2023 Backbone Hillclimb (Mt Alma) Ford Fiesta ST S290 Day 1

A run up the hill from this years 2023 backbone hillclimb (formally mount alma) in our modified MK7 Ford Fiesta ST running our Fiesta Division Performance new S290 turbo kit with equal length turbo manifold and Titanium race exhaust.
after a day of racing we ended up.
3rd outright for the day
1st in class: improved vehicles

Nice driving! You need that Rally style anti-lag the engages when off the throttle and on the brakes so when back on the throttle she is spooled and ready.

Unless your chasing huge power and a full circuit car the S290 is a better suited turbo for this platform, it keeps the power band in a very usable window and still gives good enough midrange performance but a good balance of top end too.

Question about the Fiesta ST, it's documented that the cylinder head flows poorly. However the mountune head outflows the B16A. Have you guys ever considered the head with stage 4 Cams. If paired with the lightweight crank and strengthened block with forged internals. It could easily make peak power at 8.5k with a 9k red limit. It would be a monstrous machine. Only thing it would need is shorter gearing to compensate for the higher redline and power band

How is it compared to the g25? Do you think the powerband is better suited for the track?

It is a much more drivable turbo for this setup, it moves the power band down 1000rpm which suits the gearing a lot better and especially for this track and many others like it

Thanks for your kind words, we are able to make a kit up to match that of ours however it is not a cheap exercise to do

This is just using a generic android head unit and toque app to show the data with a Bluetooth obd reader

Why does fiesta ST stay so true in its line like a fwd car. My stock st doesn't. Backend is always tripping out like a 911 rwd

hey does the s290 fits on the stock manifold? and what kind of power do you get at 93?

Yes it does fit, we have not run it on it however, nor have we run it on 93 unfortunately

@@Team_NDR ah im currently with a x58 turbo from puma but i might switch to s290, idk if the engine is any different usa vs europe i don't think so but got to be sure because whoosh is the only one selling the s290 atm
