We took a new 2023 Bass Cat Jaguar with a Mercury 250 Pro Xs out today for break in and shot some video! 35 degrees and a 15-25 MPH NE wind made for a nice adventure on the Sandusky Bay. BRRR
We have 5 graphs on this boat, and she is tournament ready. Prop is a 23 Fury 4 as we wanted this customer to have a boat that planes out well under a full load, has good mid range torque to push through big swells, and would still have a good top end and handling. The Jaguar is 22 feet and nearly a multi species hull so she is a LARGE bass rig. This combo gave us everything we wanted as shown below:
Top Speed empty wells - 70.1 at 6000RPM
Top Speed with full wells - 68.9 at 5950RPM
Lowest speed to stay on plane - 13.8MPH with an average of 14.5-15MPH
Time to plane - Not recorded but FAST - sub 4 seconds for sure
The boat did not blow out on tight turns, and as you saw, even with a 20 MPH cross wind we stayed DRY! This boat rides great, is dry, and handles as good or better than any bass boat built. It will go slow and be a tank when needed, go 70 MPH and get great lift when needed, and come in and out of turns like a champ! If you want to #feeltherush for yourself, give us a call or shoot us a message and we will get you out on the water!
