10 years from now there will be a trend reversal: Analog gauges and physical buttons will be considered a hallmark of craftsmanship and luxury -- not cheap cost cutting screens and touch capacitive garbage.

For the mild hybrid system, the technical literature from BMW says that it provides up to 10hp for a few seconds during acceleration to supplement engine power when the turbo isn't fully spooled. Furthermore, it can also provide an eOverboost of 89ft/lb torque when using launch control and explicitly states that it will NOT activate eOverboost with a normal kick down press of the accelerator.... only when launching with launch control active.

@@thedesertroad Yep! I've got an M340i ordered and waiting to be shipped. The guys on the Bimmerpost forum who have unlocked the ECU in these new M340's are beginning to poke around with the hybrid system to see if there is a way to enable the eOverboost any time the throttle is pressed hard enough to trigger a gear change kick down. If so, that will be like unlocking that 89ft tq on demand.

really good video still deciding between the pre lci and the lci. i feel like the lci is only 10k more than a used pre lci mine as well go for the new one right ?

I have driven both at one point for around a day. They are both great. LCI is a bit more refined, and I actually liked the interior upgrades. Really no wrong choice but if prices are close on the models you are looking at I'd personally go LCI - it's one of the nicest sport sedans I've driven. Thanks for stopping by!

@thedesertroad - I'm aware that these two : X6 40i and m340i are completly different cars , but what would you choose as a daily driver for youself ...? In which do you feel better /safer / nicer as a whole... Lets assume that money is no object :)

Wow that's such a tough question as I honestly loved both of these and would have a REALLY hard time deciding. Both are great in their own right. M340i obviously feels a bit sportier and tighter, but X6 is no slouch. X6 feels more baller / unique, plus you get the benefit of sitting up higher. All comes down to your driving preferences and what kind of a driver you are. And if you have a family , I'd again lean towards the X6 (roomier all around). I've come to enjoy the higher position of SUVs so X6 would be my pick here BUT I'd not deny a m340i as well, they REALLY nailed it! Thanks for stopping by!!

@@thedesertroad one more question , have you got a chance to test porsche cayenne with base v6 ? similar price tag to x6 .... if yes how would you compare these two..`?

@@sasquatch7962 Have not driven the V6 cayenne, but owned a '15 Cayenne Turbo before. Much prefer the X6 to the Cayenne in driving characteristics. Supposedly the new Cayennes are more improved...stay tuned for review on one soon!!

All cars come with M sport suspension. This is not adaptive suspension.

No. I'm saying if you did not pay for $550 USD for adaptive M suspension, you did not get it. This is not standard. Check your window sticker to confirm.

I recently bought a new 2023 BMW M340i xDrive. It is a very enjoyable and fun driving machine. Except..... I hate the controls on this irritating car. Everything that you need to do you have to do through the center screen and many options are buried several layers deep. It is a horrible, lousy, poor, very difficult and time consuming design. Whoever designed this horrendous controls should be fired. I wish I knew these designs fault as I would have never bought this car. It is my fault. A big shame on BMW. Check these controls before you buy this model. You have been forewarned. Check everything thoroughly. Hope BMW will redesign all the horrible and irritating controls for 2024.

Thanks for your feedback. It is one of the reasons I picked up a '23 X5 vs. the '24 with the updated screens. They do LOOK great though, but can be time consuming and distracting to operate. I don't enjoy my AC controls being buried into menus. Otherwise this car was a blast to drive for us! Hopefully you will get used to the controls so you can thoroughly enjoy this car.
