7 THINGS I LOVE and 5 THINGS I HATE about the C8 CORVETTE!

I have the HTC version of that exact car. I’ve had it now for 2 years and 10 000 miles, I’m surprised at your comments about rough ride and noisy. I find it surprising comfortable and quiet on the highway. My pregnant wife chose it for a 5 hour drive over our suv or BMW for comfort, and we live in “horrible roads Canada”. BTW since the C8 was launched there were haters out there predicting terrible quality issues to follow. I know there have been some identified issues, but my car has been 100% flawless. It is my first American car, I was always a Porsche guy, but I love this thing.

GM took a sports car and added luxury to it. My 2LT is very quiet and if I need shopping room I use my truck. For me this car rides like a magic carpet. I paid for the enhanced exhaust and it sounds like a beast., especially in Z mode.

Agreed if you want to have the extra "creature comforts" otherwise if you just want an extremely fun and fast vehicle for as cheap as you can get, 1LT is just fine for that.

Picked up my c8 in Dallas over the weekend. Everywhere I go, someone will tell me, "Nice car!" On Sunday night on a mountain-type road between Moab and Salt Lake coming around a corner at highway speed I encountered two deer standing in the middle of the road. The Z51 brakes handled it no problem. Still came within less than 12 inches of hitting one of them, but it was a very short stopping distance and I purposefully did not lock up the brakes or skid.

I have a 2023 1LT with the Z51 package and I love it.

My 2022 is the 2LT. It’s quiet cruising, comfortable, and a joy to drive. The exhaust note is great as well. It does have seated seats and steering wheel. I don’t think you could or should expect more from a very base model automobile. I would certainly recommend the 2LT over the 1LT. However I don’t see real value in the 3LT. My last thought. I would not spend the money on the Z51 package unless you plan on seriously tracking the car. If you are going to track the car then the Z51 package is a MUST have option. Cheers!

Just bought a 2023 Corvette C8 convertible 1LT. Agree with you about the blind spots. Every C8 should have blind spot monitoring. Not just 2 and 3 LT. Fortunately mines a convertible so it has roof camera rear view mirror. That helps a lot. Otherwise it is best corvette ever made.

Not sure what roads you are driving on but here in Wisconsin, our roads aren't very good and I think my '21 C8 is the most comfortable riding car I've ever been in. My wife and I LOVE taking it on long road trips. It's comfortable and so usable considering the performance it has and how great it looks!

I have a 3LT C8, and with the exception of the screen size which I agree is a little small, literally every other thing you hate is eliminated: interior sound, blind spot monitoring, heated seats/steering wheel, ride quality, and exhaust note (optional sport exhaust from the factory). So... ?

I own a 2023 C8 and a 2019 Scat Pack Widebody pushing 1200 HP with twin Hellion turbos. Sell your Hellcat the C8 is a completely unique driving experience light years beyond and other!!

Keep in mind that this is a sports car through and through. It's not suppose to be a luxury car, being that this car has next to no options and is the LT1 base model, it's more for the entry level or go fast crowd. If you would like the car to be faster, order the Z51, ZO6 or ZR1 package, if you would like it a bit louder, order the performance exhaust, a bit better handling, get the mag ride. You need to test a LT3 convertible, they are much quieter with the engine being covered and sealed. To me a true sports car will have no options at all, no AC, no heated anything, no GPS, nothing that adds weight and slows the car down. Just huge brakes, big power, a lot of down force and a bunch of grip. I have driven three C8 Corvettes, two coupes and a convertible I was very impressed with both. I have a 200 series Land Cruiser that I might sell just to buy myself a nice used C8.

It is! All C8s are still called the Stingrays. I think they brought it back in 2014 for the C7

The passenger doesn’t need to control or see anything. The passenger just needs to sit back and relax. The navigation is overrated especially if you have Apple car play or android auto.

Good review. I disagree with you on the maps complaint. Nobody today uses navigation from auto manufacturers because Google Maps is far superior to any of them. Why pay for factory nav when you have better navigation in your pocket?

While the cool things about the car are obvious, the little screen and lack of blind spot monitoring are unbelievable especially for a car that’s hard to look out of. Neither is an issue in non-performance cars that cost half as much. You never get more than what you pay for.

Yeah on the one hand you get performance that rivals supercars but on the other hand you don't have some of the basic amenities of cars at the same price point. You cant have your cake and eat it too. Fortunately you can get those features on the 2LT for around 75k which is still really good bang for your buck in terms of performance and amenities

You know you was suppose to by a 2LT with heated and cool seats, blind spot monitoring. Along with the rear view camera, I’ve spent 12.5 on upgrades which came up to 72.5 out the door.
