This video is really informative about the C8. I am 38 from San Jose, CA. Originally, I wanted a manuel Supra. I put 3 deposits on 3 different dealers since March 2023. No calls from them yet (I am still on their waiting list, and I am paying MSRP). As time went on, I decided to get a C8 LT1 coupe. Then I came across your channel. I really enjoyed your video. I picked the LT1 because (to me) LT2 and LT3 are just more luxurious. I don't need those luxuries. And I don't plan on reselling the car. This will be my first corvette/ American car. One of the reasons why I picked the C8 is because the C8 community had an older, mature audience. I found a dealer willing to sell me on at MSRP. I did it last week...Only problem, it's a 2024 instead of 2023. GM stop taking 2023 orders (according to the salesman). So I have a pay a few thousands more, no big deal. The car is expecting to be around Feb 2024.

Great video. I acquired my 2023 LT2 convertible Z51 about 2 weeks ago. Saw it on Cargurus and purchased it 3 days later so I didn't have to wait. It had 970 miles on it so the options were what they were. I paid $900 over MSRP so I think I got a great deal. I agree with you on the heat issue. I'm 56 and in great shape but only 5'4" so I have no issues getting in and out of the c8. I like the Z51 exhaust and plan on keeping it. I don't plan on selling the car but if I like the newer vettes in 3 to 5 years I might have to let this one go.

@@2024CorvetteE-Ray Paid half and financed the balance for 3 years. Was planning on purchasing an E-ray next year as I'm retiring in December but I couldn't pass up the opportunity. My budget was also $110,000. This car was loaded with options at $91k MSRP and I paid $91, 900 and love the convertible (despite having natural melanin). These cars are highly sought after in the Maryland/DC area and the markup is from $10K to $30K new and less on used c8s in this area for the String Ray. At this point in life I don't need to see the engine, I enjoy the creature comforts. Base price was $79k for the convertible then added Z51 package, performance suspension with mag ride (I will not track this car), GT2 bucket seats, & red mist metallic paint for about $11k in options. I found myself driving it more than I thought I would and love it.

Great points. I agree to most points but the 2LT with the front end lift served me better. The HD rear view mirror helps with the blind spot issues, of course that’s with the coupe.

This was a great Vlog. I'm thinking about getting and it's good to hear the real good and bad about the car. I'm going to rent one first to see how it feels to drive and get in and out of it. I'm 6'1 and I sat in one with no issues. The car is for sure a show stopper.

I don't see the heat issue so much here in CA, I can feel it in the garage after a drive, but I don't think it's as hot as yours is getting. I usually drive it a few times a month to work, mostly a weekend drive car with the top off. I got the Paragon mirrors to help with the blind spot, a HUGE help, and they look pretty cool with the blue tint... same, I wanted to see the engine, plus you can take the top off anyway.. the cylinder deactivation is pretty cool, especially with this type of car! My C7 had a manual and it was awesome, but the transmission on this C8 is pretty damn amazing! My car came with the upgraded exhaust, however I'm going to put the AWE touring exhaust, it's amazing, had it on my C7.. maybe when the kids are off the payroll, I'll reach for the Z06 LOL.... excellent video!!!

I just realized, you do not have the Z51 option. That is probably why I do not experience the heating issues. The Z51 option gives you an additional radiator for extra cooling.

Folks, keep in mind. Where I live it's always over 105 everyday, and it goes up during peak hours. It stays over 107 for the better part of the day, so this is another MAIN reason this car takes longer to cool off. I've seen other report that the engine bay is really hot as well, but it's really hot where I live. just wanted to note this, because it may not be an issue for those in cooler climates.

I have a 23 C8 Z51 convertible it’s a 1LT. Fortunately it has camera rear view mirror. Makes blind spot tolerable. My favorite car ever. My C7 I traded in was a 2LT. But I don’t miss anything it had. The 1LT is all I need.

I have the exact same C8 as you...2023 1LT Z51 Red Mist Coup, I took delivery this May and I have to say I have not experienced any heat problems in the engine bay. In fact I have placed groceries in the rear and they do not over heat. I don't know but so far not problems. Have 1,200 miles as of this month.

To J’s point - if you want to drive one find a dealer with used C8s on the lot. That’s how I had to do it after being told no at every Chevrolet dealership I went to. But know this - once you drive one you’re gonna want to buy one for sure! 😜

North Park Chevrolet in Castroville Texas let me and my wife take a 2022 Corvette Stingray 1LT for a drive and I drove it in there huge parking lot and decided after my test drive that I was buying a 2022 Corvette Stingray 1LT w/ only 972 miles from a Nissan dealership in Harlingen Texas and the car was delivered to me March 1st of 2023 and I have been driving it almost every day since then !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

I spend a month debating between a HTC and a coupe, i already own a C6 coupe and I hate to take the top on and off so I ended up getting the HTC and man o man I guess I dodge a bullet with the heat the noise and the engine getting dirty all the time

I’m in Maryland and you are correct. I have to leave the garage open. If I leave it closed the next morning the garage is like 80 sum degrees. I back in and put a fan on like a carpet drying fan.

Great video. I have the same car as you. A 2023 2LT Z51 coupe. I agree it really does get hot, especially in the garage. One thing I hate is the fruck does not soft close, and that's it for me. For the money this is the best car on the road in my opinion. It's absolutely amazing.

I've had my 2023 C8, 1LT January 2023. At 460 miles on the clock, I had to have it serviced for a bent push rod. Chevy replaced all the push rods.

I daily drive my 2020 c8 z51 fe4 1Lt . I usually drive about a 1000 miles a month. I don’t see the big deal the engine bay getting hot. Every cars Internal combustion engine bay gets hot.

EVs heat up too, when you park after driving it, that battery starts to kick off some serious heat as well. I have one in my garage next to my Vette. While it doesn't give the same amount of heat, it does push out a lot.

Anyone with corvette ownership experience knows that from the C2 to the C8 corvettes have had heat issuse. Case point the C2, C3 and C4 were proably the worse. My C7 if you dont use the AC it will have you thinking the firewall is missing.
