Went from FWD A4 Avant B8.5 to Mk2 Q3 45TFSI quattro.... A4 more solid, but Q3 better for my lower back muscles.... overall, very pleased and just the right amount of tech. Totally right-sized and love the virtual cockpit with nav.

I seem to like my manual eco diesel suv's ( Honda HRV, Vauxhall Mokka...) and was thinking of upgrading to a Q3. However, I have been reading on the internet that one of the ways Audi dealt with the recent diesel emission scandal was to direct some of these emissions back into the engine. Apparently later on this can cause four figure engine repair bills?! Is there a way I could check if a potential vehicle has this set up before purchase?

Had a 2020 Q3 40 Quattro S-Line with 19" wheels, slightly bigger than the previous generation so decent room in the back seats and boot, main issue was the ride, very firm and unrefined particularly for rear seat passengers, also the cabin quality is questionable with some rattling even after only 3 years and less than 15k miles. Part-exchanged for a Q4 50 Quattro Black Edition, far smoother and refined ride even with 21" wheels, although much more expensive than a Q3 and worse breaks, too.

Also have to say it’s quite funny you saying the Technology pack Pro doesn’t have tech worth recommending… but ignore the driver assistance pack. if you do a lot of mileage, the adaptive cruise alongside side assist are phenomenally useful. Equally 360 cameras make driving it around town much more enjoyable if you have the tech pack pro - and matrix headlights are something else in the winter

Test drove both the Q3 and the new X1. The new X1 is a far better package. Punchier entry level engine and standard equipment. Very underwhelmed by the Q3. Sportback looks nice in the S-Line trim though.

Did you actually drive the 35 TFSI you recommend? Sluggish automatic gearbox, and a bit of a strained powertrain don’t make for a terribly pleasant experience… the manual gets around the gearbox but not the lack of power. I’d really suggest the 40 TFSI or 35 TDI are MUCH more suited to this car - having driven the entire range other than the 45 TFSI (non hybrid) and 40TDI

I just got used Q3 2022 that has 4k miles. Recently it has been raining more, a few times after setting the parking brake the wheels were locked and a loud pop before they broke free. Is this normal? Or should I take it in? There's rust on the part behind there wheels as well. Are either of these covered under warranty?

During Covid I lost my mind and traded in my A5 for a Q3 sport back. Lovely to look at, but awful to drive. 35 TDI and the interior quality horrible versus the 2018 A5 and the A3 I had before it. The spec was also shocking. Honestly, I still have no idea why I bought it. I got rid of it after 10 months and got a BMW 330e M Sport.

That just confirms my suspicions tbh. I don't like SUVs but the Q3 was one I liked to look of. The A5 (5 door only) imo is one of the most complete cars on the market alongside the BMW 4 series GT. Hope you're enjoying the BMW

"Interior quality". Why you all crying about the interior quality? Are you planning to drive the car or live in there like in your bedroom? I had an fully equiped 320d with leather and that car could not even match this Q3 F3 when it comes to drive comfort, technology and "preium feeling" in the interior. So your comment only shows how little you really know about cars. Btw. the so nicely looking leather in the 320 starts to wear out very quick. It began already 5 years after production when i bought the car as a second owner in 2017. Color faded off when cleaning, abraded surfaces etc.

Ive gotten a troc as a courtesy car which I think is the same as this if a bit smaller. Im really disappointed that since 2010 interiors in these have not changed in quality 😕 the steering is numb and the engine sounds like a sowing machine

- There was no virutal cockpit and touch displays in 2010 cars. - The T-Roc came out in 2017 and is quality wise belower the Q3 F3

Not only has the quality of materials gone downhill, the engines are unreliable. This car looks great in videos but looks cheap and underwhelming in person. Not worth of the luxury badge. Any experienced car owner buying an Audi these days is in for disappointment and troubles.

@@KeliK1 A Q3 is a MQB car which is cheap cars from the Vag group. A4 upwards are MLB cars a proper premium platform with V6/V8 engines.

@@johnguidetti5839 The older generation cars were good. The newer ones are not. I've owned Audi's for 16 years, a B4 80, a B5 A4, a C6 A6 and a C7 A7. The C6 generation was when they made the last good cars. My C7 A7 is trash compared to my C6 A6. I heard the C8 is even worse than the C7. Better buy a Korean or Japanese copycat than pay premium for trash.

Can highly recommend these as we have owned the prior model for the last 5 years and unlike the Tata e vogue won’t breakdown,Audi will retain its value better which is most important if you’re looking value for money.

A dip in quality. Audi is no longer a premium badge. Build quality has taken a serious hit. My expensive A7 crashes over cats eyes in the road with the sound reverberating through the car especially the main car dash mounts. On smooth tarmac is excellent whoever that’s few and far between. I have had three Audi’s, two A5 and now one A7. I won’t be buying another Audi. As mentioned Audi lacks polish across the whole of its range and have been left behind by Mercedes and BMW by a long way.

@@johnguidetti5839 True but traditional car designs are being phased out to make way for these ridiculous fashion statements called SUVs that are not sporty or utilitarian and therefore are a misnomer. The Fiesta is no more, the Passat is no more, instead we are getting these boxes on stilts that drive like boats, wallowing through bends. SUVs serve no purpose apart from ego massaging for their owners. They are also known to be more dangerous to pedestrians in a collision.

Drive-tested both the XC 40 and the Q3, opted for the latter both for the ride qualities and the dash board. Still enjoying it. Boot is very limited though.

Same here - I test drove an XC40 B4 Ultimate and an Audi Q3 40 TFSI Quattro, the Volvo is lovely, don't get me wrong, but the gearbox felt sluggish at times and body roll was noticeable on roundabouts, the Volvo did feel slightly more premium inside, but out of the two cars the Volvo was the only one that when I finished a test drive I had a negative bit of feedback to give, in the end I ordered the Q3 with the tech pack pro + driver assistance pack, due in February/March. I test drove both cars 3 times, did around 2.5 hours in total on each for reference so certainly gave the Volvo a fair chance.
