That's what manufacturers always use: true speed...but it's based on the speedo AFAIK, so they estimate how much it will be with the speedo error, usually about 255-260 km/h or something with modern speedos. Just look at this video as an example: it went up to 256 km/h according to the speedo, with possibly uphill and headwind, it probably would've gone max 260 km/h on the speedo even with downhill and tailwind.

Because the petrol version is quite unappealing for a company vehicle in Europe, I guess. For short distances you can get the i7 and get the tax benefits that come with it, and for everything else you have the hybrids (again, for tax reasons) and the Diesels.

I have the 740i g11 mit M package and i Love my car. The B58 is awesome. The Quality of the interrior is incredible. The MHD stage1 is also really Good.

After driving a Merc S400d and a BMW 740d more or less back to back i have to say i would pick the Mercedes. I guess it just comes down to a matter of preference but when i think about these boat-cars i want ultimate luxury and comfort with elegant design and for me personally i feel like the S-Class does a bit of a better job in all these areas. The BMW never quite relaxed me while driving in the way the Mercedes did. Its just so hard to put into words :) I guess the BMW is for someone who even in the luxury department likes a bit of a slight sporty look/feel.

I am not 100% with you. I have driven both. It’s the first time ever that both are very similar in the driving experience. The previous generations were more differentiated because the 7 series was sportier and the S class more comfortable. Now the S class started to be sportier and the 7 series more comfortable. S class wins definitely with the exterior. The interior and it’s build quality goes for the 7 series. That’s my experience.

The true emissions must be very close to those of fossil diesel. Saying this, I also think and hope that diesel has a pleace in the future.
