Hi I changed from a Swift 530 Conqueror to a Phoenix+ 640 Island bed and center shower and toilet, absolutely love it❤️. Do not miss the front locker at all and find the towing dynamics far improved having all the weight over the axle

Just a personal opinion but one worth sharing. We are looking at a new Swift and I had my heart set on an L shaped lounge, until I actually tried it that is. There are only 2 of us but we like to relax with our feet and legs up. With the L shape that is rather awkward. You have the choice a) sitting shoulder to shoulder in the corner, b) or one of you sits where you cant see the TV or c) one of you sits upright all the time. The L shape definitely looks great and if you're not loungers like us, it's perfect, just not for us. Beautiful van though.

Hi its a very nice caravan , but the 8ft wide I personally found bit harder driving on the motorway. The caravan is the same width as the white lines, so over taking I found kept you on your toes. Wider than Hgv trailer. Just check that Bailey have fixed the front blinds issues, referring to KZbin video by the Caravan Batters. But good luck what ever you decide 👍

We have the ordinary Brindisi and we love ours. I would upgrade to the 8 foot but can’t because of being able to afford it. I found it odd that Bailey put the electric point on the awning side, I put it down to the fact the battery is under the bed. I have just bought a 90degree plug so that the cable goes straight down to the floor and not stick out, not used it yet as we have not been away. Our bathroom has a window on the back so we don’t have the ‘truck’ look. You could look round for a nice vinyl sticker to put on the back. I must admit the transverse bed and shower sold us our van.

The only thing I would like to see would be Alde heating rather than the truma system. We switched from a Bailey with truma blown air to a Coachman with Alde and it made a huge difference, so much better.

Hi yes comment from David regarding width ,,Bailey is 2.45m wide .Articulated truck and trailer length is 16.5 metres and road trains are allowed up to 18.75 metres. The maximum width is 2.55 metres or 2.60 metres for refrigerated lorries If a vehicle has an overall height of 3 metres or above, a sign must be displayed in the cab showing its full height. Used to issue weight plates every day as part of my job with DVSA. VOSA Used to have 8ft wide caravan just fitted between white lines, not for everyone but I found it was okay. Just made up and more relaxed after changing back to normal width. Especially driving in Cornwall

We had a brand new pegasus verona in 2017 beautiful van but rear lights were always full of condensation even had it looked at but a few people have same concerns. We traded it in for an Elddis in early 2020 and there was a lot of damp found in it .A year later we bought another Elddis far superior but thats our opinion hope this helps

We're not that bad. Had the Elddis exactly 2 years. We never thought the grandkids would be interested in coming. There's no way we could take them in a 2 berth caravan especially the little ones. Youngest is only 5 😍😍

I’ve the 8ft , not this brand, there’s nothing to worry about. Quite surprised you selling up from the Elldis. Have you had issues with it. Not slating, your interest in Bailey , but I’d find the service points a pain and having no front locker means less storage. NEC in a few weeks too so you’ll see a wider choice. Am dreading going as I’ll end up coming back with the Adria.

Absolutely no issues at all. We're thinking more about the grandkids especially as we got a much bigger car from when we bought the Elddis

Don’t be put off by the fact it’s 8ft wide. I have a 8ft wide twin axle Buccaneer and dont find any problem. Been all over our country even some narrow roads in Cornwall and over 2,000 miles to the south west of France in June last year via the channel tunnel. Just take it steady.

There is the thought that we'll need to plan routes in some areas of the country but other than that we don't think 8ft wide will be a major issue. Thank for your experience, really appreciated. 👍

The width would be my concern but still a nice van. I noticed you sometimes have road narrow restrictions in built up areas where a wider van may not get through correct me if I am wrong

Absolutely agree that some trips are going to take a bit more forward planning for the route and we already know that some cl's we've visited are going to be off limits due to road width.

How about your tow car, will you need to upgrade that as well? It’s a lovely van, we have a Swift Challenger 880 X and love the extra inches 8ft gives us. It’s amazing how much extra space it gives you. 😊

Hi Teresa, no we don't need to upgrade the car. Checked on towcar.info and it cones out well below the 85% limit at 73%. 😍. Had a look at the 850 challenger X which we love but a bit above our price limit . Gorgeous caravan.

We have our service due on the Elddis by 18th Feb so if we have it serviced, we'll be keeping her another year. See what deals can be done or not.
