I have a 185 Atomic Blog and I totally thought this ski was a rehash of that. However, the bent 110 has significantly more aggressive rocker splay and seems to be a good bit lighter as well. That weight difference could be due to Horizon tech and the fact the blog has full wrap edges.

Ya man I run the Blogs 185 as well I love them. I thought this was the new version too. But these look like the ones replace my blogs. Time to put the old girls down. I really want all 3. 120, 110, 100. Happy skiing bud. 👍🏼

Hi, I’m a bit late to the party with this question but hopefully not too late! I’m 59 years old, 5’9”, 155 lbs. Ski the east primarily as that is where I live. We hit glades most of the time, but I also enjoy hard charging groomers as well. We ski out west at least a couple of weeks each winter and search for the powdery conditions we just don’t get much of back home. Since a few years I’ve been skiing Nordica Enforcers (178 at first, now at 172) and also had a pair of Blizzard Rustlers 10 (172) last year. Generally I really love the NEs for their versatility but could feel the float difference with the BRs out west last winter. All of this to say that I am seriously considering a pair of BC 110s which I expect will be primarily if not only used when we go out west to get more benefit in the pow. I’m hesitating on the other hand between the 172 and the 180. I am inclined toward the 172 because I expect it will be easier for me to control / maneuver esp in tight trees. Any thoughts / suggestions would be most welcomed! And if you think based on what I’ve written that the BC 110 is the wrong ski for someone my age / ski profile, please don’t be shy to say so. Thanks!

You're fine! We try to get to them all. For your stats, I think the Bent 110 makes a lot of sense. It's an accessible wide ski that is easy to use in deeper snow, and if you've got something to handle the East, the Bent 110 makes a great soft snow counterpart. That said, it's really at its most useful in truly fresh snow. If you catch a low snow time, it's tough. I'd also check out something like the Nordica Enforcer Unlimited 104 as it melds the lighter weight of the Bent 110 with carbon stringers and a known and versatile shape. A bit narrower, yes, but still a great floater for the width as well as having some on-trail charm. Salomon QST 106 is also worth a look. Have fun! SE

Hi guys, as always thanks for another great review. Picked up the Rustler 9’s at the beginning of the season as my first pair of skis after watching your review, and I’m in love. There were a couple days out here (Mammoth Lakes, CA and Lake Tahoe, CA) I wished I had something a bit wider than the 96mm under foot. I’ve had friends and my local ski shop employees suggest both the Bent 110’s and the QST Blanks. I’m 6’2/210 and after hearing Bob’s comments towards the end about this ski possibly not having enough stability for larger skiers - it has me wondering if I should really deciding between the Bent 120’s (due to carbon stringer) and the QST Blanks. Between the 120’s and Blanks which would you point someone towards who is looking to improve in the trees and on moguls? Thanks again.

Hey guys really great review I thought you guys explained the ski really well. I know I am a little behind so not sure if you will see this but I would really appreciate a response. So I am in college and am wanting a ski that can do it all. I live in California but I also ski in Utah as well. I am 5'8" 165 lbs and I am currently torn between the bent 100 and 110. When I ski at home it is mostly powder but not very deep. I am a do it all skier I hit the park, groomers, off trail, and trees. I know you guys said you love the 100 and from other reviews I have seen it looks like a great ski. I do like to bomb some groomers from time to time and ski a lot of switch in the park. I am not sure if the more equal rocker and flex pattern of the 110 would be better for my style or if you guys think the bent 100 is the way to go. Again thanks for the review keep up the great content!
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Caden! You said the word groomer enough in that question to make me think 100 is the way to go. The 100 will be far more responsive on groomers, in the park, and even in the trees when there's not much snow. The 110 is a fantastic powder ski and has some unbelievable capabilities in soft snow, but I think the 100 is a more well-rounded ski and I think you'll benefit more from that than the 110. In theory, it would be sweet to own both, but I would start with the 100.

This vs the Black crows Atris. What do you think?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
For me, I like the beefier Atris. It's just more confidence-inspiring than the Bent 110, mostly because of my size (6/2 225) and ski style (not as freeridey).
@JasonSheehy
@JasonSheehy 2 жыл бұрын
I just bought a set of Bent 110 188's to go alongside my Atris 189's. They're VERY different skis! I'll be putting Shift's on the Bent 110's and Pivots back on the Atris. Atris (2016 189cm) - burly fun-but-locked-in type of all mountain playful ski. Very rewarding of speed and charge down the fall line. Mounted at -6cm from mid, very supportive and powerful tails. Solid but not damp, stiff but not jarring, playful but not loose. Bent 110 (188cm) - lighter, nimbler, energetic trampoline pop and quite a bit softer in the tip and tail so it really loves to smear and butter. Light but not nervous. Very versatile and entertaining ski if you like to throw it around a bit. Worth emphasising that the mount point changed the character of these a LOT! I tested at factory mount (0), +1, -1, -2 & -3, but ended up mounting at -1 (which is -4cm of mid). IMO they lost their sense of humour at -3, would've been a stable all-rounder at --2, are precise and playful at -1, and 0/+1 made it ever so slightly more playful but at the expense of stability and chargeability. FWIW, i'm 6'3" and 80kg/175lb.

This s a specific question for Jelf: Son wants this ski (Bent 110) for a graduation gift (HS). He is also 5'10 and 155 lb. Background: Very advanced skier (competitive mogul skier / skilled at all mountain/big mt terrain / likes to do airs (inverted) / and likes to ski park for fun. Skies West Coast (Squaw) with typically heavy powder/steeps/chopped up crud after by noon. Want this ski for part of his current quiver (mogul faction 172 / park atomic punk 7 in 176 / all mountain Salomon QST 95 in 174). He mentioned wanting to get this in the 180 size, but after hearing your review, it sounds like going up to the 188 may be better. I'm confused though because you also told a 6ft/160lb skier in the comments to go with the 180 size? Anyhow appreciate your feedback on 180 vs 188 size for this ski.
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
I would stick with the 180 cm length I think. Considering the other skis he has and those lengths, 180 will be less fatiguing and should provide plenty of float still. I'm about the same size and there weren't many occasions where I would've preferred the 188. Super fun and playful in that length and it gave me plenty of float. I do think I'd have fun skiing the 188 out west, but I also think I would ultimately choose the 180.

In that width range, I like the Dynastar M-Free 108, Salomon QST Blank, and the Armada Declivity 108. The Declivity is the strongest of the trio and the most directional, but it's as smooth and powerful as they come. The M-Free is on the other end--still stable and strong, but considerably more playful. Blank is somewhere in the middle.

great review guys! keep up the good work! i am hesitating between these and the volkl revolt 104. Both seems to get in this special centered mounted freestyle powder category. I was wondering if you tested the revolt and could tell me which one is more poppy and gives more of a responses at the end of a turn? And how well the bent will do for butters? also i am 175 so would you recommend to take 188 or 180?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials Жыл бұрын
I'm a bit heavier at 225 pounds, so I gravitate to the Revolt in the 188--it's a great ski with good energy, and it supports me, and I can't quite say that about the Atomic. That said, for lighter skiers, the Atomic does have good pop to it and is more floaty for freestyle powder. Since it's so flexible, the Bent 110 is fantastic in any type of buttering situation, but lacks some of the raw horsepower of the Revolt. Hope that helps! SE

The ARV is beefier and sturdier, so even though it's got more park personality, it's a better on-trail ski that can make some decent turns. While the 110 does fine on softer and smoother snow, the 106 can handle crud and chop a bit better.

Hey Jeff & Bob. How would you compare the 110 to the Line Sir Francis Bacon? Building a quiver of a Prodigy 1.0 for park, Bent 100 for all mountain and trying to decide what ski to ride on powder in a playful and parkish style. Thanks and cheers from Spain!
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
That's actually a really good comparison. I think the Bent 110 has a little more stability than the SFB. The SFB is so crazy soft, gets a little unstable more easily than the 110. Both certainly work for a playful/park style, I just find the 110 a touch stronger. I suppose on the other end of the spectrum, the SFB is slightly easier for butters and stuff like that.

I wonder if I can keep 172cm Bent 110 with my 160lb 5’11… as a second set of skis just for tricks jumps and butters… my other set it Volkl Blaze 106 179cm for freeride… Cause i feel like its just much harder to learn tricks with skis that are my height especially with Blaze recommended line which is way back…

Pascal Bühler Hi guys, a bit late but I'm looking for a new ski. I got hooked on the 110 Bent but I'm not sure if it's the right ski for me. I ride about 50/50 resort and powder. When I'm at the resort it's more comfortable. I considered 3 options. The Bent 110 and a second ski for the resort bent 100 or Backland 107 I would be very interested in your opinion. Many Thanks
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Pascal! The Bent 110 is a great ski for deep snow, so if you're skiing powder a lot, I think it's worth getting something that wide. If, realistically, you're not skiing powder half your time, the Bent 100 might be a more appropriate ski. it's a more well-rounded ski for resort skiing, and still can handle soft snow. I think you can rule out the Backland 107 as it's more one-dimensional as a soft snow touring ski, certainly some limitations within a resort setting. You could always do something like the Bent 110 and a Bent 90 if you decide you want/need the width and rocker of the 110 compared to the 100. Bent 90 is a relatively inexpensive ski, so wouldn't add a tremendous amount to the overall cost.

How does it feel on groomers, ice, steeper stuff? Currently looking at grabbing a freestyle oriented one ski quiver for out west. Looking at the Moment Deathwish and On3p Jeffrey 110. Those are both heavier, and damper options that would likely charge harder. But I'm curious if you guys think the bent 110s could fit a one ski quiver out west or if they are too niche for that, especially compared to the other two options I listed. The flex and weight of this ski intrigues me, but I feel those things may make it squirrely at speed and on steeper, skied off terrain.

@@swatz7041 That's like a 4% increase in width, i wonder what you're expecting from it. I'd understand it more if you'd be looking for a different type and feeling, but the additional with of 4mm at this width feels negligible. Other factors like the amount of rocker and camber, the overall profile so to speak, would make a more significant difference. Maybe take an approach from this direction.

Hey Christian! Sorry for the delay getting back to you. I think it's more important to think about the increased tail rocker in the 110 compared to the 100. The long rocker and relatively soft flex gives it a very surfy, playful attitude. The 100 has more responsiveness and far less rocker, especially noticeable in the tail. If you're a surfy/smeary/buttery skier, the 110 is awesome, but some may prefer the responsiveness of the 100. Depends on typical conditions and skiing style. Hope that helps!

Great choice, especially for park. It has the densolite core versus the light wood core of the 90/100/110, so it's a bit heavier, but that can be a good thing in terms of stability. The Backland is considerably more responsive than the 110. The flat tail and the carbon stringers make it more energetic than the 110, which is smeary, floaty, and flexible. In the deep and soft, I may prefer the 110, but for almost everything else, I love the blend of agility and energy out of the backland.

Interesting review.. I think this was the first review I ever heard you guys talk about moving the bindings back from the factory setting.. If anything Jeff will talk about moving it forward to play in the park.. One thing I can relate to is going over the tips of the skis.. Infact when I broke my arm on the QST 106 that is what I did.. I came out of one of the bindings when I was on top of a mogul.. I think that was more of a freak accident but I can relate to what Bob is saying.. I am 210 and when my weight starts going forward there is a lot of moment there.. I would like to be a healthy 185 and then I think that I can do more to prevent my weight from going over the tips.. The nice thing about those QSTs is that they did float over everything.. Especially at that 188 length.. They had all the support that you could ask for.. There was a lot of tip and tail rocker.. To me the difference between the QST 106 and the Bent 110 would be the support.. Would you agree?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. Jeff had no issue with the more forward mount in the 110, but I needed to slam it all the way back, even in the 188. The QST in the 181 felt like a longer, far more supportive ski than the 188 Bent 110.

In my humble opinion, it's a little wide for park application. That said, I know more and more skiers using wide skis in the park. I have a Reckoner 112 that I take into the park every once in a while. It's fun for butters and presses and surface swaps on rails and stuff, it's just not very quick edge to edge so switch ups are tricky, I don't love spinning on them, etc. The Reckoner 112 and this Bent 110 are super similar overall. So, I suppose it kind of depends on how you like to ski park. If you prefer the buttery, smeary, swervy tricks, it would work well. Otherwise, I'd probably go narrower, like to the Bent 100. Hope that helps!

Hi! I'm 173cm tall coming from Soul 7 172cm as my powder ski. The problem I have with them is they feel way too short in deep snow but I do love their nimbleness in trees. So with the added tail rocker the 172 Bent 110 is not an option. Would you say the 180 Bent would be fine since they have a good bit of flex and should be quite turny? I've demoed the K2 mindbender 116 in 179cm and Rustler 11 at 180cm and those were a bit too beefy esp with heavy test bindings. Wouldn't manage them in tight trees as well as I'd want to. With a ski like the Soul 7 I wouldn't hesitate going to 180. I'm looking for a pow ski to handle very deep snow as well and I have a separate 103 wide touring ski in 173cm to handle the more intense touring sessions. (I'm 128pounds)

Hi Laura! In general, for powder skis, you should be able to go closer to 180. The Rustler 11 and Mindbender 116 are both really big, pretty heavy skis. Metal in the Rustler 10 adds quite a bit of weight, and the MB is just so big, plus K2 skis tend to be on the heavier side of the spectrum just because of how they apply epoxy and stuff like that. I pretty much have no doubt you'll be able to ski a 180 cm Bent 110. I would consider moving the mount point back just a little bit, however, as it's certainly more of a twin tip than the Soul 7. Hope that helps!

I really enjoyed the mindbender as an everyday ski but I don’t want to buy the same ski again. Now I can’t decide between the bent chetler 120, bent chetler 110, Völkl revolt 121. I want a wider ski because I already own a pair of K2 poachers that are a little bit short but still fun to use. What would you recommend?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
All great skis there. The Bent Chetler 120 and Revolt 121 are basically dedicated powder skis. You won't get as much versatility as your Mindbender 108 (crazy they snapped!). Even the Bent 110 has more powder-ski characteristics than the Mindbender, but the width is a little more versatile. All 3 of those skis are quite a bit softer flexing than your 108Ti, so that's certainly something to keep in mind as you're deciding. If you're deciding between those three, I think I personally would probably go 110 just for a touch more versatility. It's still a blast in deep snow.

Hey Jeff and Bob I am looking at a ski to use on east coast and west I have been riding 180cm as my normal ski and I am a intermediate skier. I was between the stranger from armada and this ski as a pow ski what would you reccomend 6ft 220 strong skier and have had a freestyle background my whole life. should I jump up to the 188 or stay at the 180cm

I think 188 cm is the way to go. You're closer to Bob's size and Bob definitely preferred the 188. 180 as your weight will feel short.

What I find fascinating is that pretty much everything you said in this review could be said about a Völkl revolt 104. Yet it is always grouped into the 100 line up and not compared to this ski. So if I may: what are the characteristic differences in who those two skis are for? Revolt 104 vs bent 110? Thanks
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 8 ай бұрын
I'm 6/2 225 and I have a very hard time on the 110, even in the 188 cm length because the tips and tails are so flexible and the ski is incredibly light. The Revolt, on the other hand, holds up just fine for my size and offers a different level of versatility than the 110, which is pretty stuck in powder or very soft snow. The 104 has more sturdiness and as a result, more of an all-mountain feel--this is a ski that I could ski a lot of days, even here in Vermont, while the 110 is more of a specialty product for me. While the 104 isn't as natural of a floater, the heft of the ski helps drive through crud, chop, and broken snow while keeping creativity and playfulness squarely in the skier's experience. I find them to be vastly different skis, and love the 104 in the 188.

What’s up ! Love the content guys. I own the 100’s in 188cm for my all mtn ski (I’m 6’3”, 175) and I’m thinking to add the 110’s for a freestyle oriented soft snow/pow days. How are they comparing to the ARV 116 JJ’s ? I’m mostly on east coast but I would like something I can bring on ski trips in the west or anywhere there’s more snow :)

The weight and sturdiness is the biggest difference. The Armada is a bit burlier of a ski while the Bent is on the light and flexible side. If you're looking for freestyle, I'd say the Bent has a bit more to offer, but not quite as much when it comes to stability.

hello, I'm 6'2" 155 lbs my resort (and first) ski is a faction CT 2.0 at 184cm I've become accustomed to centered-stance skiing and really love skiing all kinds of trees hard. I don't really spin or get in the air much, but enjoy the occasional side hit and switch carve. I aspire to nose butter some day. I'm building an 80 tour (all conditions)/20 resort (pow day only) setup for the PNW and was wavering between the bent 110 (leaning toward 180cm) and the vision 108 (183cm) with a tecton binding. do you have thoughts on the comparison for the typical heavy snow out here? haven't been in the backcountry yet but trying to take advantage of some spring discounts (so expensive!)
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! There's not a tremendous difference between the two, although I do think you'll get slightly better vibration damping and more stability for heavier snow out of the Bent 110. The Vision feels very light to me, and sometimes it can get deflected in heavier snow conditions like that. Realistically either could work, but I'm leaning towards the Bent for your application.

I don't think there are many cons of going with the 188--just like the Bent Chetler 120, you can ski this thing longer because of the dramatic rocker profile. The fact that it's pretty light makes it more accessible in longer lengths.

With such different things you're looking for, you're always gonna give some up for the other. While a two ski quiver probably would be better to cover your requirements, if you look for the one ski quiver, i'd look for the mid 90s. You're not giving up all of the carving performance but have the capabilities for fresh snow. Kore 93, Enforcer 94, Ripstick 96 or Maverick 95 Ti comes to my mind.
@SkiEssentials

I think the mid-90's is a good place to be for one ski. On your list, I think the K2 makes the most sense while the Kendo is a bit narrow and the Sender is a tad wide. Elan Ripstick 96 and Head Kore 99 are two other good choices for you.

Hey Nathan! It could work, yes, but remember what you're buying. It does have a lot of tail rocker and does have a more centered mount point that a lot of powder skis. If you go 110, you'll probably want to move the bindings back a little. There are some other skis with similar performance in a more directional shape. Dynaster M-Free 108 comes to mind, or even something like the Salomon QST 106 or Blank. I would at least consider those more directional shapes, although I'm also not going to tell you to rule out the 110, as that ski is a lot of fun.

Hi guys, I use the 2021 Salomon QST 99’s (167cm) as my daily driver. However we are getting an exceptional number of powder days out here in UT this year so I am thinking about getting powder skis. My QST’s are fantastic on groomers and seem to handle powder okay, but I do tend to sink down quite a bit on truly fresh lines. My question is, would it be worth it to add these Bent 110’s (at 172 cm length) to my quiver? Would I really notice that big of a difference in performance in powder?
@SkiEssentials

If you like the overall character of the QST, I'd stick to the Salomons and check out the QST Blank. It's a sturdier ski than the Bent 110, so unless you want something very flexible and playful in the fresh, the Blank offers more of an upside.

Hi guys, thank you for the amazing review I am really conviced now... I use to ski with the kung fujas 2013, I still have them and I would like to change for my new quiver with shifts. I tried the vision 108 with demo bindings centered -6/7cm and i found it a bit too directional and light. I feel the bent 110 is a bit more agressive on firm snow cause its a bit heavier and mayne more playfull as well cause its more centered than the vision. I am wrong? I am looking for something that sounds like a fujas but a bit lighter for small touring and a bit wider for deep snow without loosing all the quality on firm snow (I am pretty light(70kg) and tall(189cm) and planing on the 188 so I guess the ski wont be as limp as it can be for a big dude). Could this be my perfect quiver? Sorry for the long story (not) short

What is better as 50/50 ski, Bent 110 or Backland 107? Both are very lightweight Does Bent 110 have better floatation in pow?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
HI Todd! The Backland is a better choice for 50/50 touring to resort--I think that's what you're getting at. The 110 is definitely a better option for freeride/freestyle skiing in softer snow--very smeary and slashy, while the Backland 107 has that touring backbone (and carbon, making it stiffer) with a more responsive tail. If you're not focused on freestyle/trick type of skiing, I'd lean more to the Backland.

I'm on the market for a ski which performs well in the trees/glades - was considering the Bent 110's until Bob gave his opinion how the ski isn't necessarily best for him considering his build. I'd say I'm built similarly to Bob; 6'-2", 225 lbs - what ski would you suggest for me? A ski that performs well in the trees but geared towards taller, heavier, stronger skiier? I;ve been considering the QST 106s or the Rossignol Sender Tis. Any input would help!
@src248
@src248 2 жыл бұрын
Those are three very different skis! I don't think the Sender Ti makes much sense as a tree ski, QST could work (the 2023 version is supposed to be very good in the trees). I'm 6'2" 230 and looking for the same thing, in that width the top of my list is the Praxis MVP 108 (they're expensive but Praxis have a pre-order sale every year that makes them much more affordable). Moment Wildcat 108 and RMU Apostle 106 are good options, Line Blade Optic 104 seems promising.

@src248 2 жыл бұрын
@@michaelkozlowski1323 To quote myself from an earlier video, "Low swing weight, forgiveness in the tip and tails, easy edge release." To relate that to ski shape/dimensions, more forward mount points, deep rocker lines, and taper will all help with that. It's all relative to the skier of course, I still like a stronger, heavier ski than would be necessary for someone smaller

Hey Michael! As Steven pointed out, the 2023 QST 106 could be a great ski for you. Similar characteristics in its maneuverability, but a stiffer flex pattern that's more supportive of bigger skiers. How would you describe the evolution of these compared to the 2015 chetlers? (I have the 192 version of those). I'm torn between the 110s and the 120s, mostly for a touring setup. I know they are significantly lighter, so that's the main driver for me to think about upgrading...
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
the new 120's are quite similar to those of 2015--the carbon has changed a bit, but the shaping and profile of the ski is largely the same. the 110 has no carbon to it, and roughly the same shape and profile as the 120, so it's a more flexible, playful ski than 120. With the 110, you gain butteryness, but it comes at the cost of both flotation and pop.

The Armada is quite a bit sturdier with the addition of ash to the wood core, but also keeps it smeary with the Smear Tech 3D in the bases. Totally depends on how often you're in fresh snow, and how deep it is. The more of both, the more I'd lean to the 120. The other big difference is the carbon in the 120 that's not in the 110.
