What a great review/video! I have the 23' M1000R and was so surprised how "docile" the bike is in 2nd below 10k rpm. Probably need a BT flash I guess 🤪 Edit: I have a very insensitive "butt-dyno" so I do not feel that much difference between "Road" and "Race" regarding power delivery i the first two gears. According to the user manual road and dynamic mode has the restrictions in the first two gears. Race modes are configurable so maybe you get full power in all gears. Guess BT have checked the relevant tables (ETV) in the ECU.

Where in San Diego are you located ? Saw you riding up through Encinitas at the beginning of the video. Do you have a shop down here that I can take my 23 s1000rr ? I plan on getting the Akro headers and leaving stock muffler in, should I do that first before flashing it ? Love the videos and work man! Keep it up!

@@noahnitikman2436 it’s fast , the only way I can put it is if you ever driven a turbo car that had a big turbo there was a big lag, and the power would punch in after building up momentum after the tune he got rid of that is way noticeable and worth the money. I don’t get paid to say this I’m just telling you to hold on After the tune.

So, US models are 205hp. Euro is 212, iirc. Does the tune give the bike the same power as the euro or is it an improvement to the US spec? I’m not asking that the right way but hoping you understand what I’m getting at.

It depends , it’s 205 to the crank , due to emissions regulations it’s limited to 205 but with a ecu flash you get rid of the limiter , getting more hp

Why is the tail made with plastic? I have a 23 s1000rr aswell but it’s always the tail that Icks me a little. You’d think spending extra for the m1000rr would get you no plastic but idk.Hopefully somebody makes a full carbon tail soon.

Went to the dealer to buy this bike. Only to find out it does not come with the electronic suspension but the S model sitting next to it did have it. And it was $24k instead of $40k. Well, I may be a high school dropout, but with an IQ of 130, it was a no brainer to get the S model. Not enough justification to spend an additional $15k just for carbon fiber bodywork. Carbon fiber is for structural integrity, which is not necessary where it is not needed. Plastic fairings are just as light weight and can perform the same function for such a setup. M model should be no more than $30k.

I ran a 4.68 60-130 on my stock 23 s1000rr with a little room to grow. Excited to tune it and see what it runs after!

With a first gear start that’s possible. If US spec, you also have a top end restriction on the 23 s1k, you’ll be much faster after flashing.

The engine on the M is not stronger. You should check valve clearence after 600 mile run in period, especially the exhaust valves are the weak spot. You can get 230 hp@crank with some changes in camtiming and a thinner head gasket, measure squish.

Why BMW doesn't do well on any championship worldwide? WSBK, BSB, JSB, motoAmerica). Everybody complain on chassis and peripherals. Only engine is powerful. But it is unusable if not supported by the rest of the bike. Your tuning is very good and on the correct rev range. This shows you know very well what you are doing👍

2023 BMW winning MotoAmerica super stock class 2023 BMW was winning MotoAmerica superbike until cam had a bad wreck and had to miss multiple races. 2023 BMW M1000 super stock machine broke the Isle of Man all time fastest lap in all 2wheel categories. The super stock bike owns the record. Josh Brooks was leading BSB. He was 30point from 1st in the championship when he had a mechanical that cost him the lead, no smoke or drama looked electrical. Soon after that he had a bad wreck causing him to fall far back in points. Either way BSB almost always has a 2023 BMW M1000 on podium

I don't think the 2023 M is racing in CSBK or ASBK so they don't count. WSBK has weird restrictions and other issues. The BMW doesn't have the power advantage in WSBK that it has in other racing.

I think it's pertinent you state that 205hp number, is to the crank...and not bhp. It's so misleading, as I know of no one who rides without a rear wheel and drive

Starting a roll race on that thing at 4000 rpm against a 1000 hp electric car is a pretty impressive level of inability to ride a bike. You should try that race again with someone who understands how a sport bike engine delivers power.

Just a tip, but gassing out of hill assist is the hard way(not that it’s hard). Just give the lever a 2nd hard squeeze and it will release. 🤟 That Tesla is a bad mofo. Elon Musk is awesome. 👍

H2 and H2R are also restricted, the R model less so. Neither has an intercooler, neither is making the amount of boost the engine can take, and neither bike is exactly svelte. The amount of power the supercharger gives the engine is offset by drag, weight, and engine heat (in stock condition). The H2 is a monster, but it's not a pinnacle standard of power. A well built turbo Hayabusa makes everything look slow.

I think you described your next video already - re-gear, look for best aero (2) and bring the number 😊🎉👏 I good bike for a new Nürburgring old circuit record time this bike maybe as well - closed course and see how much quicker a Nürburgring loving GP rider of today will be than Helmut Dähne in the pasts for instance. Or just set a new mark. (1) (Somebody did with a Germany made EV just recently as well. And of course a bike can't beat 6:05 - but how close will it get?) 1 - I think Dähne would love to give his support, pass on to next generations. Maybe a good carry over with regard to various aspects as well. 2 - give a ten second shot of nitro at 200 mph - we want at least gps 330km/h😉👏
