of MooingCat's. I had a lot of trouble following him - as I always do.

I wish I got money for them (other than ad revenue, which isn't that much). I think a lot of it comes from that I'm actually a rather cynical person, (see the St. Patrick's videos I made) but I'm not a fan of negativity, if that makes any sense, and I want my videos to be more positive rather than just constant complaining. As for the diamonds, idk. I've recently been looking into gamedev myself, and thinking about how I would have to monetize games I made, and when I compare that to FoE and other games I play (like Apex Legends), it's just not as bad as many other games in the industry. They are definitely driving it that way though, which I don't like, but at the same time I can see why they are doing it. I'm planning a longer video on monetization very soon, and depending on how things go, that could definitely be very negative. I do appreciate you seeing all the editing stuff though, it's mainly that I've had an interest in KZbin/videos for a while, but haven't actually had a channel to experiment with.

@@UBERnerd14 - I was a fan of FoElite's FoE videos but he quit the game because it was turning into a pay to win type game. Plus he was tired of being ignored by Inno when he reported problems (the big one was that the same Guilds kept getting matched up every season in GBG.) Inno wouldn't listen to him and then when he proved that you could go into the F12 code of the game and just take a GBG sector without having to go through the interface, that was the last straw for him. He's also the one who told Inno about the Goods Machines doing infinite Cycles on the recurring quests and winding up with hundreds of thousands of current age goods. Inno put a regulator on that flaw but they didn't fix it. It's still possible to go through 1000 cycles (or whatever) every day and wind up stinking rich. Dude was very informative but EXTREMELY negative. But his videos, as you can see, are just him playing the game in front of you - like MooingCat. You're on a whole different level. You're no joker with a webcam and a game console. You've got serious chops.

This is kinda off topic, but the CF thing was intended. It used to be one of the most popular strategies in the game early on, practically the first meta. Maybe I'll have to do a historical look back on it for a video one of these days. It's only once it came to autobattling that they had a problem with it, at which point imo they should have just removed the fighting RQs

It's useless. The prize sucks unless you pay the $15 for the upgrade. Or get Silver league or above, but that's really tough and would cost money anyway.

It's actually basically on par at level 10 with normal event buildings. The golden upgrade just makes it much better. You can hit 3750 progress though and still make it, so don't give up hope so soon!

Anniversary game may be a little complicated, but playable. I played it today spending over a thousand energy. Problem I see is progress toward Grand prizes is far too slow. Progress toward daily prizes is also far too slow, unless you want to pay to play with a lot of $. Considering the payout for a maxed leveled 'Tower of Conjunction" it is not worth the $ or time. Best to move on from this event game.

It's not a game that you can spend all your currency on in one day. I recommend doing only 3-4 boards per day, with only about 500 energy per day spent (a little more with energy from incidents).

If played as advised in the video you should get close to 4300 progress on the grand prizes and only need 3750 for the golden upgrade. You can miss a couple of days and still get it. It's far from pay to win. I got the St Patrick's golden upgrade without spending money. I just had to reach to 19 towns. It was "Play to Win."

My best advice would be to wait for the epic anniversary kit to show up (either the end of the event or possibly as a switched daily special). You can get orrery kits there, and that way you'll have a bit of time to build up some keys!

Idk if anybody else asked this before but when you switch a daily special you get something different depending on the time of the day you are doing it? Like if I switch in the morning at 8 do I get anything different than my friend who switched after midnight?
