Great job Mitch, you did exactly what you said and stayed consistent. Good luck at worlds, you're gonna smash it
@HumanMechanism Жыл бұрын
Poor choice of words, but Mitch isn't hedging his sense of purpose and peace on the outcome. He's all about the journey in the present and has big goals. Again, he could have articulated it better to prevent misunderstandings, but Mitch was prepared to win and prepared to lose already. He even made a video about front loading himself a few days back about this, and is unique in how not nervous or stressed he is in this things. It's because he is very mindful and grateful to the moment, and being too hyper focused from the self into one particular moment, even an elite moment of victory, isn't his way of things. And we could all take away a lot from that perspective. This man was going to enjoy himself freely no matter what happened today... Imagine if Matoosh has that mindset? He won many events and nearly the whole comp and was stressed and disheartened for 99% of it. That's a lot of unhelpful mental stimulus. Still tho, he knows he flubbed his wording. It was an intense moment with many, many factors affecting him. People should be a bit more patient with each other.

@@yoroshikuonegaishimasu8649 Probably can't. There is no reason why he wouldn't. Maybe if he tries he either gets injured when going heavier or maybe he has to gain too much bodyweight which makes him less athletic, perhaps losing his current strong points.

People are judging Mitch based on how they would feel if they were in his place. However, Mitch is allowed to feel about this however he wants; he's earned that right. Also, you need to consider that his mindset and attitude about things is part of the reason he does so well. He doesn't seem to get nervous, but he's having fun competing. He doesn't seem to care about the prestige of the contest. You might not like that, but you're not him and you're not the one doing the work to podium on all of these contests. Lastly, I have to admire his long-term goals of using his strongman success as a platform for greater causes. Seeing his work in the seniors home is actually more admirable to me than him winning these contests. Given that helping others is his goal, you should cheer him on more than ever.

Way to go Mitch. I was saying since before last WSM that you would surprise a lot of people, based on your performances in the amateur shows. You've gone on to become one of the best modern strongmen in under a years time, no podium as seen you absent. Amazing and inspiring to see. Be kind, lift heavy!

Congrats Mitch! The scariest part of this performance is that there is still plenty of room to improve. Constantly learning and improving and you're winning big shows.

When I see someone win a show without winning a single event, I think of Martins Licis. He was such a perfect example of that approach. Having no weakness is almost unfair vs the field.

3:20 - Bobby totally got the numbers backwards that Mitch said about his frame training, which in Bobby’s mind made it seem like he was really close to being as fast as Mitch when in reality he was much slower. Mitch said he did 400kg for 8 meters in 4 seconds, and Bobby said he did 4-4.5 meters in a little bit over 8 seconds. Little mix up between the 4 and 8 which I thought was funny. Obviously to Bobby it made it seem like his speed is “roughly the same” as Mitch when in reality it’s not close at all 😂

Congrats Moose.. History has been made👍🏻. Looking at the events for World's. Which I hope is your next/only show upcoming. The heat events look good and in your favor. You should be doing a lot of zercher carrys and high front carrys with the yoke for stamina in the stone circle (conans wheel). Which will also carry over into the shield carry in the finals. Lots of heavy half reps in the conans wheel if you have that apparatus. I know your fingers are being made, lots of cleans from the ground with them so you can work on that smooth transition of one motion from the ground straight into overhead and letting the momentum carry you through the first couple hand over hand movements. Finally - lots of dumbbell pressing with leg drive from the bottom. Working with 150 - 185 to find your balance/press point alignment, with leg drive. Then carry that over to your heavier sets.👍🏻 If things go wrong for some other athletes and you stay consistent in the events/finals.. not finishing outside the top 4, you'll stand on top that podium.. and think about how historic that'll be💪🏻
