The 2019 Wildtrak had adjustable thigh support. I was very disappointed when my 2021 model didn’t have it, along with a few other things like Wildtrak scuff plates and lights on the visor mirrors. Unfortunate that you have to get the Platinum model with the premium price tag to benefit from a feature that was standard on a lower spec Ranger years ago.

Why would you pay a price tag on a vehicle that delivers an open boot, let’s face it that ute will never see mud , a work site ( unless your the boss…..even then?), tools ( work tools not the ones that work on the third floor as an executive) the tools you use for work like a hammer or a …….anyway 2 high and 4 high does not refer to your ute being to high or being two times to high , a diff lock does not come with an anti theft device, the maxtrax permanently pinned to your un modified vehicle hilarious ( I’ve see plenty). Yes I own a ute , purpose built for my trade as a plumber, I use the 4wd maybe 3 times a month on work sites , camping or a wood fire run, I don’t run massive tyres or a lift, good quality all terrain tyres ,I can’t justify the constant noise of big tyres on a vehicle that sees mud 3% of the drive. This bizarre need for a ute that some people have is astonishing , get an suv with the same engine or see a doctor who can prescribe an anti inflammatory for your ego.

You’ve got to be joking!, $83k for a vehicle that rides like a billy cart. Luxury touches my arse, split glovebox and cup holders in front of the aircon vents? My poverty pack Hilux workmate has that too but my Land Cruiser has a proper fridge between the seats. The roof racks are pretty impressive but that’s about it. Making out that the tailgate is special or luxury because it’s properly balanced and has a gas strut fitted sounds a bit silly as that’s how it should have been all along. Why isn’t the tailgate fully electric? A friend of mine fitted a gas strut to his Ranger back in 2016. I think Ford has pulled the wool over your eyes if you think this is luxury. Just curious, did Ford lend you the car to review?
@Johnno1979 Жыл бұрын
Plenty of features over an above the standard WT to justify the extra $6k imho. Cooled seats, Matrix headlights, 12" instrument cluster, roof rack system, 10 way powered memory drivers seat, premium auto, auxiliary switch bank, heated steering wheel. With leaf springs, utes will never ride like a good SUV. However, pretty much all reviews rate the ranger as the most comfortable on the road. It really needs an option to chose 18" rims and AT tyres though.

The only company that pulls the wool over the eyes of its foolish buyers would be toyota, the cheapest built with the least safety and advancements in any vehicle category, the only land cruiser with a chilled central box is the top of the range wagon that doesn’t even have a factory diff lock😂
@scroungasworkshop4663 Жыл бұрын
@@paulmcintosh5589 True, except the cheaply built bit, Toyota constantly wins the reliability ratings. How many Ranger owners actually use the diff lock? The Cruiser has enough traction aids that make a diff lock unnecessary in all but the most difficult situations. It’s truly impressive watching the car dig its self out of soft sand when it’s down to the diffs, select crawl control, and let the electronics do the work. My 2020 Sahara is so smooth and quiet compared to our son’s Ranger, I know which I prefer to own and drive especially on long trips. Parked next to each other you can see the difference in the quality of the paint, fit and finish and the quality of the leather seats. My main gripe was not with the car but the way it was portrayed as being something super special. Getting so excited about the number of Platinum badges stuck all over it seemed pretty childish. Did you hear any negative comments? Of course not. When car companies are providing the vehicles are you really going to get a true review? Ford would have been very happy with his performance. In the end, as with all the dual cabs including Hilux, your dealing with a design that was setup as a workhorse and has gradually become more luxury focused . This is always going to cause a compromise between payload and comfort. Enjoy your Ranger as they’re a good car.
