Thanks.. and great choice in rides! The Mach 1 is a great ride and it looks sharp in that color. I've heard so many people say the same thing about the redesigned Mustang too.. They should start hitting dealer lots in the next few weeks so that'll give me the chance to really dive in and see what I think. Cheers

Thank you for the video Steve! Considering purchasing the 2022 or 2023 Mustang, I was thinking about the new 2024 Mustang. But compared to 2022 or 2023, the insurance for the new 2024 Mustang is almost twice as much. The insurance prices are skyrocket these days. Would you consider 2022 Ecoboost convertible 101A package nite pony with active exhaust at 1.99% a good deal or a Ecoboost premium fastback with 201A package nite pony with active exhaust and B&O sound system 12 speakers at 4.99% a better deal? I'm really confused between these two! Your piece of advice is really helpful! Thank you Steve!

You're welcome! Insurance, purchase price and interest are all higher on the 2024 model.. Honestly, if you like the look at the 2022 model, the interest rate and lower costs would probably make it worth it. One of the other comments from Matt Turino points out 1st year of a redesign is typically when bugs pop up too. Looking at your 101a vs 201a.. there are some pretty big differences. The 201a is going to have leather seats that are heated and cooled, factory navigation and a fully digital cluster screen. The 101a is going to have cloth seats and an analogue cluster. It's going to come down to what you like the look of and what you can afford. I love the digital cluster screen in the 201a package but the question you have to ask is if the features are worth the extra $8 - $12k you're going to pay in the difference in model cost and the added interest rate

Not my money but I wouldn't buy a car based on the interest rate. I would get the car I want to make payments on. After six months the payments are the same but the newness wears off. I would go with the 201a myself.

Thanks for the comprehensive review. I prefer the S550 to the S650 based upon what I’ve seen so far. A few reasons here: I’m not crazy about the new styling, specifically the rear end. Just seems strange to me. I’m also not crazy about the screen situation with the new model. Seems like it’s become too much the focus and they have gone away from the traditional “dual cowl” cockpit, which I happen to like. Also, I would personally stay away from the first year of a redesign as that’s where you will usually encounter the most bugs and potential issues until everything is sorted out. Finally, pricing has gone up, and I’m not sure the changes are worth it. Not to mention the inevitable dealer markups that will be tacked on as well. In summary, I’m happy I have my 21.

You're welcome! I'm holding off my final judgment until I can see the new 650 in person. Really good point on the separation of the cockpit.. at least they kept the traditional shifter instead of moving it to the rotary dial! Pricing is higher and interest rates are crazy on the 2024 models right now too. Glad you're still enjoying the 21! Have you had a chance to take it out for a spin yet this year?

I agree. I have a 2023 GT Premium 401a. The cockpit is awesome. Sometimes when using any touch screen you don’t hit it just right and either does what you don’t want or doesn’t do what you do want. When driving I don’t want to take my focus away from driving to pay attention to the touch screen.

That makes sense. If you haven't yet.. you should start using the voice command prompt on the steering wheel to do some basics. Way easier in this than in a Tesla.

Interesting video steve. My understanding is ford Australia are going to have limit of 750 dark horses coming to Australia. I currently have a 2021 mustang GT. I’ve put a deposit on a dark horse which probably won’t arrive until early next year. The dealers are limited in there allocation for the dark horse. I may not follow thru with the order. I must admit I’m a bit concerned about buying early in a new model. It’s probably better to get the last run of the existing model. As buying the first cars of the production line for any new car is not a good idea….Jim. Australia.

Thanks Jim. Dealers around me are in the same situation with limited inventory on the Dark Horse. I'm torn on the idea of a first gen of a new model too, are you waiting to see what it looks like before you'd decide to make the trade?

@@CarsWithSteve Hi Steve. From the videos I’ve seen on KZbin the car looks good. I’m mainly waiting on the pricing in Australian dollars. I’m guessing it will be around a hundred thousand Australian dollars for the dark horse. The $AU has weakened against the $US in the last couple of years so we will to see how this affects the pricing. The mustangs brought into Australia by ford Australia are the premium models. There are options you can order. but the base model you can get in the US are not sold here.

It's a bit of a pain that the whole lineup isn't available for you guys in Australia. Cost of conversion from left to right hand drive would probably make the difference in the base vs premiums not worth it anyways. Do local laws support left hand drive cars? I know there are exceptions made in Canada for some models that are right hand drive

@@CarsWithSteve I’m not sure how the rules work on LHD cars in Australia, I have seen them on our roads but always on cars from the 60s and earlier. Which would have been one off imports.

That makes sense. The only ones I've seen out here that are RHD are Skyline R32, 33 or 34's
