I was a little late getting into the starting line and ended up towards the back of the wave 1 start in this year's 2023 edition of the Barry Roubaix. I'm always surprised to see how big this gravel race is, as there had to be close to 300 racers in just this first wave of the 36 mile distance. After starting my Garmin and thinking I had started my camera, we were off at 10am. About 1 mile into the race, I realized my camera powered up but was not recording. I did manage to get it started on Cook Rd., just out side of town, and prior to the race really getting started on the 3 Sisters. I had hoped to capture the entire race by using a booster battery, but unfortunately that did not work out and I only captured the first two thirds of the race until cresting the Wall. Always fun to start the season off racing down in Hastings, and get a chance to catch up with everyone after a long Winter.
